Turned my hair blackI wanted to cover my greys and get a slightly lighter bit of brown running through my hair. Instead, after following the instructions to the letter, I have ended up with black hair. The worse color everUnfortunately I am so disappointed with how it turned out. I have been with esalon for a while with the demi permanent color, and always loved how the color turned out. I just asked to change to the permanent color for better gray coverage, unfortunately the color is completely off. My hair has a extremely uneven color. Very red roots. Did not cover greysThe main thing I wanted from eSalon, besides a refresh, was grey coverage and my colour didn't give me that. Though the lengths and ends are beautiful and my hair does feel smoother if not a little dried out from the chemicals, the most important thing to me is the coverage. The colour did not cover my greyI was so excited about having a custom colour as I had taken to mixing two different shades of standard hair colour to cover my grey. I am no stranger to hair colouring and did not anticipate any issues. I left the product on for 5 minutes over the recommendation. Didn’t work for meThis product didn’t cover my gray at all. I applied as instructed, starting with the roots, even left it on longer. Washed my hair with the shampoo provided and was left with gray roots and red ends. Can’t get it rightGranted my red color has always been a challenge to professionals but when I said I want to go a shade or 2 darker I didn’t mean send me 2 bottles of 60% brown 40% red. Don't like new formulaBeen a client for years but the changed formula washes out in a couple weeks and doesn't completely cover my gray anymore. My hair is coming out too brassy and seems dry. Didn’t cover gray hairsThe grays started showing through the day after I colored my hair even though I didn’t shampoo it! This is the second time I have contacted Esalon about the problem. It appears my hair color product was processed anyway without changing the developer or strength of the color. Now you’re trying to send and charge me for the same hair color that isn’t working. Not happyRequested colour change as the first one already faded after 1 wash and I ended up with patchy hair and I followed instructions to the letter they changed colour by half a shade order said I’d be receiving two bottles as colour was changed!! Holiday colorI loved the color and the way it turned out...but i headed to Florida and spent 2 weeks in the sun and the color totally bleached right out of my hair. I don't know if it was the sun and salt water from the ocean and the hot tub...but it's totally gone and im left with streaks from where the Lightner was applied . Did’t cover the grey!I watched the video, read the instructions fully. I did the front of my head first as that’s were I notice the most grey. I then started at the back and worked forward as had already colored the frame of my face. After following the steps doing all roots for 25 min. Then cover all over for 5 minutes. They tell you to fill the rest of the bottle before showering and pour thru your hair when you get in the shower.🙄 I will say I loved the shampoo and conditioner were nice. What a waste of money!I ordered a second box, thinking I did something wrong because the 1st time the color didn't stay in at all. I did follow all instructions, even had my husband help me the 2nd time! STILL NO COLOR. DisappointedTurned out to be a level 1 black on the middle and ends of my hair. The goal was an overall level 5 chocolate brown. There should have been a protein filler added to my box so the porous areas of my hair(mainly ends) did not process so dark. I contacted this company three times to say I wanted to speak with someone before shipment and twice, the company disregarded my request. Three orders were billed and sent to me anyway. This is poor service and unethical asks the girl I spoke with today was less than helpful and when she could have corrected this issue, as usual, nothing was done. Not black or blueI had high hopes for this after my roommate suggested it….but this didn’t color my dark brown hair black or blue despite the vibrancy I saw while coloring it. The only reason this got 2 stars instead of 1 is because it did cover some of my grays. Not sure if I should adjust the color again or just call it quits and get a refund. Not worth the hassle or the priceI've used this color several times now and I've arrived at the conclusion that it's no better than a regular, drugstore box color. It actually leaves my hair feeling more damaged than the $12 John Frieda color. The only difference is the eSalon color is much more complicated to use and the process is a much bigger mess. Plus, have mercy does it stink!!! Lastly, it's no more durable than the cheaper at-home colors. I start noticing grays reappearing in as little as two weeks. ConfusedSo I originally started with this company using the demi permanent color, loved it but, was experiencing mega hair fall out. So I waited two months and decided to use the permanent line, it didn’t do a good job at all covering my white hair, I waited a week to wash and the first wash the color came off my temples! Ugh! Even with specific instructions I was sent the wrong color again!Even though a long while back esalon sent me a color which was almost exactly the color I needed they continue to change the color without any requests from me. I finally canceled my subscription as I was tired of receiving the wrong color no matter how many times I contacted them. Fast forward about a year and they offered me a deeply discounted price to try them again so I thought if I add a note with EXACTLY the color mix that they once sent me that was perfect maybe I would get the right color this time. I just opened my color box and IT IS STILL WRONG. I don’t even know how this is possible and now I cannot color my hair and have to go through the whole hassle of calling them and getting a refund. AND quickly finding another solution to get my hair done. Poor gray coverageI enjoyed the personalized packaging but that was about it. My first color was too copper toned for me and the gray coverage was pretty poor. I provided that feedback and my color was adjusted. Just touched up my roots and I can still see my grays, even with the new formula. I’m about 25% gray so I wonder how this works on people who have more. Pretty disappointed. Turned off the plan and will go back to the salon. What is happening???First, the color bottle would not open (even when my husband used pliers on the cap) thus I had to cut it open spilling a lot of it down the sink. Next, the Developer was runny and not the rich conditioning feel of past Developers. I went ahead and applied to my hair, The color came out OK and will hopefully not fade quickly. What Happened?I guess I'm not alone when I write the color just doesn't seem to last as long as it did previously. I've read some other recent reviews indicating other customers noticed the color doesn't seem to be lasting or seem as rich and lustrous, and I agree. The last two times I've used my color kit, the color seemed to fade quite a bit and looked dull after just three weeks (previously it would last well for a full five!). I don't even wash my hair every day, so that shouldn't be a factor. I looked at my hair yesterday in the mirror, and the color seems to have faded significantly after just 2 1/2 weeks. Semi permanent colourI used the semipermanent colour for some greys but it lasted only for 3 weeks instead of usual 6 weeks. I did not find any difference with other brand hair colours. Red rootsI adjusted my color to a darker shade and told the team of my color concerns and its not right. I follow the process they have listed and always after using their color my roots are a red shade. Its not a bright red or anything but its not pulling a soft black like the color says. 1st couple of orders I was happy with reults. 6 months into subscription after I use esalon color I haft to purchase a separate color from a separate company to fix my roots to match my ends. Waste of money and my time!Well, I was really excited to try the eSalon color kit. Honestly, I was terribly disappointed! I have never had such dismal results from any hair color!! I have very short hair, almost shaved in the back. After a recent haircut the back was mostly grey, plus root growth all over. I have colored my own hair for many years, so am comfortable with the process. I followed the instructions to the letter, but it barely deposited any color on my hair. In fact, you can't even tell it was "supposedly" colored!! Color usually adds some body to my fine hair, but this added none - proof that no product was deposited on the hair. I will have to recolor it immediately with my usual brand now - not the healthiest thing for my hair. I tried spraying the roots and back with the Camo Mist, but that was not very effective, either. The roots didn't change much, and the back looked blotchy and irregular. I don't remember if you have a money back guarantee, but you should refund my money anyway. Seeing greys after 2 weeksHi, With this color order, the amount was not enough. I could not cover all my roots as I started seeing greys 2 weeks from my last color (november). Something is differentI use to loveeeee eSalon. I tried other brands and came back to color my hair with eSalon’s hair coloring. But something has changed in the last few months. I noticed after applying the color that my roots and gray hair where more of a redish brown rather than black like the rest of my hair. I thought I had made a mistake coloring my roots so I tried it again they next month and again the color was way off. Mind you I have been using eSalon continuously for over a year and hadn’t had a problem before. I had my color adjusted twice and saw minor improvements but it still not covering my grays and my roots are still lighter than my ends. I have an unopened box of the “lighter shade” that I don’t know what to do with it. I definitely won’t be coloring my hair with that. The money I’m spending in this trial and error process doesn’t justify the end result. NOOOO!Got first color, way too dark, complained, told you can't make it lighter, but next shipment would be better. 2nd color, adjusted again way too dark, and too red. Love the colorLove the color mix for my hair but seems recently product has changed because the last few color set have lasted just a couple of washes and it's not covering my grays. I have dry curly hair so I don't wash my hair often and when I do I use color shampoo and conditioner so it's a problem with your product, I'm reading other reviews and seeing the same complaint. Nice Kit Awful FormulaThe kit came with everything you need to successfully color your hair at home. The color was worse than a box from Walmart. It immediately started turning blue/black even though my color is medium brown. It was wayyy darker than I had wanted. The good news is that it washes out quickly, so after being too dark for a few days, it’s already fading back to a more desirable color. I am allergic to eSalon hair colorI really wanted to love this custom do it at home hair color. The shade (a light cool brown) that was made especially for me was perfect and I dislike taking the time and expense of going to a salon. However, a patch test showed no skin irritation, so I applied the color as directed. When I rinsed off the color, an excessive amount of hair was lost. After drying, my scalp itched for days. Also, the product didn’t cover my grays completely and made my hair texture feel brittle, I thought at first that this was a temporary adjustment to the new hair color, so when it was time to color, I used the color again with the same results. I called an eSalon color specialist and the next formula was changed, and did help with gray coverage, but I kept loosing hair! I then cancelled my order and received an emailed response from their color specialist that said it is normal to loose 200 hairs a day. Roots white and brownI colored my hair roots with half of each product, follow all the procedures washed it and my hair roots were still white and brown, I had to repeat the same procedure after 3 days. My hair color was still a little white but mostly light brown. My hair color is dark brown. DisappointedThe color is as expected, not as shiny as would have liked but biggest disappointment is that the grays were not covered as needed. As I dry my hair, using a circular brush I can still see the gray line when under the light and hair is wrapped about brush. I have to use the color spray to fully cover. IF it is that way right after doing my hair I am not going to be surprised that it will be even more obvious after a few shampoos. I left it on an extra 10 minutes being careful not to pull to the ends as they are too dark as is. I know how to color my hair, been doing it for a long time Just disappointed, can't seem to get anything that will cover gray completely. AwfulI joined this scheme towards the beginning of the pandemic attracted by the ease of being able to skip an order. As the company has become more greedy, they have made it nigh on impossible to Skip an Order. You just get an unwanted order our of the blue. I thought I had cancelled my account last time but the hair colour keeps coming....I now have 3 x unwanted boxes.
