this time did not work wellI was usually very happy with my hair color but before last order did provide very extensive explanation on what change has been done to my hair (ombre) and that I would like a little help on finding the right color. I haven't received any answer. Didn't do much!Sad to say my first experience wasn't the greatest. I had high hopes because my hair was actually back to it's original color (dishwater blonde) so I thought going light ash blonde would have been easier than in the past. I asked for light ash blonde, sent a picture and followed the instructions to a T! It barely looks like I did anything. My hair is still what I would call a dark to medium dishwater blonde, not "light" at all. My darkest roots have the peroxide lightened blonde look (brassy) but that's about the only change. On the bright side, being a long time blonde both from a salon and at home, it could have been A LOT worse and I'm glad it did less than expected rather than making my hair crazy bright orange or yellow. The smell wasn't bad for an at home coloring either and even though I have longish hair, I only ended up using one bottle of each instead of two! Wrong color/highlightsI specifically requested alight (golden) brown with No Red highlights! When I followed all the directions, my hair was a dark reddish brown. It covered the 3 inches I had grown out during the pandemic. The tint rinse I used after increased the reddish color. The new shipment that’s yet to arrive is supposed to be applied only to the new roots...I’m afraid I’ll end up with “zebra stripes” on my hair. My new color rocks!Last week I decided to change my color shade slightly and I went with a beautiful chocolate brown with a touch of mahogany. I used the color last night and OMG I am in love with this color. It's absolutely perfect. Thank you! EDIT: This review no longer applies. My last color set, with no changes was awful. It gave me lighter hot roots and did not color greys. They sent me a corrected color, and while the color was better, it still no longer does a good job with greys. Complete color missI have been coloring my mousy light brown hair a vibrant light to medium red with violet under tones for two years now. I’ve used all methods from box kits at Walmart, crazy expensive salons, and yes even eSalon. I really want to use eSalon but for some reason each time I try the colorist continues to give me a brown shade. I am Not wanting red undertones on a brown base. I include updated photos of my current hair along with the photos I am hoping to attain without returning to my salon. Alas it was another miss. Unhappy with resultI had better hair color from the grocery store. I colored my hair 2 days later my gray was showing. Colored it again when my next order came followed the instructions carefully same result. Didn't deliverI colored my hair and followed instructions as indicated in package; however, the greys were not really well covered. I still had grey hairs that didn't take the color and some that were more like reddish then dark brown. So the claim that covers the greys is not accurately true. Not impressedI used the separate roots and ends colours as instructed and now my roots and ends are different colours. Roots are really purply red and I was aiming for auburn. The ends aren't really the colour I was hoping for either. My hair is dark so I'm not expecting a drastic change but it's just got a vague coppery tint which I don't really like. Having the two different colour bottles made it a total faff in my opinion - I'm used to normal, single bottle at home hair dye which I find far easier to apply - and I won't be purchasing again. Not for me!This colour system just did not suit my hair. My hair is straight and silky. While I was putting this colour on, I could feel it drying my hair out, it felt like straw. I thought it would get better when I washed it out and conditioned it but it didn’t. My shine was gone, my hair was dull and flat. It took a month of washing my hair every day to get my shine back. PlanI’ve asked twice to be taken off of this plan and they still haven’t done it. I’ve emailed and called and they said they would do it but they haven’t and they are still taking money out of my account! They also don’t pay me back for my shipping which is £5 each time so all together i’ve lost £10 on shipping and another £20 on this stupid hair dye! Great colour serviceUnfortunately I only gave my colour three stars as I think I waited to long to decide to colour my hair and the colour did not take well at all on my roots. Good color but....I liked the color, but I wanted to cover the reddish tones left in my hair by a previous dye. Hair fell out!!Oh, hell no. I colored my hair and now I’m going bald! I’ve used hair colors at home for 20 years and while sometimes i don’t like the color results, I’ve never had this happen (not even close!). It’s terrible and I’m so angry! I really wish i could upload photos so you can see exactly what it did. It completely fried my hair and I’m now going bald. Very, very angry. Oh, almost forgot! The hair that’s still in my head is broken and split. I have fine, straight hair that is, or was, in perfect condition. I don’t use hair products other than shampoo and conditioners, i don’t use anything with silicone, parabins, sulfates etc and I never use heat. I had very shiny, silky hair with virtually no split ends prior to coloring it. The hair that hasn’t fallen out is now dull, split and bent. Not what I wantedI wanted a bold purple look so I may gradually work in other colors. After being told my hair was too dark, I bleached it blonde to get more of the purple. Hair dried out, like straw and dullTo Whom It May Concern: I don't know if there was a change to the formula this time, but my hair is so dry it feels like straw. I left the color on for 30 minutes as usual. If you could please give me some guidance as to how I can remedy this. I am an otherwise very happy eSalon customer and want to stay with this service. If you could send me some advice as to what to do with this very dry and now dull hair I'd be grateful. My scalp is also a little 'burny' i.e., it tingles and feels a bit hot. FYI, shortly after I started using the product it began frothing and foaming out of the applicator bottle. I should have photographed it but thought it was just that I'd shaken too vigorously. Didn’t cover my roots.This is the second time when I received my order. First time it was perfect. Covered my roots properly. Loved the color. Everything was perfect. But this time it’s totally a different story. When I applied color as per instructions into my roots and leave it little longer then recommended time because my hair takes longer to catch the color. It didn’t work for me at all. As soon as I washed my hair most of the color had gone. Roots were so light in color then my whole head. Seems like I didn’t dye my hair at all. It was our big celebrations and my hair dyed in two tones. I couldn’t get another color on time from other store because of lockdown. I’m extremely upset about wasting my time and money. DisappointedNice try but I’m just not getting the rich red I want. Your mix is more brown with reddish tones. Plus, the mix smelled too strongly of ammonia and left my hair a little dry. It was not the color that I requestedThe instruction was not for the people who do not know how to color their hair. The color was not the one that I expected. The top of my hair was like carrot and the rest of my hair did not get any color during the time that was in instruction. Utter disappointmentI filled out the colour questionnaire and sent in my photo - selecting a medium blonde colour for my medium/light brown./auburn hair. I was so excited, I have been wanting to update my colour for a while now and go lighter for summer. I ordered with a special offer of 2 packs of colour for 10 euros and thought I was #WINNING. However, you can imagine my disappointment that the product took almost 2 weeks to arrive, then when I used the first bottle, making sure I followed all the instructions, washed it out and dryed my hair, there was ZERO change. I tried the second bottle, again following all instructions only to come with the same result, No change in my hair colour. I still have medium/light brown./auburn hair. I remember reading while I was doing the questionnaire and sending in my photo that if the colourist thought there would be an issue with the chosen shade, they would get in touch, nobody did so I was expecting to get my lovely medium blonde hair. Not all it’s cracked up to beDuring the pandemic i was looking for a way to manage my greys while my hair stylist was unavailable due to reoccurring lockdowns. Then, I stumbled on esalon and figured I’d hit the jackpot - affordable haircare that wouldn’t kill my hair like drugstore dye. I really wanted to love this product, but I just didn’t. I picked a subtle purple because I’m WFH and figured I could experiment. The colour I got was nothing like I ordered... in fact, while it did dye my bathroom purple, it left my hair more of an auburn red. Thought the purple tint rinse would help, but it didn’t. When I contacted esalon to cancel my subscription they offered to send me a revised custom colour at no cost... I still wanted to love them so I gave it a shot. Unfortunately, same result :( not even a hint of purple. Plus, now that it’s been about 4 weeks I’m noticing how bad it fades... I’d honestly rather have greys poking out than what I’ve been left with. Good color but damagingThis has been damaging my hair worse than bleach did. The color is at least almost spot on to what I want. Good in a pinch, not for regular useI could not make it to the salon because of my busy schedule, so I used this like I did during quarantine. It's good in a bind for a quick fix but not for all the time use if you have stubborn grey. It takes so long (I have a lot of hair) and honestly the grey coverage is not great. My grey is very stubborn around my face and it was barely covered. Only lasted probably one or two washes. Not impressedThis is my second try using this product and I've been thoroughly unimpressed both times. First time I tried it the gray coverage lasted for only a few days. UgggghI asked for a neutral dark blonde base. It was too dark (a dark auburn brown) and too red. I told esalon. Their answer was to do highlights the lighten it up. I used their base color 3 times asking for lighter and less red each time. Every time it got darker and more red. And, I only did the roots. But this color spreads down the shaft on its own while you wait the allotted time. They’ve told me there is no way to fix the situation — only to go darker. If I had known that from the beginning, I would have chosen a much lighter base. I’m extremely disappointed with eSalon and my now dark copper hair. Not impressedI have persevered with this however the colour has really poor staying ability and fades extremely quickly. The rinsing off process is extremely unpleasant as the dye seems to be very high in ammonia/peroxide and although I am not asthmatic it makes me wheeze. Was Not Happy This TimeI must say I was quite disappointed with the results. I wanted it much lighter and I got closer to the color of my hair color that it is now which is burgundy.
