Rocky experienceUpdate: Third try. This color is better than Walmarts colors but it STILL turned out pinkish. I didn't even do it this time, my husband did. I originally wrote what is below. I have gave this a second chance (my hair used to grow slowly but due to supplements is is growing much faster). This second time my hair turned out just plain wrong, at the roots. It was embarrassing and I probably won't be giving it a second chance since I feel like the color care team acted like I was stupid and told me (basically) I must have swapped the bottles. I wasn't asking for anything except that the color be formulated different. I have been let down and I am very saddened since my first experience was just amazing. I have went to several different hair salon over the years, trying to get the perfect color. I have even bought at home hair color and tried it myself. Even when I went to salons the hair stylist always ended up turning my hair pink or a different color than I had originally planned on getting by talking me into something else. I have naturally strawberry blondish hair and I just simply want it a little bit redder. I honestly didn't have high hopes for this and I was beyond impressed!! My hair came out EXACTLY as I wanted it! The esalon team matched a color perfectly just from my notes and photos. The product is nice BUT adjusting it just wasnt right for meThe product is a good quality although a bit pricey. Coming autoship was very handy. But getting adjustments done was poor. Seems once you put color on your hair, that is it. You cant adjust it lighter, only darker according to what I was told. I know my salon has lightened my hair so it cant be impossible but they cant do it here (?). I stopped shipments and am going back to my salon. Past colorI have been happy with my present color but I am getting more gray or I should say white. I would like to lighten the color a little more so that when my hair grows out the gray blends in better. Actually my natural color is white not gray. I get lazy about keeping it colored all the time so there are times when it will grow out about about 2 - 2 1/2 inches. When I use the eSalon the color stays in longer. ???I don't get it???2nd bad go at this hair coloring business.Hi Everybody! Well I did the color formulation Esalon sent me and i did it correctly. The 1st bottle (root application) The second bottle (ends gloss application) The 3rd ( all over with the leftover color in the shower for several minutes) It still did not do anything at all! If anything, the top of of my hair...the roots came out a teeny, tiny, weeny bit 🍓. But you can barely, if any at all, see this. Actually, i still look pretty light blonde. No change WHATSOEVER! The rest of my hair ( the ends application esalon suggested I do?) Nope. Nothing. It didn't come out 🍓 at all!. There is no change at all! If anything, I'm going to call it a day and give up on trying to get that perfect color, because it just isn't working out for me. Thanks for trying super hard, Esalon, as you have on getting it just right. I know that you really, really did. I just believe i would have to be there for you guys to know exactly what color and how to do it by looking right at my hair. It just isn't working out and a lot of it has to do with the damage i already had done to my hair prior. Thanks for trying though. The color was actually looking quite dark while on my hair after after applying it not even 5 minutes into the wait. (I was even worried it would come out too dark) Dark! However, it washed right out after rinsing. Miss Stephanos A. ,(My Colorist), hit it "Dead On" when it came to the shade I had desired! I'll give her that!!! Kudos! I had chosen a Dark Blonde Neutral as my color, but i felt that it was just a tad too dark, with the medium blonde being a little too light. But it came out ashy with a really green tinge! Ugh! Mousey hair!Unfortunately, I didn’t get what I first ordered, which was a light ash blonde. Instead I got sent a medium ash, it now looks like my original mousy colour that I’ve been dyeing for years to get rid of it! I did get an apology and a refund, which is good of them! Wax!I started noticing that after washing off the color the product leaves behind a super sticky substance which doesn’t wash away with 2 shampoos . It wasn’t like that before. The old formula was super and was leaving hair soft. This formula sucks and your suggestion to wash with soda and shampoo is ridiculous. I have also noticed that the hair doesn’t look as healthy anymore after this product. Super mad that I was wasting my money on something that did nothing but damage. Nice product but hard to wash outLove the packing and contents. Directions are clear, you’re given two sets of gloves (game changer), shampoo, conditioner, dye preventer for your skin and a remover for mistakes on the skin. The price is good and it produces a nice color. However, the color is almost impossible to wash out. It even turns slick and almost stuck to your hair in the shower. I have to use the entire shampoo and then my own shampoo. Seems like it’s not worth the dye job I just did having to wash my hair four times afterwards. It’s not love.I really want to love this product. The packaging is amazing. I’m a sucker for detail and there was no detail lost here. The personalization had me so excited! My final product wasn’t any better (or worse) than drugstore color, but more expensive ...even with the ends bottle thrown in. Less expensive than salon, yes... but my color really is just “meh”. My hair color came out brownish red.My natural color is brown with blonde highlights. My first color application came out brown with coppery red roots. It was a complete and obvious color difference. Would not recommendIf I could give them a zero I would. I got a color not even remotely close to what I asked for. So, instead of saving money because I can't afford to have my dream red hair I took a chance on this brand. The reviews were great so I thought nothing could go wrong. I had blonde hair wanting to go copper red and I got a medium toned BROWN. THE EXACT COLOR I DID NOT WANT. My hair looks like poop and completely unnatural on me. Little change on black hairHi I received my coloring kit yesterday. I applied black color on the regrowth 15 minutes then the other gold effect color on my lengths 10 minutes. Extraordinarily displeased with the colorsMy hair is usually colored to an Auburn that is red in the sun and light reddish brown in any other light. The root dye I was sent is about 70% medium brown and 30% red/mahogany. The ends color was 100%mixed mahogany/red. My natural color is a dark Ash blonde/super light Ash brown. As a result my hair looks like I have several inches of root showing and red ends. And not the ombre kind. I will be going to get my old color tomorrow and redying in a few days. My roots were the part needing red and the ends needed evening to the reddish brown. I even considered doing the logical way but hoped the stylists knew what they were doing. Extremely dissatisfied. I still have grays!!Went in yesterday to the Hollywood eSalon. Angelynn was friendly and applied Light Brown custom color to my roots + emulsion to the rest. The setting time was 30 minutes. After I was washed and blow dried I noticed one hair that seemed like it was still gray. Since Angelynn had to leave before my appointment was complete, the other girl working there finished me up and said that maybe the setting time should have been longer. Okay its only one gray hair...I figured I could live with it....until...I got out into the sunlight!! There they were shining bright and gray in the sunlight...a whole group of gray strands around the front part of my hair!!! I truly was disappointed to see so many grays were still there. My parking validation was up so I didn't have time to go back in and show the colorist. I would upload a pic of all the grays that are still in my hair if I could. Least to say, I am not 100% satisfied. Hope eSalon reads this review and tries to correct this experience because I really did want this to work out. Wrong Color; Didn't make a differenceI followed the instructions almost exactly as described but left it in like 5 minutes longer because it didn't do much for my strand test. Luckily I don't hate the result (which is just slight purply undertones, and my tiny bits of ombre left over are the same shade as the rest of my head). Worst customer serviceI have tried to adjust my color two times and both times I’ve had the worst luck of speaking to reps that are very unfriendly and I end up canceling the service. I have a friend that tried ordering for the first time and the representative was very unfriendly. He wouldn’t listen to what she wanted just like the reps that I’ve had the unpleasant experience of talking to. Medium ash brownThe products were easy to use and the application was fine, since this was my first time using eSalon I was expecting to get a medium ash brown color. I got a deep chocolate like color, not much ash and my roots pulled red big time so I'm not pleased with that. A pro about the kit would be the color covered all of my blonde really well! straw for hairMy hair goes down to my waist. After using esalon my hair was like straw. I waited for 3 days to wash my hair and when I did, the color started to come out. Most of the color was out of my hair by the 3rd week. Store bought color lasted longer and made my hair softer than before I used it. This color is not good for my hair at all. I do not want anymore. Downgrading review to 2 starsMy color is too dark and eSalon is changing it for the next shipment. They say that what they provided shouldn’t have made my ends darker. Well they are and now I guess other than getting clatifying shampoo there is nothing I can do about it. I guess I can go get highlights but the whole point of this was to move away from expensive salon visits. Hair colorThis is my third time using my custom color, for some reason it was a little darker than before. I thought I'd be really happy with your product but unexpectedly disappointed!Hi, I've not been at all happy with the colour, it's kind of brown not red, flat, not tonal, it does not cover the grey very well, the dye is extremely chemically, the chemical fumes about take your eyes out and I couldn't breath, never experienced that with any other dyes and it was quite frightening. Thought maybe it was me not shaking it long enough the first time, but the same second try and I shook it plenty. And I don't like the plastic moulded packaging you use inside the box to encapsulate the bottles, this should have cardboard and the totally unnecessary square plastic slip you put the instructions inside. They don't need to be inside anything, they are of good enough quality paper and you certainly should not be using additional plastic! What are you thinking! It's costing you more and so bad for the environment. You have a moral responsibility as a business to safeguard the environment! I hope you remove these two items from your packaging. I think I'd like to cancel my order, I get better results with a £5 Nice and Easy 8WR Golden Auburn. Please can you ring and advise how I do that. Gentle on scalp but no gray coverageI liked the personalization, the instructions and everything that came with the kit was excelent. The color was what I wanted at least in the bottle. The first issue that I had was the strong smell of the ammonia or whatever chemicals the formula had, it was very difficult to breath and to keep my eyes open during application however, it ended up being not as damaging for my sensitive scalp which was a good thing and very important for me. The second issue is that it did not work at all to cover the few gray hairs I have. Too hard to rinse outI have had three sets of dye from eSalon now, and they have all been disappointing. I wanted a dark brown with purple. No matter how much they increased the amount of purple, it wasn't noticeable in my hair, so I just had very dark brown hair. I bought the brush and clips, and followed the instructions to the letter. When I came to rinse the dye out, a solid gel-like patch formed over my scalo and would not budge. I ended up shampooing several times before my hot water ran out and I had to give up. The colour did not last on my hair. I got perhaps 6 washes out of it before all the dark colour had washed out and my hair was back to my normal medium brown again. Despite Specific Information on my hair color turned out redI made a point of being very clear that my hair pulled red at the slightest bit of warmth added to hair color. Despite this information and asking for an Ash my hair turned orange/red after coloring. I plan to ask for a full refund. I will have to spend double what I would have at my salon to have a corrective color done to fix this mistake. The whole point was to avoid spending tons of cash at the salon. Has the formula changed?I just colored my roots last night and after 2 thorough shampoos, my hair is a greasy mess. I followed all instructions and rubbed the color so that it would rinse out easier. The formula, after being mixed, seemed oilier than the past formulations. I like how the color turned out but am wondering if the formulation changed somehow? My hair is very curly and normally dry, but it looks like I poured olive oil all over my head. DissappiontedI was so excited to receive this box in the mail, and when it arrived I was elated to start! Unfortunately I had to wait a few days before I could dye it. I finally got to it last night and I followed all of the instructions to a T. I was so excited to see the final color of my hair finally back to brown, but dark brown this time. I eagerly got through the dying process and rinsed everything out exactly the way the instructions said to do it. I started to blow dry my hair..... It's purple. Literally purple. The packaging and product seems to be cheaply made nowThe packaging and product seems to be cheaply made now. I've been using you guys for awhile now, and noticed that my last order in May was different. The packaging is different and looks cheap. In the color comes a stain shield vaseline. This was different this time and didn't work, I had color stained on my face and forehead and have never experienced that with you guys before. Also, I felt like the color came out different even though I have been using the same color many times in a row on my roots only. The amount of product you get also decreased, especially with the shampoo and conditioner. If you were trying to save money, it shows, and not in a good way. Overall, I delayed reordering because of how the experience changed. DisappointingMy hair stylist was out of town and I saw all these positive reviews about ESalon...so decided to give it a try. New Packaging FailI have been using the salon color system for years now, great color and easy to use, This is the first time that I’ve had an issue. The bottle nozzle was tiny so you had squeeze harder than normal and it sprayed weird. So I went with the brush method and dumped from bottle to bowl. Not for me!My first colour as chosen by the style team turned my blonde hair orange instead of dark blonde. The second sent to fix it, turned my hair a darker but more intense orange. No gray coverage and no options to improve gray coverageI was really happy with my previous orders and gray coverage until the last order that didn't do a good job. My grays were died but they started coming out faster than my hair would grow (every time I took a shower the dye came off per say). I called to ask if there was gray coverage in my formula or if they could improve it and the only option I received was to make my formula darker. I do not want my hair to be any darker as the current formula is already darker than my natural hair color. So disappointed that I actually have no options to fix this and keep my natural hair color. I guess I have to go back to the salon since this company is no longer competent in my case. I say this because to my surprise the color expert I spoke to suggested to go to a salon to get better results. Can you believe this? Don't know how to respond to the message below. I did TRY to work with one your Color Experts and the concern above was not resolved. I got the answer I explained above. Med Gold BlondeI like a lighter blonde shade in the summer & dark blonde in the winter. The 1st time I ordered, I could only get a dark blonde color. I called, sent a picture & was told to send it back & was sent a lighter color. My hair is super thick & shoulder length so it takes 2 boxes to color. The lighter color was great. My only complaint is it didn't color my grey hair. I worked it in on my grey hair & roots 1st & really took extra time on the grey hairs. My 1st review through email about the coloring not covering my grey hair & was told I probably didn't pay enough attention to that area. As I started writing this review, I see the 100% guarantee & it being on Esalon, I was not once offered my money back or more color. disappointing hair color and kit conditioner ; Great Get Lifted Root Hair SprayHair directions great and followed them exactly. Hair color turned blonde highlights and all hair red and did not cover roots. Conditioner did not moisturize hair. Very disappointed. Good customer for this company. Thank you. Hair came out too darkI think I must be doing something wrong. The first couple times I used this product my hair was a beautiful color red. The last two times I tried it my hair comes out dark brown. If you changed your colors can you please look at my first 2 orders as that is the hair color I like. Turned my hair orangeThe highlights recommended for my hair and color turned out awful. I watched the how to video, did a test strip, and followed directions to a tee. What a disasterI wanted to go from medium/dark brown with grey at the roots and mid-lengths, with lighter previously coloured ends to a bright copper all over. I did hairdressing in my youth, so I know that previously coloured hair absorbs colour/brightens easier than natural roots. They custom made me two colours, one for roots and mid-lengths, one for previously coloured ends. The bottle for the roots and mid-lengths was a brown base with copper and gold top notes and the bottle for the ends was copper based with gold top notes. Also I have thick, waist length, wavy hair and only received 1 tiny sachet of conditioner. I really needed about 5 or 6. So I ended up using a lot of my own deep conditioning treatment to complete. Whatever my previous experience, I decided that I should follow the instructions given as maybe the "experts" knew something that I didn't about their own colours. I followed the instructions completely and even had an "assistant" to help me with the back and tricky bits. I have ended up with brown (yeurch) roots and mid-lengths, but beautiful dark red/coppery (brilliant) ends. I adore the colour at the ends. But I didn't want brown hair with lighter brighter ends. I had that before with different colours already. I sent an email via the contact form over 24 hours ago. I haven't had a reply yet, although I did get the standard "we have received". I give one star for the presentation and ends, but sadly I can't give any for anything else. As you can imagine I am a very unhappy customer. I thought I would have received a priority response under these circumstances, but sadly I'm still waiting. Needless to say I have cancelled any repeat orders until I receive a satisfactory response and a way to sort it out. I know I can't put a new colour on immediately, but after a few washes I should be able to. I just hope they can give me a good result, so far I'm not convinced... Results were too brassy for ash blondeI wanted a color that wouldn't be brassy, and would blend my ash brown with the silver. The color of my hair now is exactly the same as the clear color in the bottle before I mixed it with the developer, the color of honey. I like my silver and didn't want it to change, but it is strawberry blond now. Hopefully, the colorist will get it right the next time. Warm hair color is not for me. Product leakedThe set came soon after I ordered, but I was hugely dissapointed because as soon as I opened the set I saw and felt some sort of solution and sticky substance, it was the Developer bottle that was leaking. The chemicals are too much for me.The chemicals seems to be more than store bought brands. The steps that was recommended at the end is way too much for me to handle. I inhaled a lot of harmful chemicals. I thought I'd die. I have to cut the waiting time too as I started to feel pain in my hairline. Way too much hair loss.
