Our gel color is crafted from highly pigmented professional-grade dyes, which can feel heavy if not totally washed out per your Personalized Instructions and sometimes requires a little bit more shampooing than other color. To thoroughly remove the color in the future, we recommend that you bring any leftover hair color in your bottle or bowl, fill it with water and mix it together. Then, after tilting your head back, pour this mixture onto any areas you applied color and deeply massage it for 2-3 minutes prior to rinsing. This will seriously help to loosen any residual color and prevent staining on your scalp. If you still have this feeling, we then suggest using a color-care clarifying shampoo to remove any of the remaining residue from your hair, leaving it feeling fresh and squeaky clean. |
It was okI thought the color I picked would have more auburn tones and lighten my hair more. It wasn’t a huge change from my natural color other than coloring my grays, which it didn’t cover all. The color rinsed out over the next several washes even though I followed directions as stated. DisappointingAmazing customer service and the packaging the dye comes in is great and included lots of additional things for your $$ (gloves, shampoo, etc.), and I didn't find the dye to be at all damaging or hard on my hair, but the shipping takes like a month and my hair didn't even take to the dye, it didn't do anything - I've been using Demi permanent for years to dye my dark blonde hair to dark brown and this is the first time it actually did not even dye my roots (I even left it in a few min longer than they suggested). Not the colour I wantedI wanted a golden and was sent brown. To top it off nothing was explained and I've just been sent more colour. So unknown to me is signed up to be send colour every 8weeks. Terrible color, way too darkI've heard a lot of great things about esalon, so I decided to try it for myself. I loved the ordering process and how smoothly everything went, however I chose the color medium brown golden copper for my already medium brown hair, and my hair is now DARK brown and has nothing even close to a golden copper hue. It looks terrible. At this point, I don't even know what to do with my hair. Hated itI have been dying my hair with boxed die from walmart for years!! I thought i would give this a try and it may be a little better for my hair. I was wrong!! My hair felt like i couldnt get the die out, it was so gressy and unbrushable. I thought well maybe it was a bad box and ill try it again. I did it the night before a wedding i was going to, lets j say i couldnt brush my hair or stlye it for days later because it made my hair so greasy! I hated it!! ColorThe color covers the gray nicely. I wish that the color was thicker and not so runny. That would make self application easier and less messy. There needs to be more conditioner included with purchase. I condition my hair twice, once with your product and once with mine. Absolutely RidiculousI ordered my first trial of this company and was so excited to try it. My first try at dying my hair came out awful. This color was WAY darker than what I asked for and looked nothing like the preview on the website. I followed the directions exactly and this formula dyed all of my roots and only SPOTS on the rest of my hair! I contacted the company and asked to go much lighter for my next color which they say they can't do, they can only go a bit lighter. I said ok to that only to find out that they will only be shipping enough of the adjusted color to color only my roots! Its like they didn't even listen to the problem. So they adjusted my color but I guess they expect me to walk around with splotches of color on the rest of my head? What an ordeal. I cant even wear my hair down because it looks so bad. I really didn't want to write a bad review, I was hoping they would fix the problem the first time but it doesn't look like it. I've emailed the company YET AGAIN and am waiting for a response. I'll update my review after I hear back from them and let everyone know if they have fixed this problem. Overall I have to say I'm just really disappointed in this company. I really wanted it to work out. *** UPDATE *** I received a bottle to color my hair all one color. It was still way too dark but it did fade after a while and I will be trying a lighter color for my next coloring. Customer service was nice when they helped me I was just disapointed that I ended up having to have such dark hair. Not that greatI tried it after seeing the ad, the color I got was not right I figured I wasn't getting anymore so I thought, a few mths later i got another box I used it and cancelled the account ,then I get a notice there going to send it again I told them I didn't want it and had cancelled my account, I was just looking at ad's on my phone and eSalon. Was there so I checked to see if my account was still active and it said my next shipment is coming in January. How do I stop this? Good idea but....When I colored my hair I followed the directions to a T! However, my hair is now a weird brassy brownish orange color on the roots, and dark brown on the ends. It really doesn’t look great. Before my hair was one tone so there wasn’t much of a variety of color for the dye to latch onto into different ways. I gave it a few weeks to see if it would wash out and blend together and it hasn’t. Also, I ordered a medium brown and it was nothing like the picture on the model. Maybe you could use different models with a choice of skin tone so we can have a better idea of how the color would look on our skin tone? Not Hydrating EnoughThis formula was too drying for my hair. The color was nice, the kit was complete and everything arrived in a timely manner with clear directions and instructions. Unfortunately, in my case, it left my hair extremely dry, brittle and damaged/ prone to breakage. I inquired about more hydration but I didn't receive a response about it. Turned my hair BLACK, will not order again.I ordered the darkest brown and followed the instructions to a T, but it turned my hair BLACK. No pigment variation, just dull and flat black. No brown whatsoever. Trying to color correct black pigment damages the sh*t out of your hair B/c it has to be stripped. Now I have to go and get it fixed since I look like Wednesday Addams. my history wasn't consideredWith this color I changed from dark blonde with reds to light brown. Unfortunately this time I only got one bottle of color, which was barely enough to cover all my hair. Colour not at all what I was expectingFirstly, the box arrived and I was very impressed with the presentation and what was included. The process was strange, when washing it out, I was worried as my hair felt almost like rubber but this soon washed out with the shampoo and conditioner. After drying, my hair has been left feeling so soft, however, the colour i was expecting was a dark, mahogany, full of rich red tones, however the colour I have can only be compared to an Icy brown with virtually no red tones. Love the color, but....This is the second time I have tried this product. love the color, how long it lasts and how it covers my greys. However, I can’t get the product to rinse out of my hair even after several shampoos. It feels like a rubber texture on my hands and there is a leftover film on my hair. Too DarkI like your product it covers very well we just don't have the color right yet. Still too dark, a little too much mahogany. I am 70 years old and my roots are now white, so they show immediately, and it seems too dark for my age. Needs to be a little more auburn but not mahogany. Will keep trying, thanks. Too lightI received the soft blue black color and unfortunately it was lighter than I expected. My hair looks like a dark brown tone rather than soft blue black. The shampoo and conditioner were not to my liking either as they had very little lather and my hair did not feel clean. UndecidedThe color is very nice but there wasnt enough color. My hair is shoulder length and thick which i mentioned. I usually by 2 boxes . i do have grey in the front not alot but it didnt cover it very well. I was happy though that i didnt get the hot roots. I would try it again. Color is way too dark.Followed the instructions in the box and first the colors were off. My roots are pretty red and the ends where I applied the second bottle they told me tobuse for my ends turned really dark almost black. not the color I was expecting/shippingWhen I dyed my hair I was expecting a color close to what I ordered. I understand it usually comes out a little darker then I wanted. Well, mine turned out almost black and my tips have a blue hue to it which was not at all what I expected. Then my mom and I ordered ours on the same day and I received mine right away. Not greatThis was my first experience with esalon.com's products and it could have been better, coverage was worse than expected, color looks artificial, and it left my hair a little dry. It's okay..The eSalon appeal is that it takes all of your hair info and needs into account, then gives you specific choices based on that info that your hair can achieve through a personalized formula. So, I assumed that it would turn out differently/accurately based on the color I chose. The color was nice, but not what I was going for. It definitely seemed like just buying a typical box of store-bought color. To me, it just doesn't seem worth the extra trouble for something I probably could've picked up at Walmart. My hair still feels healthy, which is great. And the color does look good, although it's not what I was going for. Maybe it would work better for someone else depending on what they are trying to achieve with their hair. All in all, not bad. Not what I expectedI was so looking forward to using this product . . . . to say the least it was a disaster! The whole process was messy, time consuming, stunk, and the results were not at all what I was hoping they would be. My hair was intended to be a dark golden blonde. I now have the color of dirty river water. It made a total mess of my long hair to the point where I've had to literally soak my head in conditioners and masks to help overcome the dryness.
