Never again!Cancelling this service!!! First I want to say that I have been coloring my hair for close to 15 years both at a salon by a professional and at home myself. I used the bottle method as I have long hair and that is what I am used to when doing it myself. But here are my issues: -I got two bottles in my kit and while it was clear that they were different color formulas, the only instructions for using the second bottle was to use it if I used all of the first bottle. VERY confused as to why they were different colors then. -The smell/fumes of this product were so overwhelming, I was choking and dry heaving from them. -My hair was super matted from the product when I was trying to rinse it out and pulled a lot of hair out just trying to get my hands unstuck from the mess. -My hair has NEVER felt this damaged! I swam competitively for 13+ years and NEVER has my my hair felt this dried out and straw like. I am guessing I will be spending a lot of time over the next few days with deep conditioning treatments/masks on my head. If I didn't have some free samples of leave in conditioner from Birch Box stashed away, I would not have been able to comb my hair this morning and even then it took me about 10 minutes to comb through it this morning. First time Hair ColorColored my daughters hair for first time, followed instructions and we could not tell a difference in her hair when done. There was absolutely no difference in color. I supplied a picture when ordering color and described what we were looking for in regards to color. Poor Grey CoverageUnfortunately, the change of colour to a Medium Ash brown with Highlights in a Balayage style appears not to suit my hair as my grey's come through after the first wash which is not acceptable for a permanent colour. Nice product but doesn't cover grayThe only reason I ordered was to cover my ever increasing gray hair. The instructions were easy to follow and I was able to get the color even throughout EXCEPT for my gray hairs. Also, it ended up with much more red than there has been in other applications. I don't think I'll be using this again because I don't mind my natural color. I just want the gray gone. If you're using this just for regular hair color, I highly recommend it. color faded in two shampoosWhile the overall color was good, the gray coverage was noticeably faded after just two washes and fading quickly now! Asked for no gold undertones and got mostly gold undertonesThe color (medium brown) is VERY dark. Asked specifically for ashy, no golden undertones and got mostly medium gold/brown with a little blue in it. In a flash picture, the blue/brown is there but in the everyday daylight/sunlight - nothing but gold. I will say the color is shiny and the hair feels great, but overall, as far as getting what I requested, 1 out of 5 stars. Horrible colorI am usually pleased with my color. I wanted a Carmel rich color, instead my hair turned out black. It looks dull and no shine too. So upset. I followed the instructions exactly. I wanted a shade lighter, you sent me a shade DARKER!!I hate it, I wanted to go a shade lighter than my hair color already is and told you that and apparently you sent me the same color as my natural hair is only even darker! I had previously had a lighter hair color in my hair already and had to wait 3 months to try yours. Well I did today and even tho I said my natural color is med. Blonde I told you I wanted to go lighter and in fact what you sent me was EVEN DARKER than my natural shade. And to top it off I am stuck with a refill order for touchups on a color I hate. When my gray hairs grow back in they will be even more noticeable!!!😤. Very disappointedNo difference in my roots and my ends that were green and copper didn't completely improve. They were that color because they were bleached and dyed late last year and I was clarifying to lift the dye out. Both areas should have easily taken and all I got for results were some spotty accuracy in my ends. I can still see green in a lot of areas. I'm not pleased with the product or my results. A lot of time and effort for practically nothing to show for it. Just okI have to say that it definitely covered my greys but it was way too dark so I had to color my head inside of just the roots. And I’m glad I did because it is now an almost brown black. I had highlights too but had to cover them. And when washing my hair it was so “dry” I know that’s odd to say but it felt like a helmet. left my hair dirty and stickyThe first time I used your color product my hair turned out terrific.. the second time, not so much. I don't know if the formula changed, but the second shipment I got was terrible. First, the bottle top was way too small to get the color out.. I had to squeeze like crazy and even then could barely get any out.. i needed to cut a new hole in the top to make it work properly. And, then when I was done, and I followed all the steps as directed, my hair came out feeling really dirty and greasy-- it was like the shampoo didn't work at all. Problems just compound the more I useThe first time I got my color done at eSalon, I had little issues. The color looked good. My scalp itched a bit for about a week after. The subsequent colorings at home have caused the texture of my hair to become straw-like, damaged. I get regular cuts, leave in conditioner, etc. I had to resort of a mask made for correcting swimmers' hair damage. The scalp itching has become worse, each use and the last time I colored, I had to use Benadryl to calm it down for about 5 days. Clearly this is not for me. On top of this, I have noticed an increased hair loss, that I've never previously experienced (I'm including hair loss experienced after my two pregnancies as well). The hair loss is the final straw for me. The product is extremely strong-smelling. And though I get multiple comments, each time I color my hair, the color is not consistent - despite following the directions carefully and not adjusting the mixture at all. I am done with EsalonI have asked over and over to get hair dye that have no red tones and I want my hair to be ash brown. I also asked to change my stylist, since it seems like she either does not have expertise or she is not listening. My hair still has red tones and looks NOTHING like the picture that I sent more than half a year ago. I want a FULL refund on all the hair dye that was purchased from the very beginning. I am closing my account and going to a professional to get my hair done. Esalon has only promised me a guarantee that I would be satisfied but I have been way to patient and should have closed my account from the beginning. Colour didn’t takeI was very impressed with the colour that my colourist made for me, but the instructions are not great and aren’t made for everyone. It said to leave the colour in for 10 min which wasn’t long enough. I may as well not have coloured my hair. It also didn’t colour my roots very well. Faded quick..After 3 washes my hair faded drastically. I was supposed to recieve a permanent color but it seems like I got a semi permanent. Not the sameI've used e salon in the past with great results. I had no reason to believe this time would be different. I ordered the same color and instead of the dark brown with subtle highlights when the sun shines on it, I got a flat almost black color. I look like a witch. It's horrible and fake looking. The color I had recieved a number of years ago was so natural and close to my natural color my own air stylist didnt know I dyed it. Now everyone knows. Waxy and stickyI have colored my hair for several years. Decided to try ESalon due to the positive reviews. I was so DISAPPOINTED. Followed the instructions to the finest of details. My hair ended up waxy and sticky. It was horrible. I called customer service and was told to wash my hair with my regular shampoo mixed with a palm full of baking soda. It helped some but not entirely. Will have to try again and hope it removes the rest of the residue. The color wasn’t exactly what I had hoped for either. Will not be using this product again. Great color, didn't last long.I loved the color I got with this order. The only problem I noticed was that the color was just about faded out completely after 1 week. Is there a reason behind this? Not enough product and faded in 3 washesI am disappointed in this product, I have long and thick hair and the amount provided was not nearly enough to disperse through out my hair. I also noticed that it faded from my hair in 3 washes with my grey hair showing within one week of the application. Didn’t turn out as expected.Color was much darker than expected. Strand test was ideal. But my hair was balayage and my hair is just a darker form of it now instead of one solid color. you need to blend ash tonesI hated box colour as I could never get an ash tone, they would always have red in it!!! thought I'd try this company, still red tones. I asked for dark ash blonde, not good, so they added a lot of neutraliser but it isn't an ash tone at all. I have called several times and was informed that they do not have any blue based colours, why say that you do? I have used these people since September 2018 and I'm still really unhappy. the only good thing is that it really does cover greys. I think I'll learn to to mix well myself, be a lot cheaper!!! I received an Email presumably because I haven’t left a favourable review. My point is this, people do want ash toned hair colour now. All of your promotional pictures, including blonde, have red in them. I know that is all you have to offer but it’s not good enough to say your a salon with colourists when you do not offer a complete range of colour and tones! The formula is horrendous to get out and to make matters worse, I have tried calling you 8 times in two hours and I go straight through to voicemail. I then email, again, no response! Not What I ExpectedAs I emailed my concern with no response, anyway the amonia smell was overtaking and had to rinse after like 20 seconds. My hair color has faded and the grey is showing on hairline. I thought it would last longer than 3 1/2 weeks. I will try it one more time in July but for the cost and length of color besides the dryness it has created might not be the best. Far too darkThe colour saya light brown pearl mahogany. It is more of a dark plum colour. The colour i was aiming for was light brown with a rose gold colour. Its dark brown with a plum colour. Just no.The dye sent for my roots was lighter than the rest of my hair... so either you got the dye completely wrong or you mislabeled the color, either way, this Absolutely did not give me the specified look I desired. It did require me to make an emergency appt with a stylist I am unfamiliar with... which ended in disaster and me having to fix everything myself anyway. HORRIBLE. Never again. Also, I do not recall ever signing up for more than a one time shipment... definitely not after the first situation being so bad. I only came back here because I noticed they charged and shipped more of this. I no longer trust the people mixing the color or labeling the bottles- whatever. Someone made a mistake. BEYOND HORRIBLE!This is the worst experience I have ever had with hair color. Medium brown was very dark brown over nearly completely gray. NEVER should it come out this dark. All I want to do now is strip this off my hair or even shave my head and get a wig. It's that bad!!! The directions tell you to get in the shower of all things to wash the hair color off by bending over backwards (holding your head back)! That only gets more in my face which is also stained all over the place. Hair color is everywhere on everything and won't come off! Whitney’s colorI came in with an open mind to this experience seeing as the $35 cost. I set up my profile and chatted with salon manager and stylist about my hair goals (both red heads) and they didn’t get me close to the cooper red warmth I was trying to achieve in the pictures I put on my profile. I do however like the brownish /auburn hues 6.54 they got me. I’m just disappointed with the customizable sales pitch when it’s not at all the case. It’s more like the same risk of boxed hair dye. They showed me color swatch book, I picked cooper color swatch she put that in the Polly machine and it came out completely different color red ! Lots of damageI really wanted to love this color system. Unfortunately, while the color was pretty good, it was way, way too harsh for my fine, naturally curly hair. I am experienced with home coloring, and followed all directions to the letter, including using a timer for knowing when to wash it out. It smelled very strongly of ammonia, and my hair felt strawlike with a persistent gummy coating when I was done. It has taken a LOT of TLC to get my hair back to feeling somewhat normal. Color selected for me is way too dark & washes off easily.Color selected for me is way too dark, I was told it will be a "rich brown", there was no brown at all, it's black!!! This hair dye also washed off within 3 weeks even with the "tint rinse" & the shampoo & conditioner that I bought from eSalon. This is very disappointing, I have never been disappointed with any boxed hair dye that I bought from the store before, this is the first time ever that I became (extremely) unsatisfied by a hair dye . Do not orderI was a blonde so I ordered the intense red. It turned my hair orangest pink. All the color washed out. And because I had to recolor not only is my hair fried it no longer holds a color. Good product butI have to say this was easy to use and very gentle compared to some other products. I have it 2 stars because the color faded really fast and I use a high end color safe shampoo and conditioner. will never use againThis is by far the worst hair coloring product I have used. It is extremely runny and created a huge mess. I have never had this problem with any other hair coloring product. WORST customer service I have experienced in a LONG time!I have been a loyal customer of eSalon for 5-6 years. I recently thought I was adding shampoo and conditioner and root touch up to my color order at a reduced price. I was informed I could not get the reduced price bc my color had already shipped. It had not. In fact, I received the shampoo and conditioner and root touch up 1 week before my color. I spoke with customer service at different steps during this past 2 weeks. I was told I could return the shampoo and conditioner and root touch up but that was it. When I expressed how disappointing this whole experience had been and how I have been such a fan for over 5 years but that I will now be considering looking at other companies to get my hair color I was told that customer service would be happy to cancel my account for me! So that is what being a loyal fan of eSalon will get you! They lost a lifetime customer over 18.00!!! I was on repeat auto ship color every 5 weeks and recently began adding products to my orders and I was lied to about why I could not receive shampoo and conditioner at a reduced price and then when I expressed how this was handled poorly bc I received them a week before the color I was basically instructed on how to cancel my subscription. Need the lightening kit. It's one dimmensional.As a first time dying, it turned out far better than I expected. It has all over color, it has shine. Although I think the color I ordered is the actual color of my hair, when I look at it, it seems a shade darker than my normal color. I think that is because I normally have natural highlights in my hair and it is not just one color. So right now when I look at it, my hair looks dyed not natural. Not what I expectedI was so excited to try my color, but when I put in my color (followed the directions exactly the way it said), it barely made any difference. My second order I had them add more red and purple not realinzing it would be roots and ends. Again I followed the directions exactly as indicated and still no difference. Good process... not so good colour!I am a little disappointed by this product, especially as it was so much dearer than off the shelf dyes. The process was great and pretty straight forward. However, after two washes, the roots are a very warm (slightly orange) brown and the ends are a yellowy brown. Unfortunately I have had to revert to the shop bought dye and colour over it! Color Kit Fantastic!I colored my hair with the kit on May 19,2019, unfortunately the color was too dark and came out dark auburn very close to my own natural color however, that it not what I wanted. The gray is covered for now I liked the fact that everything I needed was in the kit,including an extra set of gloves. no gray covered!!!!I am frustrated!! I have mentioned to you guys about the color is good but the gray does not get covered!! I have washed my hair three times and stepped outside today and my Husband said to me. Your gray is due for a color. It's not what He said, it's what didn't get covered!! If I can't get good coverage I'm going elsewhere!! I am out $25.oo plus with the thought that I can't trust that my hair has to be colored every other week...
