Great idea in theory...I compliment the company on their idea. However, trying to match my color on line just did not work. I am a red head by bottle and my colorist sent me a bottle of light brown with red highlights that did not cover my grey wisps. So, disappointed and depressed, I don't even want to look in the mirror. The products were good quality, my hair is soft, little to no bad smell. For $29.99 you would think they could throw in a small plastic trash bag? I am going back to my OTC color and save $10. The Colorist Ignored EverythingBeware that eSalon does not appear to read the requests of its clients, which is sad because I used this company 5 years or so ago and had a good experience. For example -- and I use this because it's a great example that it was not my fault -- my hair had no dye in it. I explained that. What did I get? A root kit and an ends kit. But there were no roots! Why would I need two different sets of dye when all of my hair was "virgin" hair??? One color should have been created. That's just an example of just how much eSalon did not care what I said. The color was horrid and nothing like I wanted, which was basically just the color I had. I just wanted to cover up the whites that were popping up. When I called just now to explain the situation, the customer service representative said, "I cannot work with you if you are going to be negative about the colorist." Messy product - Color flat - Added to auto ship program w/o my permissionThe color was okay, but turned out flat, not shiny like most hair colors do. When applying and rinsing, the consistency is weird and it gets everywhere. Then a month later we received another box. When I ordered, I specifically chose a single trial. I did not sign up for an auto membership. I would never have even tried your product if I knew this was a thing. So now I have to go through the mess of trying to get it credited and returned. Custom Color SetMy hair is the driest it's ever been and it's the shortest it's ever been. Not sure what's going on. Also, I need to adjust the color as it takes about 5 washings before the "bozo" color tames down. Dissatified with how long it lastedI did like the color but it did not last as long as I hoped. I also noticed with the instructions included that my roots had a different color than the rest of my hair. Complete disappointmentFirst colorist jumped too light with my dark blonde/light brown underneath hair- made it red! The very thing I warned the colorist of happening. I had wonderful customer service with the second colorist empathizing and sending out correction dye. This made it more red! After a second attempt to correct- which I appreciate this, since you guarantee satisfaction. The 3 Rd coloring attempt made it dark red! I wanted light blonde, not Auburn red! They said they can't help me and I should go back to my expensive salon! Thanks for absolutely nothing! I'll make sure 21k get this review! Not recommending to anyone ever! Overcharging /Customer Service unpofessionalMy subscription is $27.15 each shipment and I was charged $50 and my name paid it. After numerous email they have no decency to respond to email and insist that they did not get the $50 payment when it was taken from my account. WATCH OUT PEOPLE ! Taking my business somewhere else. My hair turned orangeI've used this same color for a long time now but this last time, the base of my hair turned orange while the edge half of my hair was dark dark brown. Way too dark colorWhile this is easy to use, the color they sent me was just way too dark and now I will just have to wait a year or more to grow it all out. Not what I wanted or expectedThis is not what I wanted or expected. I wanted a more deep violet/purple tone, instead I got a very deep auburn tone, it almost looks brown in certain lighting. Although it does reflect the red tones in direct sunlight. This is really not what I was wanting or hoping for. Lazy/ I wanted one stepI dislike colouring my hair very much. I was disappointed because it was two separate steps roots + ends. I (personally) need one step. I did not get the full effect of my colour because I only used the root bottle on my whole head. I however LOVED the colour for my roots. I was a bit scared to try the other because of how different the colour ratio looked (totally my fear & I didn't try) it was just me being unfamiliar. The price + shipping on top of it, is not something I want to commit to paying that much for. I usually buy store box dye, so quite a bit cheaper. Color did nothing for me.I filled out the details saying I wanted to lighten my hair, sent a photo, followed the instructions, what I got was pretty much no change in hair color at all. Turned my ash blonde hair RED! Good customer service.Requested ash or cool toned blonde and it made my hair strawberry colored! Called customer support and they sent me a correction kit at no charge, saying that I must process "warm". The new kit just maintained the red tone and didn't help. After two tries, I'm done, Always been an ash or cool toned medium blonde & in my experience they cannot provide a product for that color. Customer service is good. My instructions were not followed.My initial color was too brown, I canceled my account and was told I'd receive a free shipment if I wanted to try and explain to my "colorist" what it was I was looking for in contrast to what I received. I'm a redhead with just a touch of brown for a slight auburny copper look. I wanted the rich coppery light auburn. The first shipment was equal parts brown and mahogany with a touch of red. NOPE! I took you up on your free offer and requested a touch of brown, no mahogany, and more coppery red. This time it was mostly brown. Period. Roots and old growth very differentMy old growth had faded. This is very common with hair tones that have red. So when I followed the directions I ended up with roots that had a dark rich color and a head full of brassy, washed out color. I am very disappointed. Violet colorThe color was okay at first it didn’t last much but I’d rather go lighter next time just want to wait a bit more till it washes away. It did also sting a lot more this time when I put it on I don’t know why but it was stinging as I had the product on taking its course. grey was back in a couple of daysI colored my hair and a couple of days later the root of my hair was grey again at the front of my hairline. I had the color most concentrated in that area too. Color a bit too golden.I ‘m ok with the color but.... not happy, I know you adjusted it to make it softer but I think you have added golden color and I think it needs to be more reddish brown.?. Not as orderedWhen I spoke to the representative by telephone before my last shipment, I stressed very strongly that my previous color was too brown and needed a lot more copper. My hair color is medium copper red. The results after coloring my hair with the last shipment of color was brown with barely a touch of red. Not happy with the hair color at all! You're going to have to improve significantly for me to remain in the program. I do not want a shipment this month.
