Adding more Ash tones to my color.I believe the only way to get more toward Ash is to make a jump in that direction rather than little bumps in that direction. I don't know where my next shipment will end up colorwise but would like to see much more ash and cream. I love the product though. Not Salon qualityI followed the step by step instructions and just like with store bought hair color, my roots and ends are about 4 shades different. It does not look anything like the color I picked out and the red washed out literally after the first wash (which I waited 3 days to wash for that very worry). Not impressed at all. NOT GOOD ON MY GRAYI loved the finished color as it was so closely matched to my natural color. I'm horribly disappointed with the lackluster life for coverage on my gray. Though i don't have a lot of gray, It is most prominent at my hairline around my temples and forehead. It's been 3 weeks since I colored and my gray is back to its old self, started showing back through after 1 week. DripsI have very course grey and this product did not cover my roots. I do like the extras in the box eg.2 pairs of gloves,shampoo and conditioner,stain remover. My overall color is medium brown and this particular custom design made my hair too brassy and dry.I am aware that can be altered through trial and error but I do not feel it is worth the time.The overall consistency is very runny and the color dripped down my neck. My hair is BRIGHT ORANGE! So uglyI followed the directions completely. This is NOT dark blonde with "pearl copper". My hair is a hideous bright orange red. It looks NOTHING like the picture on the website. I was expecting dark blonde with some red undertones. Either the colorist screwed up this 'custom color' or it's false advertising. My hair feels like straw and the ends are breaking off. I have to go to a salon now to fix this. I will never buy this again... I've had better color from a box at the drug store compared to this. Plus the smell is horrible. My eye were watering the entire time and I had to open four windows to get the smell out. I'm so angry that I'm going to have to bleach my hair to get this color out. If I knew it would be this orangy red, I never would have bought it. liked the quicknessI liked how quickly the process was but the blend was far too dark. Perhaps i overestimated the amount of mahogany placed in my color. I followed the directions to the letter yet my hair came out close to black as opposed to having some golden and red highlights. I may come back and try again when i return to the states. Feels like glue when you start rinsing itWhen I got in a shower to rinse the color, it felt as if I applied glue to my head. it was sticky and I could feel it on my scalp. Not enough colorThere was not enough product to color my whole head. I followed the instructions to a t and my hair was distinctly two different colors because my hair had faded so much since the last color. Also, I had requested a slight color change and have not been notified that the color was ever changed. I would like to see more coppery red added to the color. It doesn't last - I don't like itI've used this product twice now and twice my hair has gotten lighter. I've asked for it to be darker and it was in the beginning, but I think this is not a permanent product because my hair has gotten lighter and lighter. Unfortunately, the color "rinsed" off of the gray strands after a week of washing. It coverered initially, but without lasting results I can't say whether or not I'll order again. ExperimentingMy first order I thought was too dark so I asked to have the next order lightened a slight bit. I find that the revised color seemed to fade faster than the first order (which I didn't like because it was too dark). So I'm contemplating what changes if any to make to my next order. not so crazy about my last shipment after color changeI'm still trying to get to the color I need. I sent in a request for alterations, but the color that was sent on Jan. 24th was worse than the previous one. The color was more one dimensional, and even more reddish/coppery tones than the previous one. Don't wish to buy againI put the colour on as per instructions. My hair has been on for one week and is two different colours, you can still see the difference between my roots and the rest of my hair. Completely darker than expectedI have mixed feelings. On the one hand I think the quality of the dye is great (great coverage and happy with the overall dyeing experience), the color is about 5 shades darker than what I was expecting based on the color I chose. I don't hate the color per se, but I am trying to adjust to the fact that it's darker than what I was aiming for. Not much I can do about. Will probably continue to use it and keep the color because I don't HATE it but I was disappointed and did receive unexpected results. Wouldn't sell me the right colorAfter a few months of using esalon, I had to have my hair stripped due to ashy residue from the color. I requested a change; they never responded. I kept using the color I had on hand, had my hair professionally lightened again, and a LICENSED stylist helped me select the correct color. Esalon REFUSED to sell me the requested color. Smells terribleI used Madison Reed Color service online. Their color didnt damage my hair at all. After I used esalon color (dark brown) my hair was so damage. It's smells terrible, like a box color for $3 from the store. And I couldnt color my long hair as fast as it required. It was hard to wash it off. Now Prons: love the shampoo and condi, smells great. MehhhhThe color came out orangey, brassy, I'm not happy. Not sure what happened. My roots were gray, I supplied 2 pictures of my current color, and so I don't know why roots would turn out this way. I had to purchase another color product at Pharmacy to somewhat correct. I don't feel this is personalized at all, They just take information from the questions, but the questions were too general, they need deeper dive into a person's color situation to be "personalized" More question on the roots. Great coverageThe reformulated color is good. Provides great coverage, but looking for ways to preserve the highlighting. Since coverage is so good, has a tendency to color the entire head, not just where it's applied. Losing that shineI have absolutely loved the convenience of having my hair color delivered to my home every 5 weeks ---- I travel alot for my career so it makes it convenient and easy to keep up the color by having home delivery; however, these past two applications my hair has not looked as healthy as the previous applications. Hair dyeWas way to light and didn't really find it differant from the dye I use from the store and find it easier to pick the right color your product was find. Will not repurchaseThis was my 3rd time coloring with Esalon color over the last 6 months. The first two times, I was very happy with the color and the process. It left my hair feeling very nice. This time around, I applied the color per the instructions. The only difference this time was I changed the color. When I rinsed the color off, it literally took an hour to get the color out. It made my hair feel very rubbery and slick. I had to shampoo it 4 times. I think it totally defeated the purpose of coloring my hair and I had to use different shampoo because the little packet of shampoo they provide you wasn't enough to get the color out. After drying my hair, my hair is VERY damaged and fried (my hair was super healthy before this color application) and my hair feels very greasy. You also cannot tell I colored my hair. Better and yet notLet me begin with this....I LOVE YOUR PRODUCT but more than that I ADORE YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE. I am still havenjoy to have some tweaking done with color and coverage. The gray on temple and front hairline still don't seem to stay dark but better than first few. My other concern is that it being a more Golden color vs the red chocolate brown color I prefer. When first colored it has a deepness to it but it lightens quickly and to a a golden color. I know while continuing it will become the rich chocolate brown I am wanting. Unhappy with productThe color just wasn't for me. It was brassy and after a few shampoos it was orangish in color. I was sent an email stating that my credit is about to expire and I would like my money refunded to the address in which the color was shipped. Expected colorHmm, sad to write this review. My before hair color was dark brown and I wanted to get entirely copper colored hair from Esalon. The package and instructions came very professionally and i followed every details to how to color my hair. The result was I did not get copper colored hair and my previous color more likely to dominated on my hair.
