Sadly disappointedI was so exited to try this product as the options for copper/lighter red options are dwindling in the drug stores and I have little time to head to a salon. I followed the instructions explicitly and everything seemed to be going well until I followed the final and “do not skip” last step. I added water to the remaining dye from bottle two and poured the mixture over my hair and began to, as directed, massaged vigorously. My hair almost immediately turned into a gelatinous mess. The consistency of everything changed, I could barely move my gloves fingers through my hair, and I had waxy build up on my scalp and through out my very thick curly hair. 30 minutes and 5 shampoos. That’s what it took to get whatever it was that built up in my hair out. I have no idea what the color *might* have looked like if I didn’t have to shampoo that many times on freshly colored red hair to not have all the waxy residue to remove but the end result was pretty unimpressive. It was dull, light auburn color that looks similar to the shades I was trying to avoid in the stores. Shady business!DO NOT deal with this company unless you want them taking money out of your bank account without your permission!!!! I didn't even have time to color my hair with the first kit they sent when I see they charged my debit card for another kit!!!! Of course they charged my card on a Sunday when there was no one in customer service to talk to!!! I even cancelled the order before shipment so they can refund my card and they shipped it anyway!!!! I called customer ASAP first thing on Monday and they were going to make me pay for return shipping!!! Upon talking to a manager they said they would give me a full refund, when I get the package put "return to sender" on it put it in the mail and call back customer service and they would credit my card. Well I did all that and when I called back to get my refund after putting the kit "return to sender" back in the mail the customer rep said they will give me the refund once they recieve it in the mail!!! Now they are giving me the run around and don't want to refund my money like they said they would!!!! This is so not fair!!! They never should have shipped that order and they shouldn't be making transactions on people's accounts on days and times there is no customer service available!!! I haven't used the first kit they sent me yet and even if I do and I love the hair color it will be ashame because I will never do business with this company again!!! Missed the mark big timeYou guys really missed the mark on this color I hate to tell you. But I'm not at all impressed with the actual color itself as it shoulda been much much more violet because absolutely no violet or red showed up at all. My hair is a drab dark brown. Hair turned to silly puttyEverything was fine till I went to rinse out dye. My hair turned into a blob of rubber. It was not penetrated by water. The water solidified it. After panicking, I reached for the strongest shampoo I could find & was able to dissolve the congealed blob section by section. It was a frightening experience. Disappointing after a first great experienceI made a first order for a semi-permanent light brown and I was so impressed with the colour and everything. I recommended eSalon to my sister. She got a permanent darker brown/soft black. I helped her to apply the colour and it was a disaster. Like another customer, Laurie, despite following the instructions to the letter, when I tried to rinse my sister’s hair color, her hair seemed caked with glue. I used your shampoo and conditioner, then another shampoo, then an oil-based shampoo but her hair still felt gross and the water was still dark. After an hour in the shower we decided to stop washing as there was no improvement. We used a towel instead to tried to remove the ‘glue’ attached to the hair, applying lots of force. After another half an hour of this, there was still a slick coating on my sister’s hair. I was mortified by this. I had suggested your company to her and convinced her to give a try. But her colour was totally different from the one I received. I thought something was not quite right even when I mixed colour and developer for her - it smelled bad, like ammoniac, rather than nice like on my first experience. The glue effect went away after almost a week of vigorous shower and towel massaging. She looked messy and gross for almost a week. Not my desired colorI'm considered a "natural red head" but my natural color is kind of a strawberry blondish brown...? I really wanted to have a copper orange red. So I went with Intense Copper... but ended up with just an auburn red, with copper orange-ish hue when the sun hits it....... :( I've never been able to achieve the color I desire... I was really hoping by trying this with a "personalized colorist" and adding my picture of my natural color I'd get a better match. It's not all for not... Waxy feelingI used the product 2 times. I liked the color, but I had to wash my hair anywhere between 5 and 6 times to get the color out after the allotted time. Color was too dark and product stuck on my hair.I wish to give a good review, because the idea is really good, but e salon didnt work for me. I wanted to change of a brown burgundy for a brow violet, My hair now is just a boring dark brown with any burgundy or violet and I waited until wash my hair few times before to write this review. In addition my hair is dry, because I need to use shampoo 4 times to remove the product of my hair, it was as a glue. Nice colour, too long of a process!I like the colour, the process however is just too long and the dye is extremely difficult to rinse out, I don’t like the shampoo or conditioner supplied, I had to wash and condition my hair a second time using my own to get it completely out of my hair, now let’s see how long the colour lasts. Too darkSo, I was told by the specialist that it was gonna be an ash brown with no red;however, it ended up being black blue and ruined my hair! Sadly DisappointedWas so excited to try this colour. I watched the videos and followed the enclosed instructions. The results were so disappointing. I have two large areas of grey, right at my temples. Like skunk stripes. The dye only VERY slightly coloured these grey areas, and washed out on the first shampoo (using eSalon Big Love Volumizing shampoo.) The colour itself had no dimension or gold tones. I am going to try one more time before canceling completely. I did love the shampoo that was enclosed with the colour kit. Damaged product and wrong colorwhen ordering my second shipment how color I changed the color and send pictures as to what I wanted I was then contacted and told they could not do the exact color I wanted and then shoot me the product that I previously ordered with one extra Free bottle of ends Refresher. The issue was that the color they sent me was still on mahogany when I wanted a darker brown instead of medium brown with Violet instead of mahogany so I was not very happy with that then when I contacted support I told them that received damaged product as well as the wrong color and I then had to go by new color from a store because I had a vacation planned that now I would not have my hair die in time for and had to spend more money than I was planning on when they refunded me an early refund without sending the product back yet it was only $20 refund so it was $15 short of what I paid for my order. This has been a very stressful situation for me having to figure out things at the last minute for my trip spend more money than I wanted and then have to wait a week for my funds to be transferred back to my card and it wasn't even the full amount that I actually paid. I will probably never order from this company again. Too darkThe colour formulated for me was way too dark, it was very harsh and although it covered my previous colour and abundant grey roots I couldn't get used to it looking nearly black. I wanted a warm colour, more a chestnut brown which was nothing like the end result. Doesn't color roots wellI love the color that you made for me. I just wish it would have colored my roots. My roots are completely White but it is a course White. My hair had lightened much more by the time I appliedYou sent a light brown hair colour but a dark blonde touch up wand. The dark blonde wand was the right colour up until I applied the colour kit today but the hair colour kit is too dark. Color not what was orderedMy "colorist" decided the color I ordered was not going to be flattering, so I was sent something completely different. I could have returned it but it would have cost as much in return shipping as what I paid for the order to begin with. So I figured I had nothing to lose since I paid for it anyway. I used the color and not only read it not what I ordered, but not what the bottle and order says it was. I wanted a copper red, they sent me "light brown red mahogany", and I got something that resembles a dark bozo the clown red. This is the worst color I have ever had. I won't waste my money again, especially when I have no idea what I'm going to get. I still don't understand why they would randomly send me the wrong color, unless that's their way of getting you to buy more, too fix it. Rocky experienceUpdate: Third try. This color is better than Walmarts colors but it STILL turned out pinkish. I didn't even do it this time, my husband did. I originally wrote what is below. I have gave this a second chance (my hair used to grow slowly but due to supplements is is growing much faster). This second time my hair turned out just plain wrong, at the roots. It was embarrassing and I probably won't be giving it a second chance since I feel like the color care team acted like I was stupid and told me (basically) I must have swapped the bottles. I wasn't asking for anything except that the color be formulated different. I have been let down and I am very saddened since my first experience was just amazing. I have went to several different hair salon over the years, trying to get the perfect color. I have even bought at home hair color and tried it myself. Even when I went to salons the hair stylist always ended up turning my hair pink or a different color than I had originally planned on getting by talking me into something else. I have naturally strawberry blondish hair and I just simply want it a little bit redder. I honestly didn't have high hopes for this and I was beyond impressed!! The product is nice BUT adjusting it just wasnt right for meThe product is a good quality although a bit pricey. Coming autoship was very handy. But getting adjustments done was poor. Seems once you put color on your hair, that is it. You cant adjust it lighter, only darker according to what I was told. I know my salon has lightened my hair so it cant be impossible but they cant do it here (?). I stopped shipments and am going back to my salon. Past colorI have been happy with my present color but I am getting more gray or I should say white. I would like to lighten the color a little more so that when my hair grows out the gray blends in better. Actually my natural color is white not gray. I get lazy about keeping it colored all the time so there are times when it will grow out about about 2 - 2 1/2 inches. When I use the eSalon the color stays in longer. ???I don't get it???2nd bad go at this hair coloring business.Hi Everybody! Well I did the color formulation Esalon sent me and i did it correctly. The 1st bottle (root application) The second bottle (ends gloss application) The 3rd ( all over with the leftover color in the shower for several minutes) It still did not do anything at all! If anything, the top of of my hair...the roots came out a teeny, tiny, weeny bit 🍓. But you can barely, if any at all, see this. Actually, i still look pretty light blonde. No change WHATSOEVER! The rest of my hair ( the ends application esalon suggested I do?) Nope. Nothing. It didn't come out 🍓 at all!. There is no change at all! If anything, I'm going to call it a day and give up on trying to get that perfect color, because it just isn't working out for me. Thanks for trying super hard, Esalon, as you have on getting it just right. I know that you really, really did. I just believe i would have to be there for you guys to know exactly what color and how to do it by looking right at my hair. It just isn't working out and a lot of it has to do with the damage i already had done to my hair prior. Thanks for trying though. The color was actually looking quite dark while on my hair after after applying it not even 5 minutes into the wait. (I was even worried it would come out too dark) Dark! However, it washed right out after rinsing. Miss Stephanos A. ,(My Colorist), hit it "Dead On" when it came to the shade I had desired! I'll give her that!!! Kudos! I had chosen a Dark Blonde Neutral as my color, but i felt that it was just a tad too dark, with the medium blonde being a little too light. But it came out ashy with a really green tinge! Ugh! Mousey hair!Unfortunately, I didn’t get what I first ordered, which was a light ash blonde. Instead I got sent a medium ash, it now looks like my original mousy colour that I’ve been dyeing for years to get rid of it! I did get an apology and a refund, which is good of them! Wax!I started noticing that after washing off the color the product leaves behind a super sticky substance which doesn’t wash away with 2 shampoos . It wasn’t like that before. The old formula was super and was leaving hair soft. This formula sucks and your suggestion to wash with soda and shampoo is ridiculous. I have also noticed that the hair doesn’t look as healthy anymore after this product. Super mad that I was wasting my money on something that did nothing but damage. Nice product but hard to wash outLove the packing and contents. Directions are clear, you’re given two sets of gloves (game changer), shampoo, conditioner, dye preventer for your skin and a remover for mistakes on the skin. The price is good and it produces a nice color. However, the color is almost impossible to wash out. It even turns slick and almost stuck to your hair in the shower. I have to use the entire shampoo and then my own shampoo. Seems like it’s not worth the dye job I just did having to wash my hair four times afterwards. It’s not love.I really want to love this product. The packaging is amazing. I’m a sucker for detail and there was no detail lost here. The personalization had me so excited! My final product wasn’t any better (or worse) than drugstore color, but more expensive ...even with the ends bottle thrown in. Less expensive than salon, yes... but my color really is just “meh”. My hair color came out brownish red.My natural color is brown with blonde highlights. My first color application came out brown with coppery red roots. It was a complete and obvious color difference. Would not recommendIf I could give them a zero I would. I got a color not even remotely close to what I asked for. So, instead of saving money because I can't afford to have my dream red hair I took a chance on this brand. The reviews were great so I thought nothing could go wrong. I had blonde hair wanting to go copper red and I got a medium toned BROWN. THE EXACT COLOR I DID NOT WANT. My hair looks like poop and completely unnatural on me. Little change on black hairHi I received my coloring kit yesterday. I applied black color on the regrowth 15 minutes then the other gold effect color on my lengths 10 minutes.
