Expected colorHmm, sad to write this review. My before hair color was dark brown and I wanted to get entirely copper colored hair from Esalon. The package and instructions came very professionally and i followed every details to how to color my hair. The result was I did not get copper colored hair and my previous color more likely to dominated on my hair. Not bad...The color was fine and the process was easy but my hair needs more than an all-over color so it just wasn't right for me. not permanentMy grays were completely showing after only 2 washes. Every time I wash my hair, the color comes out (my color is blue/black, so image that all of the shower!). Still a little too red....Know red is hard to cover. Really want to get away from red hair and requested a darker brown but got a light brown that on top of red made a mid auburn color. StainingThe color is flat and the staining on my scalp is unacceptable. I have been coloring my hair at home for years and have never experienced anything like this. No gray coveredThis product did not cover the gray roots in my hair virtually at all. The kit itself itself is terrific idea but if it does not cover gray at all then it isn't worth much. Even if it did a great job of covering the gray with a tone that is similar to my hair color, I am not certain that it is affordable to most at $20 plus $5 shipping. Still need work on the stubborn grayThe 2nd time around the color was customized and it did justiced. However the 3rd one still the same as the very first one did not cover the gray well. I still see my gray. I did follow instructions as it indicated in the booklet. Please adjust appropriately like the second one. I was happy with that. 1st and only coloringI am happy with how the dark brown turned out, however I'm not happy with the product itself. I have never used a hair dye that burned my scalp and stained my skin so badly. I don't believe I will be ordering again unless I have someone to help me to deal with the drips and scalp stains. Very Pleasant Customer ServiceI have to give two stars for the wonderful customer service. Each individual I interacted with was a pleasure to speak with, receptive & followed through with whatever they said they would do promptly. However, my color change was from blonde highlights to my root base, with a hint of mahogany red. It was explained that the transition may take more than one service. This is because I needed a colorfill. The color was off though & quite red. I love red, but this was orangey red the more I looked at it. Also, my roots were dark brown. They sent me out a second color which would make my roots & ends the same color. I did a strand test & sadly there was no result. I sent pictures again showing the strand test result, or lack thereof. They did offer to make a new color mixture. At that point I did not want to stress my hair out anymore than it was. It seems my hair just does not take to this dye. The personnel are wonderful & the packaging is adorable with explicit directions. Make the decision for me, despite me voicing my opinionI'll start by saying that the dye is very good quality, easy to use and rinse off my skin, and left hair soft after application. My complaint is that I felt my opinion on what I wanted to do with my hair was ignored in ordering this. I asked for an overall hair color, I had gotten my hair dyed at the salon, and they made my hair more of a red than a copper, and I wanted to re-dye my whole head the more copper color I selected. When my color was sent out however, I was told they only made me a dye to re-color my roots, and received a complimentary ends touch up with my first purchase, all of which only kept my hair the same color it was before based on my pictures. I still used the dye, and like I said, it's a quality dye, and the personalized instructions are great too. I just wish they hadn't overlooked what I wanted as much. Awful colour and after textureI'm very disappointed with the Colour. I was bright red. I'm now dark black/red. There is a greasy coating to my hair and it feels like I need to immediately wash it after only just washing my hair. I won't be continuing my subscription. I will be requesting a refund. Color good. Hair seems dry.I thought the color turned out very well but when I went to wash it out my hair was very brittle and dry -- I've never experienced that with any home color before. It didn't soften up until I added the after-color conditioner and even then seems more dry than before. not as good as beforeI don't know if the formulation changed, but the texture of my last hair color product seemed "drier" than it used to be, it didn't spread as easily in my hair. I like that it doesn't leak everywhere, but the consistency seemed different this time. I was also disappointed with the color itself. I specifically requested no red, and to neutralize the red, but my brown is definitely reddish. Color is great, but damaged hair.I love the color and have used it three times now. I have used the same hair products for years, but noticed my hair has become tangled and difficult to brush since using the E salon product. When getting my hair cut it was pointed out that all of elasticity is gone from my hair from the color product. Shortest coverage for grays...ever!Okay, I've tried my custom color - it is a great match and a nice color, which is what makes it even more disappointing - three times now. I apply as prescribed to cover my grays - and I'm 99% sure this is not user error - been doing this for a lot of years now. Each time, by the second day - without washing, mind you - my grays are showing around the edges. I don't know what might cause this, but it is frustrating to go from perfect coverage one day to not so perfect the next. It goes downhill from there. Dull colorI tried several times to get my color right but, it never changed. I wanted a nice chocolate with a hint of some red. I really like a mahogany color. It came out drab. I also ordered the gloss and all that was, was another color with 20 volume developer. my hair is completely dried out from it. This is my last order from e-salon. Heavy wax residue- DisappointedI was very excited to try out esalon as I have seen this advertised in multiple places and it is very affordable. I was very pleased with the specialized instructions and specialized label on my hair dye bottles. Although I was extremely disappointed with the hair dye. I got permanent hair dye and It would not wash out of my hair and left massive amounts of wax in my long hair. My hair wouldn't even dry completely and was very sticky and waxy. I always dye my hair and have never had this happened until now. I will not be buying again. My hair looks horrible...ugh!When I opened the box I was really impressed. Everything was great till I started to dry and I could see the color. Strawberry blondeI was looking to lighten my original hair colour and cover up a few grey hairs. I didn't expect my hair to look strawberry blonde bout dark blonde especially after getting a call from my colourist asking if I was looking to go strawberry blonde as my original choice in her opinion would turn it that colour 😩 So when l took her advice and went with dark blonde imagine my surprise when hey presto l get strawberry blonde 😂 This is also my first experience of dying my hair. A little more red than expectedI wanted a purple highlight, but it turned out red. They were going to adjust the color, which I like, but all of a sudden today I noticed the gray roots really showing through. DisappointedI was excited to try this product after all the hype, although product arrived quicker than expected the result was very disappointing. It did make a slight colour difference to my roots but as for the rest of my hair made absolutely no difference to the colour at all. First time, very unsatisfactoryUnfortunately this product did not live up to the hype. The colour was not at all Copper Golden as it was labeled. The smell was so awful I literally could not open my eyes at times during application. Burning, stinging, watery eyes do not make for a happy process. Great color, but damaged my hairI used esalon for the first time last month and was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was. The color arrived at my door with thorough instructions and everything but the gloves! I had a friend help apply the color and loved it. I darkened my hair from a mousey brown to a deep brown with violet undertones, and the color looks great. However, while marked Demi-permanent, I believe it was permanent color. My hair is so damaged from this product, and when I went to my hair dresser to liven it up again, she said a Demi-permanent would have begun to fade already, while my color is still very pigmented.
