Not DIY at allI had to canceled my subscription after the first try because it was so difficult to do it myself and it damaged my hair. I followed the video instructions and it still turned out horrible. A lot of my hair fell off that I had to rinse it after five minutes. Don't know if the chemicals were to strong or I took to long doing the roots. I always use ammonia free products to do my hair since my hair is too delicate. If you have the soft, thin, and shiny baby hair definitely recommend you don't try this. Not satisfiedUnfortunately I am not satisfied with the “permanent” color I was sent. It was nice to receive an extra set of coloring which was used on the ombré of my hair but it did not take at all. The color washes out of my hair within a week. I am not sure if this line is a “Demi” or “permanent” color line. did not blend nor get the correct hair colorThis product only caused my hair to go a darker brown instead of the auburn it was supposed to. Ok color but very labor intensiveI color my hair generally every 3 to 4 weeks at home so I know what that entails..I thought ok maybe this will be better not that what I was doing was bad..but oh my word at the extra work and laughable amount of product yes the color amount was fine but if you take the time to ask if I have long hair make sure you send enough shampoo and conditioner to get the product out..did not even have enough shampoo to get a good suds. Light Golden Brown1:) I forgot to put on gloves. 2:) Due to Essential Tremor, the brush and tray were a disaster, color all over me and the shower room. Fortunately, it’s all subway tile and cleans easy. 3:) I didn’t clean up as easily. Lots of scrubbing. 4:) The color is still too dark. DecentI ordered the custom colour dark brown with mahogony and copper tones. The packaging and instructions were great, but the application process was not great due to the very strong, unpleasant scent of the dye. However I could get beyond this for a good result, but after a reveal the colour was not what I expected. It is still nice, but did not fully take to my hair so it lacks the vibrance that was advertised in the photo. Faded right awayI realize it may take a while to build depth in the red color, but it seemed to fade out or I couldn't see much difference from blonde to strawberry after the first wash. Granted, the color kit came with 2 sets of supplies, 1 for roots, 1 for all over, and the results were great as far as the roots not showing and the overall color being consistent; however the "red" was not enough. really disappointing,I am totally disappointed with this product. My gray turned just a light brown color, did not cover the grayest hair at all. I really, really wanted to like this!!I am a first time user and I was not impressed. I usually just do drug store box dye and seen this product on social media and decided to try it out and was so excited to use it, especially since it talked about holding its color. First complaint: very strong odor! It was burning my eyes it was so strong. Second complaint: very heavy residue left over on my scalp, it took days to get it off. It was coming off on my fingers when I would touch my scalp. Third and worst complaint: the gloves gave me a horrific rash all over the tops of my hands and has now started to spread to my wrists. It started the day after I dyed my hair and now two weeks later, the rash is still there and getting worse. I have never had a reaction to any types of gloves before. I am not sure if these gloves were old or had something in them. I ended up using both pairs of gloves because I had to take the first pair off when I accidentally got hair dye in my eye (that burned like heck). All I know is it is very irritating and I can't seem to get rid of it. Love the Packaging/Process, Color Faded Way Too Fast/Wasn't What I ExpectedI got the violet dark brown (aka intense pearl) and honestly it was very light compared to the picture and what I expected. It also started fading to a redish color very quickly. don't waste your moneyIt's just like any other box color so don't waste the extra money. Also a week later my scalp started itching and peeling. That's never happened with other box dyes before. I am not happy with this purchase, the color is flat (though it is a nice color) and not what I was wanting. There zero purple tint to it. Disappointed overall.Seemed good quality products - which did not irritate my scalp. Unfortunately, the root & ends colour were too different. No 1 bottle:- too bland/flat & paler & did not fully cover my roots (Although that could possibly have been the friend not applying it correctly). No 2 bottle:- too much Mahogany colour coming through. Requesting resolution advice from eSalon. Horrible colorI’m really upset that I tried this product and now I’m left trying to figure out how to fix my hair. The color was listed as medium blonde with a neutralizer yet it turned out a brassy orangey strawberry blonde that just does not work at all with my skin tone. It was also really hard to wash out and my hair felt super greasy and stringy the next day, and now 2 days later it is crazy dry. The color was great for only 3 days.I colored my hair Sunday March 10. The color was great for Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday but on Wednesday I shampooed it with a sulfate and phosphate free shampoo and the color is almost back to previous color on the ends. Intense irritation to scalp and dull colorI was so hoping for good results from eSalon. Unfortunately, I am regretting even purchasing it. I have had my hair salon treated for over 20 year and in just. the past year have attempted to color my hair on my own with drugstore products. I have had some success with the drugstore dyes but when I found eSalon on Facebook, I was intrigued by a more personal experience and thought to give it a try. I completed my profile and awaited my package. Shipping was quick and I applied the product as directed about 1 week ago. I did a test on a portion of my hair to ensure no allergy, but didn't think that would be an issue anyway because, as I said, I have been dying my hair for several years. Immediately upon rinsing, I noticed a lot of fall out. I do experience a slightly increased amount of fall out when coloring my hair, but this was enough to alarm me. In addition, shortly after my hair dried (I did not want to use a hair dryer to give my scalp time to calm down), I began experiencing itchiness and irritation all over my scalp. So much so that it was quite distracting to me. This has not stopped in the week since I have dyed my hair and I'm growing quite concerned. In addition the color that I chose, a dark brown with neutralizer for my gray hairs, made my hair dull and monotone. Even a drugstore box of dye was more vibrant and shiny than what I just used from eSalon. I attempted to cancel online about 3 days after I colored my hair and was offered a free box to try it again. I decided to take them up on the offer, not thinking that the irritation to my scalp would continue four days on. THOROUGHLY DISSATISFIEDOn my third purchase of a custom color set, I wanted to change from dark amber to more of the popular mulled wine color. What I have now is a washed out ugly brunette color. The shampoo after thorough rinsing did not lather at all and after the conditioner my hair was left a mushy oily mess. The morning after coloring my hair I had to wash my hair twice to try to get it back to somewhat normal texture. I have photos, before and after. I wish I could post them here. Great kit but not the color I hoped forThe kit came with everything I needed and the instructions are clear and easy to follow. The products smell great and were nicely packaged. The two issues are the color came out darker than hoped for, and my hair feels very dry even though I didn’t lighten it at all. After many uses of this product, my first issueI've used esalon color for several years now, and I've been happy, until this time. Seems like 2 things changed, for the worse- small things, but they made a difference: 1) applicator bottle was too stiff to squeeze with one hand. I don't have enough hands to be using two to apply the product! 2) color & developer took forever to mix, and I had to keep re-shaking the bottle during application. It didn't cover my roots as well as usual either, I think because it wasn't properly mixed. If the color was not thoroughly mixed prior to application, it would not be able to give the same coverage it typically would. We recommend mixing and applying color with a bowl and brush. Mixing in a bowl allows you to ensure that all of the product is thoroughly mixed before applying, and applying with a tint brush helps with saturation and precision, which are both very important for the coverage you receive and to prevent banding (bands are created where color is overlapped). No response to my concern about colourI sent in a message weeks ago asking if I could get a darker colour with more ash tones, which is what I originally asked for (but the stylist recommended against it). Had hope.In the beginning the color seemed to cover the silver patch I was trying to cover. It seemed covered, anyway. Turned my hair redWhen I first began using eSalon color I was ecstatic! Finally I'd found "my color". However over the past few months and a couple of applications, my color has really begun to bring out all of the red in my hair. I ordered highlights with this last order and haven't used them because I really don't know what the addition of highlights will do to this color problem. I just want a warm brown without the red. Great colour, messy to use, waxy finishI absolutely love the colour but it was quite messy to use and I've washed my hair twice (three if you include the first time after dying) and it's waxy at the roots and flat. NopeIt took out some of the red that the 1st dye I purchased from here caused but now it's quite a few shades LIGHTER than I selected. Your conditioner is horrible. My hair was dry and frizzy after the 1st color and worse now(even though I left it on for 10 whole mins). I would rather pay a stylist x5 than this and be happy. i am unable to contact this company to cancel this product or stop paymentsI had a very serious allergic reaction to this product which landed me in hospital and large areas of my hair have fallen out. The staff said the nasty greasy residue was the worst they had ever seen and had to cut my hair to get most of it off. I am unable to contact this company to stop my payments because they have NO contact details of any kind of their site so unless they want to hear from solicitors I suggest they get in touch by email asap. Not badColor was pretty but my hair looks greasy and it was not as soft after the treatment. I noticed that it did not color all my grey. And is fading a little faster than the Sally’s I was using. Will not be using again because now this correction is going to cost a good 10 times as much as I paid for this product. Bought this as a one off trialE-Salon been sending me repeat prescriptions of hair colour 4 weekly I have never requested this only wanted to trial! At no point agreed to 4 weekly deliveries. Burned my skinThis product had too many steps and while the color turned out ok, it literally burned my skin as it washed out in the shower and dripped down my back. I decided never to purchase again and then just got charged today. Now I have to call in to cancel. What a Mess!My hair ended up two-toned with bozo red at the roots and an ugly dingy reddish brown at the ends. The product was so harsh on my hair it turned it into a glob of mush when I rinsed it. My package did not include shampoo and the conditioner did not want to rinse out. I would never try this stuff again! Better off with box brands from Walmart. flat and orangeyJust received and applied my newly adjusted color that was to remove the copper tones in my previous color. The instructions had me only doing my roots. Now the ends of my hair are the dark golden blonde I want and the roots are a flat orangey brown. I may need to go to a professional salon to have it fixed. Not happy. Left a message with my issues but not sure if anyone reads the request until my next color is due. Can't keep it until then. Frustrating. Update: I received an email from the company stating that they were refunding my money but had no solution for fixing my hair. Very upsetting! They actually just said they were ending my automatic shipments of hair color and tough luck. Despite their response below, they did not work with me to find a resolution and have my hair looking its very best. Could not be more disappointed with their customer service at this point. 2nd Update: They basically told me I am lying about the way my hair turned out. Please run to Madison Reed. Love the color, hate the company!I set up a couple of items to automatically re-order every 3rd order. Both items have been showing up on EVERY order. Luckily, I have been catching it before the order goes out, but very disappointed in a company who promises something every 3rd order and then adds it EVERY order. Cant find a "contact us" to even talk to someone about it, so I guess I will put it here. Feeling ripped off. Maybe time to look at another company. HORRIBLE!!!!!!This was the messiest, most horrible coloring experience I’ve ever had!! Not only could I not breathe in the shower when I dumped the rest of the color on my hair as directed, but I had a cough because of it for hours afterward!! Not only that, but the color was so runny, it ran down my scalp and went everywhere! The stain protector did NOT work, nor did the stain remover. I had stains all over my face and neck for days and to make matters worse, my hair looks horrible!! It’s the brassiest, most fake ugly red I’ve ever seen. I’m trying to figure out how to get the ugly fake blue red out of my hair!!!! Brassy colorI spoke with a stylist before my order was made and told her my hair tends to go yellow and red. I told her to make sure it's ash colored. I got a copper, brassy brown. I could have gotten this from a box of L'oreal and spent $10 less. It left my hair dry feeling and straw like. Not happy. Not sure if I'm going to try it again with a different color. Washed Out LookThe color was ok when done. Not great but , ok. Within Two washes, with Paul Mitchell products, it is very light and roots are visibly lighter. I had purchased the root touch up but it doesn’t help. It even sort of makes the hair wirey.
