Turned my hair brassy/red-orange!!!!!I asked for a lighter color and more gray coverage. The color I had previously wa LJ-06-15VOL. . It was never brassy... It was changed to LJ-07-20VOL. I hate the resulting color.. I'm cancelling my membership; I'll find a better color elsewhere. It's a shame, because my daughterr and I have been members for over 2 years now. DISAPPOINTING!. Not enough hair color to color entirety of my hairI did not receive enough hair color to color all of my hair. I have extremely thick hair and I had the entire left side of my head without color. Turned my hair cherry chocolateI just tried your product and was very excited for positive results. My color before dying my hair today was a caramel brown with blond high lights and medium brown roots. My goal as specified was to return my hair to it's natural color, a golden medium brown. The hair dye turned my hair a deep maroon brown with crimson highlights. It definitely does not look natural and it is excessively red. Confused!My original order was for a deep red/violet... that was great! Then i received my 2nd and the color was completely different. When I called about the color I was told it was because of the gloss (Im not sure if thats the right term) I want my COLOR, not gloss, to be a red/violet. Is that possible? Color was fine.Color was fine, was almost what I had wanted out of it. However, the past three times I dyed my hair using esalon, it had left my hair feeling overly moisturized or really oily/greasy, no matter how much I scrubbed at it. Not a Red HeadEveryone I dealt with was polite and seemed to want to be accommodating, however, I feel that I was not truly listened to concerning my desired color. I stressed with detailed info and pictures that my experience with coloring my hair is undesired red tones. I was assured that a color could be designed for me that would eliminate this outcome. I had 4 tries of using this product and two adjustments, I provided detailed feedback and included pictures of my hair after using this product. All 4 times my hair color came out red. Sometimes the red was darker but still very red. I also was discouraged with the grey coverage. I started this process in August 2016 it is now January 2017. Hair color didn't change like I wanted it toWhen I sent in photos and changes for my hair color, I thought there would actually be a change in what my color would look like once I finished coloring. Color didn't stickSo I love everything about this service -the user-friendliness, the quick delivery, the price, the packaging, even the shampoo and conditioner for after-coloring- but the color I applied didn't take anywhere but my roots, so now I have reddish/copper roots and dark brown hair, which is a bit funky looking. Not even close to a matchI was excited to try my "custom" color. It was to be a very dark violet brown to closely match my current shade. At the time of application, my regrowth was about 3/4 of an inch and more than 70% gray, as my profile states. End results; some regrowth became a light orange/gold and the rest took no color at all. I am very disappointed with the colorIn the beginning the color was not what I had asked for. I originally wanted black base with hints of violet. I received an email requesting to take it down to a darkest brown that was closer to my natural color, which is not what I wanted. so I told them go ahead and do it, because they said it would look like I wanted it to look. After I put it on my hair I had Auburn roots medium brown middle of my hair and a little bit of a hint of violet toward the roots. all that would have been perfect if it had been black to purple but I did not want Brown. I was told it would be adjusted. I now go and look at my account again and I see that they still have red in my formula my hair is naturally an auburn color I don't want red, if I wanted red I would not be coloring it. I'm going to give it one more shot and if I'm not satisfied this time I'll go back to buying it in the store. I just noticed they say they will reship to correct it. No one offered to do that for me. Did not meet expectations.The kit came with everything it said it would and the products came all nice and neat and worked for the most part. After only 3 washes though, all of the color was gone. All it had done was taken out the last color i put in and i was back to natural. Not even close to the color I wantedI explained in advance that I wanted to make my hair a bit more red and asked for the color mix to be redder to lighten and brighten my hair up. I was told it couldn't be done over darker auburn colored hair. It literally didn't even enhance my hair color. I ended up going to my local professional cosmetology store and was advised on only needing to by red color of my choice and a developer in 30 lift, which did provide the red I was trying to achieve. So, the colorist that replied to my original message was totally wrong and I paid for a coloring mix that did nothing for my hair. Feels like you are putting a waxy mask on your hairThe color did not work for me. Its was way too dark. As a result I ended up with darker roots and darker locks around the face (where gray hair is more prevalent) than the rest of my hair. Also, I don't like the texture of the coloring mixture after you rinse it out of your hair. It feels like a tough wax mixture that will not wash away. Not too happy this time around!I used my hair dye on Dec. 15 and I followed directions as I did the last 2 times. This time when I shampooed, conditioned it and then rinsed it all out it felt very matted. For the next 7 days I had to rinse it with water and used a comb to get all the product off. Great color - Extremely irritating to my skinThe color is GREAT. This product is extremely irritating to my skin.... even more than the drugstore brands I have used in the past. Custom Hair ColorAt first I loved the colors that were designed for me, but after using it for a while the color was darker and darker. I have dark brown hair naturally, well before the gray started. The next shipment would come in and I would use it but it just began looking lifeless. OK hair colourCouldn't find the instructions, overpriced and gimmicky. What would improve the product, a decent TUBE not sachets of shampoo and conditioner, come on sachets are so Nigella Lawson a bit dated and patronising the audience. I don't mind a sachet when I get a freebie and frankly they haven't got much product in either. I want to submerse my hair in luxuriant conditioner after I've coloured it. Not fiddle around trying to tear off a corner of an ill conceived sachet. Plus eSalon you missed a trick in promoting your shampoo and conditioner. I love conditioners that come in hair dye products and want more and would happily buy a larger bottle if sold. A Surprisingly Awful ExperienceI used the Custom Hair Color a couple of times and couldn't understand why the roots were not the right color. But nevertheless, I was getting the hang of doing it myself. The last time I applied it, I had asked them to take out the red, but this time instead of being a dark brown which I hoped for, the roots were a light, mustardy, brassy brown. And what's worse is that when I applied the color this time it burned like hell! My scalp felt irritated for days afterward. Just your typical over the counter hair dye.I have dark brown hair and usually spend $150 to change my hair color. I was happy to see the excellent reviews on this product. Tried it one time and it is not for me. The smell alone is the same as the over the counter hair dye. On top of this, once I was finished using the product, you couldn't tell I did anything to my hair. Color issuesI love the product as far as the end result right after coloring. But the product doesn't seem to stay long on the gray temples (seems to wash out within a couple of weeks). Also, after 2 changes in hair color shading, the color seems to still be soooo dark at first (first week) then it calms down to closer of the color I would like, but the gray starts to surface in my temples after that 3rd wk. BEWAREI will start by saying I loved the hair color. It did what they said it would do and it is an excellent product. Unfortunately, that is the least of your problems here. I received an email for a promotion for their hair care products. It seemed like too good a deal and you know what they say - and in this case it is very true. I ordered the promotional items (a deal involving purchase of 3 of their shampoos, etc) and they were immediately shipped. Within 3 days they also shipped my hair color order WITH DUPLICATES OF THE 3 ITEMS PURCHASED ON THE PROMOTION BUT AT FULL PRICE! I haven't even had a chance to try the products yet, so absolutely don't want to pay $45 for something I'm not even sure I will ever use. I called to inquire how eSalon would take care of this problem and encountered the rudest customer service rep ever. She didn't seem to know how to do her job to begin with - she let me try to explain the problem without even asking for my name, order number, etc.. Then when she realized she didn't have any idea what I was talking about, she got my info and we started over. She looked at my account and promptly announced that I had ordered the items twice. Once on promotion and once to be shipped with my hair color. Um, no. Why would I do that? She proceeded to speak to me condescendingly as if I were of VERY limited intelligence. She ended up telling me to send the product back which would be fine, except I did not expect to pay to ship something back I didn't order to begin with. I asked for a postage paid return label. Her response, after a sigh, was to explain to me as if speaking to a toddler that I should just take it back to the post office. When I pointed out that the post office would not ship something for free just because I asked them to, she gave another long-suffering sigh and told me to write "Return to Sender" on it. Not what was expectedThe color made my hair darker than its original color. I ordered a copper burgundy and there was no copper or burgundy in my hair when it was all done. Too DarkThis "light" blonde was waaay too dark. I followed the directions precisely and my hair came out darker than it was before. It even darkened my blonde highlights! The only silver lining...ironically, I was worried it would be too light, so at least I can go to my hairdresser to add some light back in. This was my attempt to do something more affordable, but it did not come out right. Hair colorIf I could give a review without any stars, I would. This color is too dark, and it can't be changed according to your professionals. Not what I expectedI was not pleased with my last color. I had hot pink patches. Mainly on the ends where my hair was lighter. I didn't like this color. Disappointed 😞My Hair color was great the day of and day after coloring.Exactly what I wanted. I recieved so many great compliments on my color. After the first washing half the color came out, my hair color looked faded and dull. I used color safe shampoo and waited 2 days before washing.
