I was worried this would be just like box color. It wasn't. It was true to the color I asked for. I did notice it did have a lighter or different color on the grays. Still way better than boxes!

Even after weeks of color, it never turns brassy. My hair shines for weeks, the only reason it needs to be reapplied is to cover the gray roots! Amazing!

My hair is so ridiculously thick every time I went to a salon to get cut/color it was upwards of $300 or more and my hair always felt weighed down and heavy with no bounce afterwards .. A friend turned me onto eSalon and its been the best thing yet .. let's face it ladies when we want to change or freshen our look the 1st thing we change is our hair color or style .. with eSalon the prices are reasonable and you get a much much better product than the $5 box brand at the local grocery store ! Copper blonde .. beautiful color.. rich.. much better than the box color I was using .. preference lightest auburn.. as i aged the preference just didn't work for me and was causing a lot of damage.. Ive only colored once with E salon but will be touching up within a week I hope all goes well.

I hadn't noticed the positive impact on my hair until recently. I was traveling quite a bit so didn't color for over 2 months. My hair was frizzy and difficult to manage despite using my usual hair products. When I finally got home and colored it, everything wnt back to normal... shiny, soft and bouncy!

Every single time I've gotten my hair done at a salon, I end up walking out so disappointed. I am literally still trying to color correct a bad dye job from a "professional" over a year ago. I absolutely love ordering from esalon and getting a custom color. I feel much better doing it myself at home. I think it's a genius process and revolutationary idea.

The hair color went on nicely. Not enough conditioner for my long thick hair. Didn't like the conditioner.

I received my order and was very excited to give this a try and become my very own beautian. I read all the directions and got to work. I love the pre facial/hair-line slime. I recommend using it all up. Coat your entire neck and a 2 inch perimeter around your hair line. I'll can now tell you I made a big mess. Do not leave your phone on the corner where you are working. Do not try to pick up your phone after you have begun. And yes bleach wipes will take the dye off all other surfaces. (Floor, sink, counter top, shower walls..)
OK step 1 pour 1 bottle with large mouth into squeeze bottle with small mouth.
I was concerned i would make a mess so I moved the bottles into the sink before combining. I didn't spill a single drop. Figures.
Section off hair and begin back to front. This feels weird working back to front but worked out ok. I like the squeeze bottle for the roots. It made applying easy. I ended up separating my hair into 6 sections. My hair is very thick. I love the real gloves. These are not the gloves the cafeteria lady wears. And there are 2 pair. By the way I needed 3 pair.
OK on to the second color
I had no idea how to apply the color to the length. I looked on the directions for a Web site or YouTube link. Just a phone number. Crap. OK I'll squirt and soak. The brush made for a barbie doll is not going to work in my hair.
I was concerned I would run out of color but there was plenty. I even had a sufficient amount to add water shake and saturate.
I wasn't prepared for the odor of this salon hair color.
Half way through I decided to change my clothes and put on a dark robe. Thank you husband. I completed the last step in the shower. Due to the red color, my bathroom looks like a murder scene but my hair looks pretty good.
I'm not thrilled with the dark brown roots. I'm looking forward to a follow-up tweak in my color.

Even though I’ve never shied away from color from a box, I was a little hesitant at first just because I wasn’t sure if the color was going to match what I previously had done at the salon (I went from blonde to red.) I was so surprised when the color ended up matching EXACTLY what I had gotten done. Not only was the color amazing, but it didn’t smell too strong nor did it make my scalp itch. I started using eSalon about a year ago. I was immediately impressed. Recently I felt my color changed and I asked for different tones. I didn't feel like they matched what I wanted HOWEVER I voiced my concern and customer care was all over it and sent me another formula. They matched it dead on. Seriously how many of us try to accomplish this with a hairdresser and pay way too much money and let it slide because we know them! Hallelujah! I've purposely waited to give this review because I wanted to make sure this color wouldn't turn RED on my hair. I am SO AMAZED. I have paid BIG BUCKS for hair color, but everything it seems has the same results -- my hair eventually developing a red hue which I hated. I specifically requested when ordering from eSalon that it wouldn't have red in the formula and they have delivered. This color matches my natural color exactly with NO RED! Growing up a Redhead was not popular in the 80s, as The Gingers are now. But if a man liked your red hair, he was hooked. After having our children, my hair started greying, I work outside so the sun lightens whatever color I put on it. The reds you can purchase in a store NEVER look natural. Having seen this advertised in a glossy magazine I thought I'd give it a look .
After filling in the questionnaire and then explaining what colour I would like to achieve my colourist Paul contacted me the same day asking for a photo of my current colour .
My hair is very fine , blonde with ashy undertones and a good amount of grey at the front and sides .
Paul mixed up my colour which was roots then rinse through then I was sent an email saying it was shipped .
The box arrived 2 weeks later ....inside was the cute bottle of colour , developer and gloves . Also included were a sachets of shampoo , conditioner, colour remover and stain guard oh and a brush for application.
I followed the instructions to the letter has never home coloured my hair before it's always at a salon which costs 90 pounds ever 6 weeks .
After a 35 minute wait after application I was left with shiny , ash blonde , multi tonal hair. All grey was banished 😀 Infact I have contacted Paul to ask for a small tweak on the ash and that's it .
Perfect one happy customer i wish I'd tried the service earlier .

This product is easy to apply, they take what you want into consideration. It is cheaper then going to an actual salon and looks BETTER! Customer services doesn't treat you like a silly child.

Every time in my life I have tried dying my own hair it has turned coppertop. I have a lot of natural red highlights in my hair so it always pulls warmer tones. My most recent visit to a salon left me horrified at the results because they wouldn’t listen to me!
eSalon is different! They listened to me. The colorist even called me to make sure they had all the information they needed to create the right color for me.

I love E-Salon! They are so accommodating about everything. I've changed my hair color order just about every time because I couldn't decide which shade I liked... and I ended up going with the original darkest brown after all my indecisiveness. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because I end up throwing out so much extra dye since I have a pixie cut. It's wasteful to me.

The whole process of deciding a custom colour is really simple and extremely thorough; it takes you through a consultation, as if you were with a stylist “in real life”. You choose your current hair colour status, mine being all over colour, what type of dye you use, when you last used hair dye, hair length and grey coverage all the way through to your ethnicity, eye colour through to your hair colour history.
SUPER THOROUGH. Theres an option to upload a photo of yourself so that the mixologists can have a better look at what they are working with. Once I had decided from the myriad of colours available, I chose, paid and waited. The next day I received a phone call to discuss the options I had chosen and to double check that’s exactly what I was after, and they were so helpful and knowledgable it put me at ease.
When the package arrived it contained everything you could possible need, and not think of! Gloves, mixer as standard but also with some wipes and a dye barrier, which you just rub around your hairline so you don’t get that awkward spackle or thick line where the dye has sat!
The colour was perfect, the application was seamless, although the only thing I will say is that my bottle of mix was screwed on so tight that I had to use scissors to cut it, but it had been out in the cold all morning so I assume that had something to do with it!
Would thoroughly recommend this service; you get the quality of product and service you would in a salon with the guarantee of a colour you will love, which is as you know never certain with a standard box dye!

I recently got my first subscription order. I had just gotten done with a very disappointing experience with another online subscription hair color service (M.R.) and had seen other people had good luck with esalon. I have colored black hair, with natural mousy brown as a base. I went through the options and based on the colorists suggestion went with the soft black intense pearl. The delivery came very quickly and included a warmer gloss for my ends, as a freebie. Awesome surprise! After doing the color, (including the gloss!) I can say that I havent loved my color this much in years, if EVER! The color is deep and intense but also soft and natural. I RARELY ever write reviews on products but this is one that I felt I must. My hair feels healthy and shiny and the color makes me so happy to see every day!! I feel like this is the start of a beautiful relationship-haha!!

My first color was a red brown and at first I liked it, it was different and fun, but it faded a little too orangey for me and I ended up not liking the red so much for me. I asked my colorist to switch to a medium golden brown and I knew that the red would still show through because it was so very red but she nailed it. It’s a wonderful medium golden brown with red just showing through. She noted that she was toning out the copper and it worked out perfectly. I’m super impressed. Perfectly blended color and so easy to do from home. I’ll never go back to boxed dyes from the store.

I am a natural redhead whose hair is starting to fade a bit and lose its vibrancy so I’ve been paying around $350 every 6 weeks to have my hair dyed back to my natural color. We recently started a family business so obviously I couldn’t do that anymore. I tried eSalon after buying but not using 4 different boxes of hair dye none of which looked remotely like my correct color. With eSalon being as affordable as it is I thought it couldn’t hurt to just look at the product. Well I ended up dyeing my hair for the first time at age 42 with the eSalon set, I was FLOORED!! It looks closer to my natural color than my stylist ever managed. One more major important point. I had indicated initially I wanted to go two shades darker than my then faded natural hair. My colorist from eSalon Porshawna emailed me and asked if I was sure I really wanted to do that as they don’t normally recommend it. Thank God she caught that, if I’d gone two shades darker I wouldn’t have been recognizable the one she formulated was perfect. Thank you Porshawna! I cannot recommend this company and the staff highly enough. eSalon customer for life!

I’ve ordered a color trying to get out of the bore medium brown and they designed a medium brown with copper-reddish base, I do like it but I really want my hair red. So, I let the team know about it, waiting for my next shipment to see if I can gradually go to red. I really like the products, the hair after the process look amazingly healthy. Here in Japan there aren’t too many places that you can have a great color among language barrier, so I’ll keep my esalon experience every month. And the best, covered my grays!!!!

I expected the color to be a little more lighter, but I love the fact that it was very easy to handle, and it covered all my greys!!

I'm normally don't do reviews ....but with that being said I am so pleased with my results I wanted to share my story . I lost all my hair due to chemotherapy 2 years ago and when my hair grew back it was not healthy and I hated the color which was totally different than before
So I went to a salon and after being excited to finally have enough hair to color I ended up very upset and disappointed the color washed out in less than 2 weeks and I was told because of my (medical issues ) there was nothing they could do So I decided I would give eSalon a try
I am beyond thrilled my hair has not been this soft or shiny in years the color is exactly what I wanted and it was so easy to do myself
I found my perfect color and I am still blown away by the price
And the fact that I did it myself WOW 😊

Colorist added 2 bottles of each for 2 rounds, so a total of 3 rounds. Getting ready to receive 3rd round n i am pleased with the color. It did not fade like before

I have darker hair so the gray in the front is VERY noticeable. I love how fully this hair dye covers it all. I do wish it would last longer but the reality is, it's so much better than store bought dye.

I have to admit that I was a little taken aback when I got an email informing me that my stylist had made a change to my color. I "thought" that I knew what I was doing. So, ok, fine, go ahead and send what you think I need. Well, needless to say, my stylist, Danielle S. knew exactly what my hair needed!!! The color was easy to apply, I loved the specific directions for roots vs ends. My hair is curly and dry, the other brand of color I had been using took up to 45 minutes to process and only made the ends worse! I was still a little nervous as to what the actual color would turn out to be, but I immediately loved it! And on top of that, I still ( 3 weeks later) get daily compliments on my beautiful red hair. Definitely five stars for eSalon!!

This hair color seemed to last longer covering those stubborn gray. I just had to get back on the plan. I have missed eSalon and I for one appreciate the expertise!

I can actually say that I've become better at coloring my hair. I love that the color stays on longer than before and I can be excited when my next color arrives because it arrives "just in time" I need to color my hair. I love this product, it doesn't smell and it's so easy. I just wish you'd insert more "removal wipes" in the box, 1 isn't enough - more like 3 would be good.

Born a natural redhead, but with the red fading out in my 30s, I've been trying to color my hair so that it's as close as possible to my natural color but have had little luck. Until now. The colorist who prepares my formula gets it spot-on. Even my hairstylist told me that my hair color looks great--and she said that when I was almost 2 months out from having colored it last.

I have lighter sandy blonde hair and asked for a "shiny" metallic golden light blonde. I cant afford to keep going to the salon to add highlights and lowlights to attain my desired look and box Drug Store options were too "flat" or monotone looking. I saw eSalon all the time on Pinterest showcasing red hair so I was leery to try it. The light blondes that they offered seemed limited but I finally decided to take the plunge and ordered. I got a Lightest Blonde with Pearl in in and it turned out looking Salon professional. The smell washed completely out and my dry hair smells great (drug store brands leave my hair smelling chemically treated for a couple of days so this was a huge plus). My hair feels soft and hydrated as well. So I definitely leave a "I LOVE IT" review!

The color is great but what I am most happy about is that I now know when to dye my hair. I used to wait too long- now I just use the product within a few days of receiving it. This way I don't have to think about it.

At first I thought it was a little bit too red and not the copper red I usually look for, but my husband likes it a lot and it has toned down a bit now, so I am very happy with this color. Thanks!

First time trying esalon and wasn't sure how the color would turn out based on not actually seeing someone. They NAILED it and it looks totally natural.

I really like my new redder hair color. My only issue is that red fades so much faster than other colors. When I used a more blond color, I fell in love with it every time. No fading, great coverage, and it lasted!!!

I have always had to go darker to avoid brassiness and frying my hair. With the online feedback tool (and the extensive initial input questionaire) and some minor adjustments, I now have the best color I have had that is closest to my natural color (without grays of course).

I love the color, but it seems to make the gray lighter. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I section, use small strands at a time, I do the crown area first, do you have any suggestions for the next color. Thank you.

i really love my new color i am naturally brunette and wanted something new so i went for a red brown and i love it looks great !!!! the only thing i noticed s that my hair seems a little dryer than it normally does after i color it but that being said i did have to color my whole head because i was changing colors instead of only doing the roots !!! very very pleased with my results other than that

The color was exactly the color I hoped it would be. Natural looking and shiny.
the product was a bit more difficult to apply than store bought but the result was definitely worth it.

We finally got the color right on the last try. When I went to a hairdresser, it came out different every time, and it was not necessarily a good thing. My hair is soft and the color is beautiful. Thank you for adding some youth to my appearance.
