Coverage of grey/white hair Failed to cover rootsFollowed directions very closely. Once hair was thoroughly covered with product left on for 30 minutes. Applied remainder of color with water and massaged into hair before showering. Perhaps it doesn't work on short coarse hair. Or it needs to be on longer than 30 minutes. Unhappy with color and customer service!I was so excited to finally color my hair after going gray, post-chemo. The color was too light and my roots around my face still looked gray. I emailed immediately to ask how soon I could re-dye or touch up my hair. That was almost three weeks ago, and I still haven't gotten a response. I went into my account to cancel my next order and was offered free color for the next time. I was told I would be contacted by, "my colorist" to discuss the color. It looked really good for 2 weeksThis does not cover gray :( and unfortunately that’s the only reason I color my hair. It is cheaper to order it twice a month than seeing a stylist once every 8 weeks but, I have to get my hair cut anyway around that time and would have need to to dye my hair with this brand 4 times.. No overall color or grey coverageWhen I had my color custom made I specifically stated I wanted my hair all one color since I was still growing out at balayage. I was sent to different shades and I also stated my hair was prone to turning red which it did. Did not like the golden colorI was sent the same color as I had when I started with you a while ago. I stopped getting it and thought I would try again. My hair is dark brown (I mean dark dark brown) I just wanted it a little lighter, the girl sent me the same thing as before. I even sent her a picture of my hair. I do not like the golden as it wears on it looks really good, which is not what I want. To me who ever done the color this time just look up what I had and sent it. Waste of my money. My hair is still 2 different colorsI colored my hair and ended up having hot roots. I contacted esalon via email twice, and no response. I finally called and was put on the phone with a colorist that said "easy fix" and another kit was sent to me. I was excited to have this "easy fix" but my roots are still a different color that the rest of my hair, they just aren't orange. Disappointed. I have to see a professional to fix. This is the first time this has ever happened and now I am very hesitant to even color my hair again myself. No product receivedI still have not received my first order-ordered May 20th. I have since cancelled my account as I have not been able to try your product and my hair dresser is back in business. Not satisfiedThe top of my hair is very yellow on top. When I first color it looks good after 4 weeks it starts turning gray and yellow on top at the roots by week 5 it’s all yellow and gray mix. Not better than box dyeI sent in a photo so the colorist could see what my hair looked like. Clearly due to quantitative, there was alot of grey. I requested a all over color, dark brown, no black. What I got was patchy coverage of the grey in the back and sides of my head, and 1 side of grey coverage above my forehead. I am left with random light brown patches where color didnt work, the grey wasnt covered and black hair from my neck down and dark brown color on my head. I have used box dye in the past and it has never left patches and inconsistent color coverage. So I assumed eSalons product would be of superior quality and wouldn't have any issues. At the worst, I thought I wouldn't like the color. Never did I expect the mess I got. Now I have to spend more money for a color correction to fix this. It started pinkish light brown ...So it's turn it out pretty good initially, as I was going for a pinkish light brown/dark blond... But now it's turned into this very copper-ish darker brown that I don't like. This color changed too much, despite me purchasing their shampoo/rinse & tint to use in between washes. And unfortunately they shipped yesterday the same color... I think I just wanna go back to my own color which was a Light ash Brown. Ups and downsPackaged really well and arrived quickly, lovely touches having my name on the bottles extra. A little disappointed with the colour I’m definitely a mid to dark brunette instead of dark blonde. Very chocolatey which is really not what I wanted. I wanted to cover brassy tones in my blonde hair by going a little darker and now I’m not even close to blonde. I had a very very brief phone call on an American number from which I was disconnected twice and simply told I wasn’t going to be the colour I’d chosen but I’d still be blonde. All in all a really great product and service but clarity on the colour needs to be more of a focus as in my case I’ve now essentially ruined four years of salon treatments going blonde. Still left with dark roots - waste of timeI purchased a permanent dye plus an ends refresh. The ends worked well - colours good, vibrant, but I think that the eSalon colour is trading off the good work of my normal salon. The roots which are around 10/15cm were a failure - there’s no visible change to my hair unless you shine a bright light on my head. In daylight there is still an obvious place where my roots end and my original colour began. When I placed my order, I provided photos of my hair colour taken by my stylist several months ago as a guide, so I don’t understand the failure. I’ve messaged my colourist and sent photos to show why I’m disappointed, but I’ve not had any response. Rich package, poor productI was so anxious to see the amazing results using two different shades on my hair, one for the roots and one for the length, that I got extremely excited to open the beautiful package when it arrived in my house. I used it while recording a video to post online, so sure it’d work! Poor me. I’ve ended up with an orange root and a red hair. It didn’t color my whites (and a have just a few of them here and there), and it has left my hair heavy and dry for a few days. Really disappointed. I really wanted this to have worked out, but it was a complete disaster! Not 100% happyUnderneath is a different colour and the top of my head is still grey but lighter. The photos I uploaded look like I'm blonde but I'm grey as most of my hair now is grey except underneath. I didn't need a refresh as I had virtually no colour in my hair except for underneath and a few strands. I hope it works next time as I will cancel if not. I had high hopes for esalon. AwfulI have used esalon in years past and I used to love it. However starting up again last month using the product, it’s awful, I followed directions exactly and yet after I washed my hair Thoroughly there were still black patches all over my scalp and when I touched my head I had black all over my fingers it was awful. Not good for gray hairsI asked for dark brown with copper color to do an ombre. The combination worked but unfortunately my gray hairs did not take the colors both dark brown and copper. Great idea, poor execution...My low rating is more for my overall experience and not judging the product. My color goals are just not possible with an at-home approach. The coloring products quality were really nice and deserve a 5/5 rating. The instructions however were confusing and I do not feel like it was as effective as it could me. I confirmed this with a color specialist. The instructions get a 2/5 rating. Take my opinion with a grain of salt. Review of dyeWaited a very long time for delivery. When received I applied as directed. When the dye came off not a grey hair was covered and very little color took on the rest of my head! Sent wrong hair colorI ordered red hair color. They emailed me with a question about it, but by the time I responded they'd already sent the color and changed it to medium brown. I don't understand why they would take the red out completely. Now I have hair color I can't use. Not good at allThe color (dark brown) I picked didn’t change my root color (soft black) at all and only colored (darkened) the highlighted portion. It is more like a toner color rather than a permanent hair color. Color started fading away after two washes! Not worth the time I spent to color my hair nor the money! Poor applicationI have emailed three times to no response. I also tried calling and was cut off. This has caused me to cancel my future orders. I did not receive a brush with my last two orders. I did not discover the missing brush until I had already applied the solution which resulted in poor coverage. I checked the next box and it also did not include a brush. I have been trying to contact someone as to how to return this product as it won’t work for me to no avail. I now have a $27 product on my shelf that is a waste. Perfect color matchMy colorist matches my color perfectly. I originally came up with golden blonde when taking the quiz but sent a color and my colorist changed it to light blond and it was perfect. GoneI love my color. It is stunning and I am very pleased with one exception......it’s GONE! I put it on on May 18 and I am back to my pre- application color. I only shampoo twice a week with Framesi Color Lover shampoo and conditioner, and I cover my hair when outside. I am hopeful that this can be remedied with the tint rinse I ordered with my next order. Missing productsI did not receive everything I ordered and paid for. I was missing the second set of gloves, and also the shampoo and conditioner. This hasn’t happened before so not sure why it happened now. Hopefully this doesn’t occur again in the future. I did receive a sample of another product that was sent in the box and it said it was for dry hair, which I do not have. I ended up using it because I didn’t get the kit, needless to say it left my hair dry and frizzy after my color. Mistake in my orderI received an all over color with my root set that I didn't order. At first I thought that was so great of eSalon to include something extra for no charge and I still think that IF they put more thought into it. It was too dark and turned all of my hair brown and I'm a blond. The only reason I used it is because I trusted eSalon and assumed it was the right thing for my hair since they included it with my set. I can't wait to get my color done at a salon so I can get rid of this brown. Did not coverI had my Daughter do my hair with the brush supplied so I would not miss anywhere. I could still see the gray at the hair line and part especially at the top back of my head. I don't know if my hair is just stubborn or not conducive with your product but I have had better results from a store brand. The strong smell was nauseating, color way offThe smell of the product was so strong that even though I had the ceiling fan and AC on, I thought I was going to pass out. Could barely breath. Had to finish applying it outside in my backyard and even then, the smell was awful. Then after surviving the application and the 30 min, the outcome was not at all the color I wanted. Kein Kundenservice und Farbe viel zu dunkel - enttäuschend!Obwohl ich ein Foto von mir hochgeladen hatte und genaue Angaben gemacht hatte, fiel die Farbe leider enttäuschend aus. Viel zu dunkel und fleckig, obwohl ich der Anleitung minutiös folgte und mir vorab auch noch die Videos dazu angesehen hatte. Was aber das Schlimmste ist: Ich rief am Tag, nachdem ich gefärbt hatte, bei eSalon an, es kam nur ein AB und bis heute erfolgte kein Rückruf. Auch auf meine Mail reagierte niemand. The color is exactly what I wanted...but the product is very harsh and the smell of ammonia almost overwhelming. Although I am happy with the color I do not think I will be ordering from esalon again. ***Update, I use only the finest shampoos and conditioners formulated specifically for color-treated hair but my hair now looks brassy. Ash Blonde ended up Strawberry blondeI wanted an ash blonde and it ended up being a strawberry blonde almost red and was very brassy I did have toner on hand as I know blonde colors tend to come out brassy and I do have slightly red undertones in my hair but I was very unhappy with how the color came out overall even after using the toner and getting rid of most of the brassiness I was left with a strawberry blonde/red color. Customer service fantastic. Color not so muchNeither is the website I've tried three different times to cancel and it seems to not have gone through! 💔 The ladies have adjusted my color twice and it still has not covered my gray I have dark brown hair with red /golden natural highlights and I now look like I have a light brown stripe on the top of my head with gray in it. I think I'm just going to order some dark brown from Sally's and I'm sure I can't do worse than this. 😩🙏🏼... I've sent three or four pictures I've spoke with two or three women who were wonderful. And yet the color is still not covered my gray. So right after I got the color this last time I tried to cancel my order so I thought just for giggles I'd take a look and it looks like you planning on sending me another order on the 12th Well please don't I don't want it It's not working. It's very very high-priced 💔💔for something that doesn't work for me at all. There is no satisfaction guaranteed which is a pity. I'm really tired of wearing a hats. Like I told the girls and customer service that were helping me with my color I left it on for. 50 minutes And it still didn't cover. The first time then the 2nd color was changed to a darker brown and 50 minutes again so never mind I do not want it. Too much money for nothing No thank you. Didnt lighten enoughI’m disappointed. I asked for a change from dark brown to light:medium brown which required a developer strong enough to lift the color from my hair a bit. My first tryI loved how the product was presented in a nice pink box. Everything was easy to use from start to finish. Unfortunately, the hair dye has a very strong odor that burns my eyes & throat. If the hair dye could smell like soft fresh flowers, these products would be a hit! I would give a 5 stars, but the odor was way too strong. I do loved my hair color result, & I do like the shampoo with conditioner samples. They smell really good. Made my hair feels smooth, light & smell beautifully. DisappointedThe product smelled strongly of ammonia!! And I shouldn't have applied the color.......but I took a chance! Hair colourI decided to dye my hair black... have to honestly say it was great when I first used it. Don’t smell like box dyes and didn’t itch my head. I decided to hold off on the review until I knew how the colour settled. The colour has only lasted 2 weeks, which I’m a little disappointed in as this cost way much more than a box dye. diy haircolor made easyI found it easy to color my hair with this. I really like the fact that you can either use the bush or bottle to color. I noticed that after I colored my hair though, it seemed slightly hard or fried in a way? And I was hoping that the color that was meant for me, had more of a blue tinged to it. Didn't cover white hairsI was disappointed in my color this time. I left the product on for even longer than the recommended 15 minutes after applied, and at my temples where I actually have white hairs that is why I am coloring at all, it did not cover the white/grey. HAIR BREAKING OFF!!!My greys were not covered and my hair felt unusually coarse as I washed the dye out right after processing. Huge disappointment.
