Orange roots, not ash!Turned my silvery grey roots to orange. Color has red in it maybe? I am more that 50 percent grey and HAD a level 8 blonde highlights...until I had to tone it all myself to try to blend this out. Now I gotta go to the salon to spend more money. I asked for lighter and less grayColored my hair this morning. It is not even close to a light or golden blonde shade. It’s not dishwater blonde to light brown with a gray hue. I’m very not happy. Even my 5 year old neighbor boy noticed my hair is exponentially darker. I hate this color. I do not like the shampoo and conditioner you sentHi I really don't like the idea that you substituted the usual shampoo and conditioner for Altera Caviar shampoo and conditioner samples. First off, they are half the size of your usual shampoo and conditioner. If you want to include a free sample, that is up to your marketing dept., but don't substitute it for what the customer expects to get . It's just not the right way to market something new. Not sure what happened this time but not too happyI just got my second color done and I’m disappointed. I requested better coverage, which appears to be there but my hair was left like straw!! I have never had a color dry my hair this way. I also lost huge chunks of hair!! I don’t know if they used a different brand of color or what, but the soft shiny hair that I got the first time went the complete opposite this time. Pas les résultats escomptésJ'ai envie d'aimer eSalon, le concept est vraiment bon, mais je n'ai pas eu les résultats que je voulais... J'ai les cheveux brun très foncé et j'étais censée avoir un brun chocolat glacé avec la teinture. Les explications sont précises et claires, mais je ne vois quasiment pas de différence, à peine des reflets au soleil. Reasonable hair colourFirst parcel arrived after 3 weeks, packaging was damaged and hair dye was everywhere. Got replacement about week or so later. Colour was too dark. It has since been adjusted and I find it still too dark. I personally don’t notice much difference between a shop bought hair dye and this and there is a fair difference in price. I have really long thick hair and require 2 dyes. I tried but not thrilledI tried product twice. Second time was for free since I was not happy first time. Unfortunately, my grays are hard to cover and this product just didn’t cover very well at all. Also as it fades it has a reddish hue which I do not like. I feel it dried out my hair. Deceive and IgnoredI had asked for my color to be lighter then it pervious orders and to add more copper. What was wrong with the new order was I was only sent a roots refresher. How is only doing my roots going to lighten the color of my hair!? Instead it DARKENED my hair after following the instructions precisely. Second when I contacted customer service the response was rather rude and ignored what I said... Not impressedTried this product twice and both times the color was not what I wanted nor did it cover the gray hairs. I wanted more cool tones and was specific that I did not want any tones of red or warmth, ...which is exactly what I got and no gray coverage. Called immediately (Sent pictures both times btw) and they added a neautralizer and said it would help cover the gray, but might be a little darker at first. Tried it again, and again a reddish, brassy (Warmer tone) not darker, just brassy. Also, hardly any gray coverage. Longest wait time....I was billed for my order on June 8, 2020 and today is June 23rd and have not received my shipment. This is frustrating as there is no "contact button" for E-salon so they can check into it. Tracking says that I've received it twice. Need to figure something else out. Enhanced coloring productIn this shipment I received an enhanced color product that was creamier and rinsed out easier. Those 2 things were for sure, but it left my hair wiry, dry and matted up. I have never had this happen since 2015. Please advise if I need to stay with the old coloring product. Totally wrongI Spent the past 2 years growing all the color out of my hair and letting the gray come in. I debated a long time about coloring it again. I finally decided to as I’ve also decided to cut it much shorter. I was very clear that I wanted a cool ashy brown with NO red or gold. Even got the supposed rinse to tone out any red. Well, I’m basically a redhead now. With any light my hair is at beat a VERY golden brown. At worst it looks like a penny. I am absolutely furious that I trusted this company. Normally I don’t do business with a company that doesn’t have a phone number listed but just got careless I guess. 5 tries and still no satisfying resultThe color was supposed to neutralize the brassy orange in my hair and what did it do? It turned my roots orange! Again! The only part of my hair that had a nice neutral brown color. This was the fifth try!! After every try they supposedly changed the color, I explained again what I wanted, showed pictures, everything possible. The service is great, but the color is not. Not effective coverage over grays.Followed instructions to a T, left color on 35min, and the greys are showing through. Used medium brown. Been successfully coloring my roots for years. The stain remover does not work on skin, but does work on countertop. I will say packaging is lovely but who cares if product doesn't work. User reviewThe product was okay and will probably give a better result if I am a professional. I had a hard time working on the actual coloring of the strands, separating sections and subsections. Using the brush to color, and keeping the sections away from each other is harder than I thought. By the time I finished coloring, my arms are so tired from being raised for so long. I also do not know how the hair on the back side of my head came out. I could still see some grays even thought I followed the time required to leave it. Did not lighten my hair, or cover grey.The colorist suggested this color because the shade I wanted was too light for me. She told me I would also receive a highlight kit, which I did not receive. Roots/ends different colors and ends were bright very fake looking copper redThe intended color wasn't achieved - the ends were a very fake looking shade of reddish copper and my roots are a VERY dull shade of brownish reddish yellow with a strange look. Roots/ends do not even come close to matching. Also the color was EXTREMELY high in ammonia, my hair feels really damaged and made my scalp SUPER itchy. Follwed directions to a T. Very disappointed. what happenned?i put color on my roots and left it on for 45 minutes. i did not wash my hair for 3 days. after about a week i had only washed my hair twice. the color has completely lifted off my roots at the hairline above my forehead. i had to use the powdered root cover up that i usually have to use after a few weeks w the drug store box of dye i sometimes use. i am extremely disappointed . Lots of changesI have been using eSalon for 7 years. This is my first bad experience. I did not receive a shampoo or conditioner packet in my "kit". The gloves were blue medical looking gloves, not the fancy feeling white, pink, or other fun color, which broke when I put them on. The developer was a different color (opaque white vs clear white) and the smell was very strong and stung my eyes. Lastly, I color my hair every 3 weeks and use the root treatment and ends refresher each time. Turned my hair orange$400 later and I finally look “normal”. As a blonde in quarantine I got desperate and ordered from esalon hoping to bridge the gap until Salons reopened. This proved to be a very $$ mistake. Dye is NOT meant for blondes. I typically highlight. I ended up with a brassy orange mess. Esalon offered to send a toner but since it took 3 weeks to ship the color due to the pandemic I wasn’t willing to wait. They refunded my purchase - so customer service was good. That was the only good thing. I went to local beauty supply and tried toner. A little improved but still Orange. Luckily I was able to get into a salon in a neighboring state to correct the mess. Highly recommend a stronger color formula to lift root growth for all over colorThe process of application was simple & quick, which was great. My issue now is that my roots are a completely different color than the rest of my hair, appearing orange and unbalanced. DisappointedI was under the impression, Esalon color was supposed to be equal to salon color.....it isn't. My roots, when using box color, turn an ugly blondish red, the salon colorist explained why, it has to do with the developer box color uses, opposed to what salons use, when I get my hair colored at the salon, its all one color, no ugly blonde red roots. I used the eSalon today, with high hopes, to my dismay......ugly blonde red roots, so now my hair is two colors. Plus, its such a hassle to get into the shower to finish up, you can't pour the water over your hair, with your head tilted back, don't tilt far enough, you end up pouring it down your face, tilt too far back, the water doesn't pour down your hair, it pours directly onto the shower floor. You're supposed to use plastic clips to hold the sections of hair, the clips are not included, something you don't know when you buy, but you need them, so, you have to go try and find some. I canceled the auto ship before I even used the product, for other reasons, but, I would have anyway, after having used it. Editing previous review.......after less than 2 weeks of using this product, I'm already seeing a lot of grey coming back and, my hair looks ugly and faded. Missing items in the kitFirst, I want to say I was very satisfied with my first coloring kit, instructions and experience using it. I received my 2nd order beginning of June......just opened the box and unfortunately was kind of disappointed. In the box there was no brush applicator, no shampoo, no conditioner....... in addition to the coloring kit, provided was only stain guard and one pair of gloves (although I recall receiving an email that number of gloves will be reduced - so no issues here). Was supposed to be dark blondeI ordered a kit and the colorist actually said I should go lighter that the color I picked, so I agreed. The color I picked was a light brown and she recommended light blonde. I received my kit today and was extremely excited to color my hair. I was supposed to be dark blonde, that’s what it says on the package. It turned out almost black......I am not happy, if I could give negative stars, I would. I like the productBut the color is darker than I would like. I recorded but didn't get opportunity to try a different color. This shade is too dark. Uneven colourOrdered this product with high hopes based on the reviews id seen. It arrived in lovely packaging with my name on the colour bottles. Everything i needed from gloves to stain removal wipes. Was a bit apprehensive as apart from going red once I've been blonde for years. Followed the instruction to the letter. My hair is still 2 colours with long roots. Only difference is its darker. I decided on this shade as i was told it was the only way to get an even all over colour. I messaged twice on my account page to question this. Still no reply. UnhappyThe color was OK, although I thought it would be more dimensional. But it didn't cover the gray! That's the whole point of me coloring my hair is to cover the gray and it didn't. DisappointedI really wanted to like this. The ordering process was simple, the products arrived in a reasonable time and everything was packaged nicely. The directions were straightforward and simple. I truly expected everything to go smoothly. Unfortunately, the results were a disaster. I requested a dark blonde shade to even out my growing partial highlights and get rid of my roots. What I got instead was a bottle that said dark blonde but in reality turned my hair into a medium orangey brown! The color is awful and nowhere near the results I expected. I would have been better off using a box color. I'm extremely disappointed! Edited to add: I will amend this review as soon as a fix is received. My colour stayed the same, no copper or red...just brown.My first order was back at the beginning of May 2020. Everything was going great until after a couple of weeks, I noticed that my shipment had not moved from a sorting facility in Los Angeles. Understanding that there were to be some delays during the COVID-19 pandemic, I reached out to eSalon through email to find out what may have happened. Assuming USPS had lost my package, the person I spoke with said that eSalon would send my order again at no charge. Great! I waited a few days, and my order shipped like usual. This time, eSalon used a different mailing service. I live in Ontario so I knew that it probably wouldn't be here in just a few days. About 3 weeks later, I received my hair colour. I washed my hair the night before and it was too late in the evening to start colouring so I decided to wait till the next day. The colour I choose was a Medium Brown Copper Mahogany. My hair had a grown out balayage with a warm, golden blonde on the ends. The process of dyeing my hair by myself was.....messy. I used the bowl method instead of the bottle and was also in a hurry because I wanted to get it all done before my daughter woke from her nap. (No surprise, she took a short nap.) The mixture was not nearly as smelly as the stuff you get from the drugstore. The mixture was turning purple in the bowl and I didn't think much of it because the colour of the mixture is not necessarily what's going to be on your head, correct? Anyways, I read all the instructions, proceeded as normal and then washed it all out. When choosing the colour, I assumed my natural hair colour was a medium brown, but maybe I should have said it was a dark brown because the end colour I got was basically just brown. It turned my lighter ends a dark brown and there are no obvious hints of copper. Maybe I chose the wrong colour, but I was expecting a medium copper red and got brown. Luv the color....butSadly like all Haircolor products, my grays still show! I have to just come to the conclusion that I need to embrace this.
