I like the concept, but need to tweak the colorI really enjoyed receiving the entire kit, packaging and product seem really nice. I usually color at home so this is more expensive than my regular haircolor I pick up at the drugstore, but since I use one that is hard to find in stores here in Austria, I thought I would give this a try. I always love my color!I love eSalon! The color is long lasting, covers gray easily and doesn't wear off. My hair has never been damaged and (until now) had any adverse effects. Color changes that I have made have always been spot-on! The reason that I have only given three stars is because my last color, which was just about a week ago, did not turn out very well. I made changes to my color, but the changes were not dramatic -just added a cinnamon tone to my brown. I got an ends refresher along with my new color. I followed all of the instructions 100%. I've done this before so the process is familiar. Unfortunately, my ends are much darker than my roots. It is quite noticeable. And, to make matters worse, I have naturally curly hair and always put some kind of moisturizer on my ends which darkens my hair just little. It looks terrible. I have a lighter cinnamon colored roots and deep mahogany colored ends with no red at all. I've been hoping that my ends would release a little bit of the color. I don't normally wash my hair everyday but this week, I have been shampooing the ends daily to try to get them to lighten up a little. I'm going to try one more time today but I'm not feeling very hopeful. I'm going to have to get my hair fixed this weekend. I don't know what went wrong. Schöne Farbe geht schonender...Auf der Suche nach dem idealen dunkelblond-mahagoni-Ton bin ich bei meiner Onlinerecherche auf das Angebot von Esalon gestoßen. Eine individuell gemischte Farbe, abgestimmt auf die Kundenbedürfnisse, erschien mir attraktiv. Lieferung, Aufmachung, etc. waren gut. Der Farbton kam mir zu rot raus, aber ist okay. Wirklich negativ bewerte ich die eigentliche Qualität der Farbe - ich hatte als regelmäßig selbst mit Profifarben colorierende, erfahrene Frau ein wirklich unangenehmes Gefühl. Die Farbe enthält sehr viel Ammoniak, was entsprechend roch beim Einwirken und meine Kopfhaut sehr reizte. Nach der Anwendung (exakt nach Packungsanweisung) waren meine Haare extrem strapaziert und trocken. Der beiliegende Conditioner ist pures Silikon, was erstmal ein weicheres Gefühl verleiht, den Haaren aber nicht guttut. Jetzt, vier Tage später, ist meine sonst robuste Kopfhaut immer noch etwas gereizt, mein Haar fühlt sich immer noch trocken an. Werde in den nächsten Wochen gut mit qualitativ hochwertigen Produkten pflegen, dann wird's wieder. Aber mein erster Versuch mit Esalon wird mein letzter gewesen sein, ich werde wieder auf Profifarben setzen. 1st TryThe color was perfectly matched to my original color however quite a bit darker than I've had for several years. As I've aged, lighter seems better. Interesting, no one seemed to notice the darker color. I'm still looking for lighter and highlights as discussed with my stylist. ImpressiveI was very impressed with the kit! I love how it all comes neatly prepared with special instructions just for me. The color it's self is the only thing that hiccups me from ordering it again. I'm not a professional by any means but I think my cheap $5 boxes of Dye from a local store does just as well as there's. I've tried letting them know that I'm still not getting my desired color but even their changes didn't come any where close to what I had requested. Unfortunately Didnt Work :(I am a natural blonde with dyed blonde hair and some old highlights, I was quite scared with the ash in the colour chosen it would turn my hair green. Unfortunately, my hair is now orange, :( roots look almost bleached lmao. definitely not the ashy grey colour i expected. ESALSON, in general, seems amazing all the stuff I got for the small price I paid was more than generous. The shampoo and conditioner smelled AMAZING, by far the best smelling conditioner I've got with hair dye. Harsh on my hairI used eSalon for a couple of years and found my hair becoming more dry, brittle and less shiny. I tried eSalon color care conditioner and still had dry hair. I went back to the salon for my color and my hair is so much healthier. It is shiny, has more body, and no longer dry and brittle. Not at all what I expectedI thought I was getting a medium brown with medium copper tones. I love the brown. They nailed the that. The copper was so vibrant and intense. I am very bold, but WOW! I almost ran to the store to get some brown to tone it down. I am going to shampoo again tomorrow and hope the copper settles down. I am definitely going to change up my color. The hair color itself was wonderful. I was a little nervous as it seemed thin when I poured the developer and color out of the bottles. But as you mix it become very smooth and easy to work with. Nun denn...Ich habe mich, bei dem gesamten Bestell-und Lieferverfahren von eSalon sehr zuvorkommend behandelt gefühlt. Man wird stets auf dem Laufenden gehalten und die Fläschchen sind personalisiert/mit dem eigenen Namen versehen. Der Färbevorgang ist denkbar einfach und auch nach der Anwendung fühlen sich die Haare an, wie vom Frisör gefärbt, was ein großer Pluspunkt ist. Zu meiner 3-Sterne-Bewertung führt mich jedoch das Farbergebnis. Da habe ich deutlich mehr erwartet, denn meine Haare haben leider nicht den erwünschten leuchtenden Kupferton angenommen, sondern mehr einen anderen matten Farbton mit wenig Kupferreflexen. Zwar sind meine Haare nun sehr ebenmäßig gefärbt, aber ein paar mehr Farbpartikel wären mir lieb gewesen. Didn't hurt my hair!I have had my hair done and intermittently done my hair for years. While achieving my ideal color has been a little bit of a struggle, the actual formulation of the product is great. Not at all runny, and left my hair with body and shine. Color Never Came Out GoodAfter signing up for esalon I was excited for my new Auburn color. The first set of color made my hair look Kool-Aid red, I called my colorist and explained in great detail along with sending photos of how my hair turned out. The top of my hair was way darker than the ends. It was a mess. She sent me a new color and I gave that a try. She had assured me that she really understood. Well, I ended up with bright orange hair. No where near Auburn. Thank goodness this color washes out fast. Not only is the color not at all what I wanted twice. The toner stains your hands for days and anything it gets on. The product itself is extremely strong chemicals and burned and smelled horrible. The shampoo and conditioner sent with the product is such a tiny amount it didn’t even cover all of my hair. I did cancel my membership and asked for a refund. I just can’t play around with my hair like it’s a wig. The only reason I’m giving two stars is because they did issue a refund for my color. Good, not greatLet me start by saying, I went into this fully knowing how difficult blond hair is really hard to get perfect... I have had a few terrifying orange hair moments with at home dye jobs. So I know it’s not easy. With that said, I’ll say, thank god for purple shampoo... My roots come in dark, even though I am blond.. the length of my hair is a very light almost platinum blond. I requested the “lightest blond” color. My hair definitely looks better than it did going from dark dark blond to light blond but my roots are still darker than I would like. They also came out pretty orange. If they had turned more of a dirty or even a lighter blond color I would have been ok. I almost look like a strawberry blond now and you can still see where the roots grew out to. I will continue with purple shampoo and the tint rinse on my roots and hope for the best. Not enough shampoo and Conditioner I have a lot of hairExactly what am I to do with the tiny amount of shampoo and conditioner u supply?? Color ChoiceI love the product but I need a much darker color. My color was adjusted to a golden brown however my gray roots look almost green not matching my base color. I do love the shampoo and conditioner that's provided. I just need a much darker color for my roots as now I am still two toned. Colour is completely wrongI normally use Garnier Olia 7.40 intense copper, and love the original colour but it fades quite quickly into light ginger. Natural colour is dark blonde. Been dying my own hair since age 14, I'm almost 28 now. Thought I'd give a "custom" colour blend a go, to see if esalon's "7.40 intense copper" could be intense for longer, and the first pack seemed like a great deal. The pictures for my natural colour / dyed colour / goal colour matched exactly what hair I have and wanted ... yet the colour turned out a hideous dark reddish brown. Did the colourist misunderstand or something? Orange dye over already ginger / dark blonde hair is not a difficult thing to achieve! Now I'm hoping it WILL fade so I won't have to strip the colour to dye my normal colour back over! The dye itself stinks so badly of ammonia it's terrifying. As soon as a little touched my hair out of the bottle it made my eyes sting and water. Consistency is exactly the level between runny and goopy that it splatters everywhere. So basically I spent about an hour crying and getting dye all over the bathroom and myself for a colour I absolutely hate and will likely have to spend extra money on fixing. I regret putting this on my head and won't be using esalon again. My store-bought box dyes have never let me down like this. Edit: all the “colour expert” can do is give me a “slightly lighter” shade of the same dye ... it’s entirely the wrong colour! Do you not understand?? I still have to bleach/strip the darker brown colour myself, after which I’ll be using my usual dye and not this. And my roots haven’t been fully covered, and are especially visible at the back where the dye sat for a shorter period of time but still longer than instructed. This is going to be a huge hassle. Happy enough!!Hello!! As with before the shine in my hair is incredible with good enough grey coverage. I got my friend who is a hair dresser so i have better coverage of my greys than last time! Again the colour wasn't the auburn i thought i had requested it is red. A vibrant red. I am though happy with the overall product i just can't get the auburn/copper that i am looking for. I love the color! I hate washing this stuff outI have been doing my own roots using this color for about 5 months now. I love how the color looks. I love how easy it is to put on. I love that the literary everything I may need is enclosed in a cute package that’s shipped to my house monthly. There’s even stain protectant and stain remover. Seriously!!! Amazeballs!!! I love that when I needed to adjust the color I had a conversation with a stylist who adjusted it 1/2 and then another 1/2 shade until we reached a perfect personalized color. What I hate is the color consistency once it sits for 30 minutes. It becomes waxy, tacky, and so hard to take out that you literally have to massage it for 3-5 minutes to get it out! It takes at least 3 shampoos to do this... and takes out a bunch of my hair! I guess there’s a home remedy where you mix a tablespoon of baking soda into the shampoo and then rinse. But I just found out about it and haven’t given it a go yet... also I’ve been told that they’re changing the product to eliminate the waxiness. Great color...gone in one wash!I LOVE the color and tried a second round to see if it was just a fluke the first time that the brilliant color I loved...it was gone immediately after I washed. I contacted a specialist for the next one, and was assured it would be more durable/permanent, but alas, I loved my new color again, and said goodbye to it after the first hair wash. So darkI talked with my colorist, we agreed on going lighter to darker SLOWLY. She says dark blonde. I am thinking more light or medium blonde I looked up dark blonde and said ok. I colored my hair and this is the darkest blonde I ever seen. It is brown. My hair feels great but not use to going so dark so fast. I am 60 and was told don't go darker because it pulls your face down and you look older. Idk but all in all great product but drastic change. Still orangey and brassy sigh.Thank you for adjusting the color. I like it better and it covers gray better so far. Nice color, but my hair says ouchSo, my hair was BAD. My roots were really grown out and my hair color was turning into a copper mess, so I knew it was time for a change. I planned on going to the salon, but grad school is not only taking my money, but also my time away from me. I decided that this was the next best thing. The positives, best website ever. I really felt like my hair was being taken care of by my colorist. The color matched for me was ideal. Also, 10/10 for packaging and cuteness. I felt like it was *made for me.* Customer service is on a whole other level. I was reading reviews, waiting for my package to arrive and noticed others said the dye made their hair feel gummy. I was told by customer service to prep my hair with a hair masque the night the night before. I followed those instructions and prepped my hair. BUT my hair was really left feeling thirsty and sad. As I was shampooing the color out in the shower, I said goodbye to multiple strands of hair that didn't survive the battle. A week later and my thick hair just feels dull. I was hoping I could rely on this service for all of my color needs, but I might be giving up. Ruin my expense Japanese straightening workI straighten my hair too and it is a constant struggle for me. Results are just as promisedBest natural color ever....dating back to when I was in my early 30's! I had my hair cut (unusually) short to make sure that I would have enough coloring agent.....could have left it 'mid-length' as there was colorant to spare! Wow, I am over 70 and have never had such a beautiful hair dye experience....have done it at home for 20+ years. ColorI really liked how the product didn't really smell and since I'm a stylist myself I have smelled some strong colors. I love the shampoo and conditioner. Color setIm impressed with how much longer my hair color lasts as compared to the store bought boxed color i used to purchase. The tone is a lot less brassy (I'm a redhead) and looks much more natural. Im on my 3rd or 4th kit n still trying to perfect my personal color preference as well as application process as its always turning out a little too dark for me. But i sincerely believe thats because MAYBE I'm not doing it applying it perfectly correctly yet. Its a learning curve. Mahogany redI don’t color my hair often since I have little gray. And when I do, I dye it myself at home (typically soft black). My 50th birthday is coming up so I wanted to have a big change and go with mahogany red. I felt that my best results would be to have my hair colored professionally. And thus I came to eStudio Color Studio. My experience over all was pleasant and welcoming. The salon is beautifully appointed and clean. My colorist was polite, professional and quite helpful. We discussed my wishes and she explained that she couldn’t give me a lighter shade of red given my dark base. I told her that this was perfect as I wanted a dark shade of red. I showed her some internet pics and said that I wanted “Mahogany Red”. After two hours of processing, shampooing and styling, I was ready for my results. My hair looked beautiful, shinny and nicely styled but it wasn’t RED! My hair looks soft black which, I could have done myself at home!! 😩 I was tired and hungry at that point and the only thing that I managed to say is that it looked too dark. The colorist said that I could go back and get a “light set” at my next appointment which may give me more of a red hue. My mom was with me at the appointment and on our way out she said “I heard you ask for Mahogany Red but I just don’t see it, maybe in the sunlight??!” But no, not in the sunlight either. Purple tone - no purple at allOrdered the purple toned hair color. Did a test strip and loved it - purple color came through and looked great after rinsing and drying it. Sticky/ waxy residue is extremely frustratingI have been using e-salon for over a year now. I really like the custom color; I have medium, ashy, brown hair that tends to become brassy with store-bought hair color so when the e-salon colorist added enough ash in my second order the color was almost identical to my natural hair avoiding undesired brassiness and giving me soft and shiny hair. The gray coverage is also excellent (I am in my early 30's but have had grays since 19 so I know the deal!). Anyway, for all these reasons I put up with a big inconvenience: having to wash my hair at least 5-6 times to get the sticky/waxy residue off my hair. I initially contacted customer service and they suggested to use bicarbonate and to rub my hair with some of the product left in the bottle immediately before washing my hair but that only reduced the # of washes from 7-8 to, as I said, 5-6 times. It has become extremely frustrating to spend so much time, effort, shampoo and water just to color my hair (especially during this time of the year where it grows like crazy) so it does not make sense for me to continue using it as much as I like the other features. Dark but vibrantFirst let me say I was VERY impressed with the kit. Bravo! Due to extenuating circumstances I could not color right away unfortunately. I’ve colored my hair at home many times but I must say this was my messiest application. Probably mostly my fault. I got color all over the bathroom. I liked the way the color rinsed out pretty easily. The finished color came out darker than I expected so I may try to change that before you ship my next order. The color was nice in that it had high and low lights and it blended well. I would suggest longer gloves lol. I’m hoping after a few washes it lightens up a little and more red shows through. I have only a little gray right in the front of my hairline so I was disappointed when I still saw a few gray hairs after coloring. That was the first place I put color so I’m sure I gave it ample time. Overall I really liked the product. I only gave it three stars though because of the darker than expected color and the few grays still showing. Use to likeWhen I started using this product I loved it. My hair color was perfect. The more I use it my hair gets darker and darker each time. Completely different colour.I had very light blonde hair, and decided to try this product to go a deep mahogany with a red tint. I was so excited! The package was fab and everything arrived when it said it would. I followed all the instructions to the letter as I didn’t want to get anything wrong, even had a friend help so I didn’t miss any bits. Washed and dried my hair, and it’s rose gold at best. It literally looks 3 shades darker, and a little warmer. My partner literally said he couldn’t see a difference... I will never try this again!
