Wish it lasted moreI have highlights and I don't use regular shampoo. I use hair cleaner with no sulfates and I clean my hair twice a week. The grey coverage starting fading quicker than expected. It lasted longer than store bought product, but less than when I have my roots done at the hair salon. Not enough pigmentation to color my hair to my desired color.I am canceling my account and will not order again. I sent pics of the color of my hair and sent a pic of the desired color I was seeking. I'm not saying this is a bad product but it does not work for me and my gray hair. I followed directions and even extended time left on as I know I have a lot of gray. While this product may or may not contain more pigment then shelve bought colors but not enough to achieve the color I was seeking. Did not fully cover the grayI love the color but it did not sufficiently cover my gray even from day one. The gray around my temples did not color at all. Misleading Coloring ContentsLove the product, hate the customer service and misleading website. Made my first order in June and was very happy with the product. However, when my second shipment in July arrived it did not include the applicator brush. Which is shown on the website to be included with the order for all the price points. So I sent in a support ticket and didn't hear anything back for 2 weeks, so I put in another and got an email back saying that the coloring kit doesn't include the application brush. I sent them a picture of their website showing that it "includes all the tools you need" (which includes the application brush) and they said that is only with your first order, well it doesn't indicate that on their website. So, instead of dealing with a misleading website and subpar customer service, I am canceling my subscription. Great color/bad applicationThis is the third time I've used the esalon service for my hair color. They have tweaked my color to one that I do really like however the application part of it is not one that I enjoy. I understand I am not a professional but I have loads of experience in both applying my own color and having my color professionally done. The first time using it I don't recall any issues, the second time using it I couldn't get the color to rinse out, it felt like it seized up on my scalp and I literally had to scrub my scalp extremely hard with my nails in order to get it out. I actually emailed about it and was told to use a clarifying shampoo. I just applied this again today (thinking maybe I did something wrong or I was just the unlucky recipient of a faulty mix) and the same thing happened again. I had to scrub to get the seized product off my scalp. I followed the directions extra cautiously because of the last time and it still happened. I love the final color but am angered over the experience and unfortunately will be cancelling my subscription as a result. Hair Feels Full of ProductI will start of by saying the colour is great, I am just disappointed by how horrible my hair feels. I had now washed it 3 times (in one day) and it still feels sticky from product I am hoping the 4th shampoo will get the rest out. Also the mess!!! The application of root touch up was great but when it came to step 2 it was far too runny and went everywhere, so much so I had to stand in the garden as it was dripping all over the place. Tried new colorI changed my normal color to a dark brown with a purple tint to it. While the product covered my hair well, it did NOT change my color at all. I followed the directions to a tee, I event timed each step with my phone to get it right. My hair is colored and it looks nice but their is no difference from my usual color. Something is wrong!Two times the coloring clumped up in my hair like a waxy substance that took 3-4 washing with shampoo other than the shampoo provided. The first time it happened I figured it was me and I had read the directions wrong. The second time I especially paid attention and followed directions. It still clumped. My hair is normal, color treated (every 2 months for root touch-ups), a bit dry but not abnormal. I use minimum styling products just a touch of hair spray or flat iron protection. I air dry my hair. Not really designed for dark black Asian hair.This is the third tweak I've made to my custom hair color. I really want purple-ish hair (there used to be a L'Oreal Feria deep purple color) but my dark black Asian hair really needs to be bleached before taking on any color. Not happyThis time I only received one bottle, I never confirmed I wanted one bottle but used it to the instructions thinking it would be the same! Minimal coverageI colored my hair June 29th and it's now July 17 less than 3 weeks since I colored and my grey hair is already showing to the point where I need to re color. With my normal hair color I can go 4 maybe 5 weeks without having to re color. I would definitely not purchase this again. Great idea but needs some tweakingI love the idea of having my hair color on a timed schedule, and delivered straight to my house. I like the custom blending. My one complaint is that it is not nourishing at all to my hair! Mixed Feelings.So I was going from bleach blonde to black and decided to go with eSalon as I'd seen many videos on YouTube about how great their products were. The first package I had included a "filler" color of red which is needed before going dark again, and then a demi-permanent "Soft Black" to go over top. At first I was extremely unhappy, the color applied black but didn't come out as black. I ended up with a mousey brown color that I really disliked, so I contacted my colorist. I have to say, eSalon's customer service is incredible, super friendly and helpful and has a really nice personal touch which is great. I then got sent out a permanent Soft Black with blue tint color as I had requested, free of charge in line with eSalon's policy which I thought was amazing. After applying that according to the instructions, I rinsed it out and voila, had such shiny beautiful black hair just like I wanted! Now here is my problem, not even two weeks later my hair has faded almost entirely back to the original mousey brown it was that I disliked. I'm devastated, as this color was supposed to be permanent, and anyone who has ever dyed their hair black knows how very permanent that color usually is. I'm extremely disappointed as I thought this would be the best route for my hair but alas it has been a whole load of back and forth between dying and then the product not living up to my expectations. This could just be my hair and it may be that it just doesn't work with it, but I have to say to have a "permanent" color fade almost totally within two weeks is extremely disappointing. Although I would say my experience wasn't the greatest I know there are plenty of people who have had great experiences with this company and products. MehWhen it comes to at home color, I want easy. I don't want to wait so many minutes then use another bottle and wait more. When attempting to wash out the color after processing, I was concerned. I rinsed until the water ran clear and used the packets that came with it. However, my hair was so stiff and almost sticky. I took a shower again the next morning, at lunch and again at night only using conditioner hoping it would help. It took a few days for my hair to feel normal again. Color was TOO dark and I was VERY unhappy trying to cancel my account.Not only did I cancel my account PRIOR to the next scheduled ship date (the color was too dark and I did not wish to continue with this company) but they shipped and billed me ANYWAY. Quick fadeAt first I was pretty excited about the color and even the packaging with my name written all pretty across it. But on the 2nd day I noticed the my gray strands had a brassy look to it, so it was still pretty light. My roots turned out orange and the ends still had blonde in them because it said only leave it on ten mins I think one color on ends longer would have turned out better. Just HorribleAsked for a color change to reflect a slightly darker ash blonde. Once I colored my hair, which is easy to do in my home, my hair was a bright red. It was horrible. I had an appointment to get hilites but once my hair stylist saw the color and that I was soooo upset with the color, she helped change the color. She did what she called CPR on my hair. Now my hair color is a darker mousey brown with red hilites. I don't like the color but under the circumstances I have to live with it until late August when she can do something with it. My total expense to get this mousey brown that I absolutely hate is $23 for esalon product and $65 for the CPR.. very upset and want to unsubscribe to the program. Thank you for reading my message. Awesome color, but didn't lastThe color was excellent and as I had requested, although you could see a slight difference between the roots application and the main hair color application. It did initially color my gray well, but did not last as long as I was hoping it would. Definitely a two person jobJust did my first esalon coloring job. Definitely needed two people to get good results. I asked a co-worker for her honest opinion of my haircolor. She said it looked splotchy - kind of like I spent time out in the sun and the top was bleached by the sun. I went from a light brown to a darker brown. I just am not happy. Will not do it again. I'll be recoloring with a box color again tomorrow and deep conditioning. I used the brush method as described in the instructions. The color is very drab. The color is still too darkI had to put off coloring my hair longer than usual, due to surgery. I used the 2 step color process. This color was far from what I wanted or expected, yet I got the exact same color, & did it correctly!! The roots are a dark brown, & the ends (bottle #2) turned my hair into a bright purple-ish Red!! I have 2 very different colors now! I'm not happy to say the least!! I've never had color issues from the salon I went to, & when a box color from walmart looks so much better than this coloring there's a big issue! June/July 2016 This color is better than it was the 1st time, however my hair is still too dark/deep (brown) I left it on longer to cover the gray, as suggested, but it came back in the same amount of time. Feb/March 2016 This color was much better than the 1st one from Dec/Jan. I'd like it to be a shade lighter, otherwise it's looks good. Horrible Color!I was sent light brown mahogany when I was told it would be medium brown mahogany and it's a carrot top orange color. Ugg nIm returning product and don't understand now a professional color company can determine with only a photo the right mixture for my hair? Not worth the money. Never AgainThis is the most horrendous hair treatment product I have ever used. The ammonia smell is absolutely overpowering. My partner always does my roots and colour and could hardly see as his eyes were streaming and the smell was overpowering for us both. Having persevered to do the whole head I washed with the shampoo and conditioner purchased but it was nearly impossible to wash out. It coated the hair with what I can only describe as a silicone, leaving my hair sticky and totally unmanageable for days after, even after many further washes and conditions. Something is happening with the formula?With the last application, my hair looks dry, gray hair is not covered. I followed the instructions step by step as usual. Horrible resultsFollowed directions that I received with my color Didn't cover gray. I called and complained they sent me a new batch, needless to say that didn't cover my grey either after washing my hair. First time buyerI recently received my first color from esalon and it didn't turn out as expected. When doing my profile I did opt to not do a video call with a stylist, but I did upload a current pic of myself and responded to several of the stylists emails. She had suggested that I change my original color selection to one that would create a subtle change to my hair color and gradually change it. I agreed. The color I received WAS a drastic change and not the subtle change I was expecting. I didn't know that the gloves were in the box with the shampoo and conditioner - maybe that should be more clear in the instructions as we don't open that box until the very last step and I used ziplock bags on my hands. I did like the color very much even though it wasn't the expected color based on the email conversations, but it dried my hair out so much that I had to go to a salon anyway to get a deep conditioning treatment. For 2 weeks my hair felt like I had used hairspray and I don't use any products.
