second time having it come out and this was worseIt was too dark and too flat. It made me look washed out. Honestly, this is the second time the color has been shipped and I was my hair EVERY 3 days. Color was dull looking and washed out after a month... do the math, it should have lasted much longer than that especially when I was it every 3 days using a color safe shampoo and cond that is sulfate free. UnhappyUsed the soft black last night and followed instructions to the tee. I can still see a few grays and my previous hair color is still noticeable through out. Bottle for ColorWhile I love your product, I was surprised by the new packaging. I dig the new box for the gloves, but find it unnecessary. It seems that your packaging cost would increase. Also, the color bottle's opening is much wider than the developer's bottle opening. This made pouring the color into the developer more challenging with more likely of a chance to spill some thus messing with the developer to color ratio. I'm still going to be a loyal customer, but the wider mouth on the color bottle is off-putting. Not sure yet...Just notified today that my 2nd hair color shipment has been sent to the shipping carrier. Problem is that I used this product to color my hair for the very first time just 10 days ago - which means that "the jury is still out" as to how my color is holding up, whether or not I wish to make a color change, or if I even plan to continue using the product! I do not appreciate not being given an opportunity to make changes. Even now, when I try to make online changes re: the next delivery date, I am unable to do so. I feel like the color product is great and I love the auto-shipI do love the product and the savings in doing it myself!! However, I do feel like the color selection for me is darker than I would like. It is easy to apply, the instructions are a little confusing. So stickyI have dyed my hair for almost 15 years using box hair dye from the drug store and my hair has NEVER felt this way. My hair is really really sticky and stringy and so tangled i ripped out half my hair trying to brush it. Im am so unhappy with this product and am very disapointed with the results. Too darkThe color came out much darker than I was anticipating. I stated I wanted a light golden brown. Something that would blend well with my highlights. Custom Hair ColorI was not happy at all. Only after two washings my color turned very dull. Did not cover my grays very well. I bought the touch up spray for my gray roots. A total waste of money. I think I’ll stick with the salonIt was sub par hair coloring. I have blond hair it usually holds color well. I wouldn’t pay the full price for the color I received but at a discount it made it a little better. I think I’ll just pay the extra and get it done at the salon. Loved the coloringI bought this hair coloring in hopes to cover my grey hair. The coloring I had been using was from L'Oréal and within a month it was already fading. I have a difficult time trying to find anything to stay on the grey more than a month. This stayed on my hair about the same length of time. Faded out endsBy following the directions the overall color of my hair varied as you went from root to ends. Looked like a bad biolage color. Roots came out almost white, rest stayed normal color.I was hoping this was the answer to my hair problems. Terrible ProductThe color came out very different than it was supposed to be. It was a flat ugly color. It took me forever to wash out of my hair. It felt sticky and grosse for several days. It also didn't cover my grays at all. To make matters worse I just got charged again and received it again. I don't remember signing up for them to send it automatically every couple of months. Horrible ResultsI am very unhappy with the results of my most recent color. The root color has always been too dark, but every time I tried to get it lighter, it just turned orange. I was going to try to just stick with the dark root color and do highlights every time I did my roots, but that isn't going to work either. The highlights turned the dark hair orange. It looks awful and now I'm going to have to go to the salon to get it fixed. Wanted blonde got blahI started with light brown undyed hair and chose to go to medium beige blonde. I included a photo of my hair and wrote a note to the colorist. In the note I stated that even with ash colors, my hair will go golden thinking adjustments would be made. The finished product is a bland and boring dark golden blonde. Not the color I was going forI was super excited to try out this hair dye and my hair turned out way darker than what I was expecting and hoping for. I followed the instructions and was looking for a brighter copper color and ended up with dark brown with a red undertone. After explaining to the color expert that I did not get the color I was expecting, she told me my hair is now too dark to lighten (which is why I was upset in the first place). Not what I asked forI asked for a brighter red because I liked the color I got last time, but it faded quickly to a copper - which was pretty, but I wanted something more vibrant with the red. And I used this, and my hair is a dark brown. I am really unhappy seeing as this is the EXACT OPPOSITE of what I asked for. I would have been better off not putting in a request. My friend recommended this website to me and has beautiful hair so I'm not sure where I went wrong. Personal Stylist did not listen wellI originally worked with a stylist, and the first round of coloring was way too dark. There were two different colors, one for the roots and one for the ends, and they were different colors and did not blend at all. So I asked for more auburn red in the mix, so the color would be lighter, and the same color for both ends and roots. Instead, they sent me two different colors again, and the root color was still way too dark and I can't wait for it to wash out. The dark color is too stark against my skin tone, and I hate it. I feel that the stylist just did what they wanted and didn't really listen to me. Actually, if I had a box of the color I purchase over the counter, I would have used that instead, but since I already had this color from Esalon, I thought I would give it one more change. It is now Thursday afternoon and after washing my hair 5 times already, my entire head is coated in what appears to be some sort of greasy film that will not wash out. I am beyond frustrated and pissed off. I have literally scrubbed my head 5x. I guess I'll keep scrubbing and hope for the best. uneven resultsI was really excited when I received my color. The packaging and step by step instructions are great. You get two bottles of color: one for you roots and one for your ends. I asked for an eggplant color that was more on the purple side of the spectrum than red. Unfortunately my color came out a bit uneven. My roots came out lighter than my ends and are showing more red than purple. I'm actually ok with this color because it is giving me some multidimensional highlights. However, my ends look very flat and dark. I'm seeing very little purple. Nice Colour Awful FeelI was so excited to try this new way to dye my hair customised just for me. First issue was that it took a while to get to me, but still came earlier than expected. All in all the colour is great but thats about where it ends. Nice subtle smell, easy process, but afterwords my hair feels absolutely awful, during washing it out and after it had dried. I made sure to try my best and wash it all out but even after drying my hair is so greasy all over and made the back of my head full of tangles. Color not as expectedI chose the "medium pearl golden" which, on my computer screen, appeared to be a medium blonde with a cool, slightly pink tone to it. The result was more of a dark, coppery blonde, kind of an auburn. It's not bad but it's not what I was expecting. Packaging was personalized at perfect!After two weeks of using this product my scalp has not stopped itching. No signs of bumps, but whatever was in this was apparently too strong for my scalp. I will not be purchasing this again unfortunately. Worst hair color experienceThis hair color option seemed promising. I followed all the instructions (not hard to do since I have been dying my own hair for 20+ years). It just seemed that color was "sticky" and even after using their shampoo and conditioner included (as instructed) my hair felt very weird. The next couple of days it continued to feel strange. Then I finally used a very fine comb with my shampoo and it "scraped" off residue. Then my hair felt back to normal. The color was not at all what I expected. I wanted a dark black, they sent that with some red/purple in it (Which I expressed to "my colorist" my hair doesn't hold reds). Who knows why they sent that. And it hasn't even been a month and it needs to be redone. At least with my Garnier brand I can go 8+ weeks. Not impressed, will not try again. Inconsistent. Clown Red Roots!9/28. Update. Cancelling because they only sent me the right formula once of five orders and would not just send me the right one again despite phone calls and emails. The last one was just brown (no red) and left my hair sticky and coated after 3 washes! Switching to Madison Reed. Adjusted my color after I had clown red roots. Great! ...for one month. Then they sent me the shitty color again (after I confirmed they would send me the new formulation that actually worked.) They assured me it was the right one. Nope. My hair looks ridiculous. Wanted to Love ItUnfortunately this service did not work for me. I have resistant grays, which I specified when placing my order. I selected a color initially, and the colorist said that it would be too dark, so I agreed to something lighter. Because the color was so light, it did not cover my roots....at all....especially around the temple area. Additionally, after using the product, my scalp turned red and bumpy. It just so happened that I had a dermatology appointment 3 days later, and the doctor said it appeared that I had a reaction to the color - this has never happened before. Now I have a color kit at home that can't be used - I thought I had stopped my service but apparently I did not stop it in time. I love the idea of this service, but unfortunately it did not work for me. Oooooh, that smell! :-(The smell was strong from the start. But for Step #4, stepping into the shower to apply the leftover color and massage to a lather, the strong acrid smell was overwhelming! It was too harsh and unpleasant. Once I was able to rinse thoroughly, it was fine again. Yuh know what, I also realized that I DO NOT like coloring my own hair to this and other reasons. I understand that the color chart can be a little deceitful and each hair type is unique, but I specifically added a note in which I stated that I want a color as close to my natural as possible, that I really dislike rusty undertones and want light ash color with as little brown as possible. Disappointed - Not my requested colorBecause red is a hard color to maintain, my color faded into a reddish-blonde. This was expected. But I just redyed it and there's hardly any copper and my hair is brown. I understand that I was sent a root touch up, but because the red faded, my roots would in no way match the rest of my hair. Made my hair sticky and waxy!This is my fourth order. The first 2 came out great. The previous one came out with some stickyness but nothing I was too bothered by. This time my hair was so sticky and waxy that over 3 days I had to wash my hair 7 times to get it somewhat soft and manageable. I still think it needs another wash before I feel like my hair is back to normal. I don't know what changed but this formula is just not someting I am willing to try again. Poor directionsI finally had a chance to color my hair, it took a while because I hurt my right shoulder and can't lift my arm over my head. Anyway, this is the 3rd time using your product and I am just not impressed. I go step by step per the instructions and I am not liking the results. Not covering my gray, and I had over 1/2 the bottle left over and trust me I did exactly as the instructions said, though It did not mention anything about applying the color to the bulk of my hair, only the ends and roots and I used some in the shower as, again, instructed. Not very goodWas very disappointed in the product. Used it the first time by myself, followed directions & wasn't happy with the outcome. Lasted very short length of time. Thought it was something I did incorrectly so I took it to my hairdresser & had her apply it. Was just as disappointed then also. Color didn't even last 4 weeks--red was totally gone & the gray was back and very prominent. Wrong color!!I sent a picture of my dirty blonde hair with blonde highlights to the colorist. They send me light brown. I figured they knew what they were doing. They did not. I now have brown roots and blonde hair! Help! Love the color, BUT there is a BIG problemI have received 4 orders so far and I have the same problem with each. The color is gummy and will not wash out easily. I have to wash my hair 4 or 5 times to get it to feel clean! I have read other reviews that state the same problem, so it is not just me. Great color, horrible waxy residueI've used it twice now and the first time I thought I had a waxy residue left on my hair from the stain guard. I went ahead and tried it again with out the stain guard and still after washing my hair THREE times, am left with a thick waxy substance on my hair and scalp. I want to love this product because the color is spot on but I just can't. Color not even close!!!If I wanted dark auburn hair color I would love it. I wanted dark blonde/cool beige. I now have very dark auburn hair. I have been coloring my own hair for years with drugstore box color and always had great luck. I wanted to try something that was supposed to be better - it was worse. Worst hair product ever.Worst company ever with a product that doesn't cover/ fades after washing. The only reason why it gets a one star is that it would not write a review without at least one star. It doesn't even deserve that. Company keeps your credit card on file for anyone and everyone to access and steal! When requesting a cancellation, company still keeps everything active and open so anyone can access and steal your information PLUS they won't cancel your account.
