no grey coverageAfter the first use and maybe 2 washes it was like I did not even color my hair. I wrote back and said I needed a higher grey coverage formula and you just extended the time by 10 minutes....No difference in the final result. not long grey coverage no enough conditionerI have a lot of hair and the packages are too small and for the money I pay the grey coverage should at least last for 8 weeks but it does not. I follow the instructions and I never have clear water after 15 minutes of shower. Not real happy with the length of grey coverage and the amount of conditioner I get. I love the color and that's it. They won't listen to my requestI have have finally given up on esalon. I have requested time and time again for ash hair color because I want NO GOLD OR RED in my hair. Even when they did add the ash, they also added gold. When I complained about the red and gold they told me to buy a product called tinted love soft red neutralizer that they sell to gloss over the red and gold...didn't work. Not very happy with the productThe color is a little darker than I expected, although it was nice. The dye itself leaves a film on my hair that does not wash out after using it. (Even after using the shampoo provided) the film it leaves on does not wash out until about three or four washes using my own shampoo. My hair felt dirty. Also, by that time the color fades. Nope.I’ve colored my hair for quite awhile so this isn’t like my first time doing this. My roots are almost black and there is a distinct line in my hair where you can see the 2 separate applications of (the roots and the ends) colors. Way too darkI feel that the process of 'selecting your desired shade' offers too few options for red-brown shades. I added images and a note mentioning that I keep my hair on the (much) redder end of that spectrum. Bottles leaked during shippingI received my package and the top was not properly tightened on one the bottles and the color leaked all over the box . Color no where closeI had chosen a copper dark blonde color. It looked much lighter than the color I got. I wouldn’t even call my hair a dark blob after using this custom color. It’s very slightly lighter with such a small touch of red that it’s hard to see. Not what I was going for at all. Paying for a professional in a hair salon is a better option. Request to change my choiceHello, I received the package in the mail and was preparing to try this for the first time. I was ready to go but upon mixing the colors the smell of (amonia? bleach?) was so strong that I decided not to do it. I recognize that this is probably my fault for choosing a color with some blond, but I would like to choose a different color of that is possible, one that does not contain bleach or amonia, even if it means a darker shade. Hate it!Omg! I’ve used this in the past and loved it. I recently went back and asked for the blonde I loved in the past and sent several photos. I just colored my hair and it’s BROWN! Dog ugly BROWN. I hate Brown in my hair. Oh great by next week all the gray will return to make me feel worse. Not HappyThis product does not live up to the hype. I purchased several weeks ago but just tried it today. I generally buy a good drugstore brand and although always happy with the results, esalon promises longer lasting results so thought I would try it. Application was fine although a bit runnier than I am used to. After first rinse out my hair felt like glue. It took 3 shampoos to remove the goop and shampoo provided with kit was only enough for 1 wash. And my hair just touches my shoulders. The conditioner seemed ok but my hair was much knottier than usual when combing through the wet hair. Drying was eternal and parts of my hair just would not dry at all. Took about an hour of natural hair drying to clear up wet patches. My hair looked bushier than usual with slight frizz. I am used to soft and silky after tinting. The stain remover provided was useless and did not remove an iota of the product on my neck. It remains to be seen how much longer the esalon brand lasts better than the drugstore versions. Shades of Orange Instead of GoldThe color I ordered was called "Warm brown". The instruction insert stated it was brown mixed with some gold tones. What I got was an auburn/orange. Roots are hot (brighter than the rest). I considered calling in sick to work this was so bad. I will say when I called the helpline they were great. They're rushing an ash brown to counteract the color. I really liked the packaging and the shine and feel of my hair. Custom colorI choose my color and was shown what it would look like and I loved it and was so excited to have it put on today by my niece who is a PROFESSIONAL STYLIST. Hair feels great but don't like the colourI followed the instructions to the letter but my roots ended up redder than the ends. The ends are just brown when it should have been copper red. MehWell, I was really enthousiastic after my first purchase. I thought the color was absolutely gorgeous. For this second order, regarding my roots, I'm afraid I was not as convinced. Of course I know it's normal to have a less vibrant color on the roots than on the length, and that it'd be ill-advised to re-do the length every time. However, I felt this time the overall impression was a bit dull. Plus it doesn't really match the previous color. Despite my complaintsDespite my complaints, the colorists just don’t want to make any changes to the color! The color is very drab and way too much ash looking. I took the color into my salon at home and found out the put blue in my color! I have never had blue in my coloring before, it has always been violet! This has been communicated but they still will not make the changes so addios esalon I will find a salon that will honor my wishes and does as I like and knows work for my hair! The last color I received is horrible.The color is way too dark and brassy. I have washed my hair several times and have tried to soften it. It is horrible. I need you to check the formula or go back to a previous color. Please send a replacement package NOW, do not send me one that is the same as the last. I have been so satisfied in the past, have recommended your company, but not now. Nothing SpecialFirst, I would like to state that I love that the dye came with guard and remover. I rated the product an extra star for that. Secondly, I have long, thick hair and received more than enough product which was great. However, The shampoo they provided seriously sucked. I washed my hair twice with it (using up the entire package) and it removed nothing from my hair. My hair still had as much dye in it as when I stepped into the shower. I began to freak out a little and think I wasn’t going to be able to get this gunk out of my hair. I then used my own shampoo which worked a million times better at removing the dye, although I still had to wash 5 more times. I ordered Soft Black with blue hues (my hair was dark brown). The stange thing is that my medium brown roots remained way lighter than the rest of my hair. My roots are now a dark brown whereas the rest of my hair is now black (no blue hue). Dried out hairI Absolutely loved the color. It was exactly what I wanted but after dying my hair with it my hair felt extremely dry and unmanageable. It is so dried up that i could not even comb it out. My hair was not like that until i dyed it. Very disappointing. Great idea, not quite rightI love the concept. The marketing and packaging is all top notch. Unfortunately, the main product didn't work for me. I followed the directions exactly, and my roots were barely colored. Shiny Hair, But Wrong Color!I ordered a Medium Ash Blonde (I have naturally dark blonde hair), followed the application directions to a T, and ended up with a reddish/brassy blonde. My hair was shiny and felt healthy afterwards, so that was nice, but I'll definitely be heading to an actual salon to get this fixed. Not great coverageThis is the second time I have used this color combination and for some reason it did not cover my gray very well at all. I think maybe the time to leave in was reduced because it was my second application. I only used it to cover my roots and it didn’t work so I am not sure if I will order again. It also made my hair feel very brittle and full of build up for weeks. I did not have that experience the first use. Not satisfiedAlthough the color came out darker than what I expected, I did not mind it overall. However, my issue was mainly the aftermath. Once the dye was set in and ready to rinse off, I washed my hair until the water ran clear then I let it air dry. When my hair was for the most part, dry, there were parts that felt like they still had shampoo? so I rinsed out again, clear water and no shampoo was coming out nor in my hair, I towel dried and then and I did sleep with my damp hair this time. In the morning, my hair looked like I had put oil in it? it had a wet and sleek look and felt greasy. I wore my hair in a bun for the day as it was too late to do anything and went to work. I washed my hair the following morning and the "greasiness" seems to be washing off, not as prominent but still somewhat present. ( I do not tend to wash my hair daily, but will have to in order to get this residue out.) I have never had this experience before with hair dyes. Will not be purchasing this product moving forward. new presentation of products is NOT GOOD ! Didn't cover rootsI've been dying my light brown hair red in the salon for years, but thought I'd give it a try myself. I'm very happy with the overall color -- my ends had been fading and the new color is great, but the dye didn't really cover my roots, despite the fact that I left it on for 15 minutes before proceeding to the ends. HorribleI tried it twice and both times came out WAY too dark, even though second time was supposedly formulated to be lighter. The customer service is horrible! It took me weeks to get my color changed. They are very slow to respond sometimes. First impressionsI am waiting for the timer to beep to rinse out my first attempt at coloring with eSalon. I figured I’d give my first impressions while I wait. The instructions were easy to follow. Having the bowl and brush made it so much apply than using the store brought brands. One of the gloves I got had a hole in it but not a big deal. My biggest complaint is I didn’t have enough product. I ran out 80% of the way through (this is going to look ... interesting). I tried squeezing every drop out of the bottle and any extra from other areas of my head to spread it around. I have long hair, so getting the same size bottle for roots and ends doesn’t make a lot of sense. Oh, there goes the timer. Wish me luck! It’s done. Here are my final impressions. The color seems even throughout even with a shortage of product. It’s a nice, rich tone and I like the color. My hair does seem a little dry, which I haven’t noticed with other products. Root coverageUnfortunately this colour does not cover my roots adequately. They appear too light against the rest of the hair. The color was not what I expected.I received the first purchase and did the hair the color was slightly darker than what I wanted but lightened up after several washes. Not the color I wanted, but delighted by the serviceMy hair is not the shade I wanted, but the dye job doesn't look unintentional. It looks good, it just isn't what I wanted. That's worth taking off one star, but I wouldn't give it under 3 stars if you paid me. Scented skin protectant and TWO (2) PAIRS OF GLOVES, alone with a stain remover wipe (which I always forget to buy). And although I had doubts about the shampoo/conditioner because of how thin the formula is, I got compliments about how soft my hair was from my boyfriend that night! Sticky ickyOnce again, my hair coloring process turned my hair into a goopy, tarry mess. I followed all the directions including massaging my hair for 5 minutes in the shower (the directions recommended 1-2) to loosen the color and 4 shampoos and 20 minutes later I finally freed my hair of a goopy, greasy residue that the color left behind. I am convinced that it is the multiple shampoos that has left me with grays showing at only 3 weeks out from coloring and super dry hair. This is probably my 4th or 5th order. The last order was the first time it got goopy. When I contacted my colorist she said I needed to make sure and massage my scalp before shampooing. It took WAY more than a massage to fully clean my hair. I seriously considered using dish soap but was worried it would be too much for my hair after the coloring and multiple shampoos. The box is great, the color is notI liked how everything was in the box. It felt very, very personalized. Everything you needed was in there! It was a bit messy but that’s kind of expected. My problem is the color. It didn’t turn out anywhere near what I thought it would. So I’m disappointed in that. Would I try it again? maybe, but probably not, sadly. I really wanted this to be the new way of doing my hair. Color was much to lightWhen I wrote my instructions for my color I said I need a light to medium brown but I was sent a dark blond. The color was way to light and looked odd because you could tell the difference and my roots were much lighter so I may as well have not bothered to color my hair. I believe you only looked at the picture which showed highlights in my hair and based the color on the highlights. Hopefully my next shipment will be better Update. Not what I was going forThis color was not what I was going for. I received the first package which had the roots and the gloss and they were two different colors, which I thought was weird but I went along with it and followed the instructions. The colors ended up blending with Step 3, but it was not the color I was going for at all. It was way too light and too brown. It is more like having brown hair that looks red in a certain light. My real frustration was when I was communicating with the colorist. I told her several times that I wanted it to be as red as possible, but I still received a dye that had a lot of brown in it and she never made any adjustments to my formula, even after expressing my concerns. The box was shipped while I was still emailing with her about adjusting my color. Too red. Extremely disappointed.Wanted ash brown which is the closest to my natural color but in result got this red shade. I did ask color specialist to make sure that the color selection won't cause red shade afterwards. Extremly disappointed with the color.
