Not sure how to feelThe first time I used this product it covered my grays for about two month. The last two times I used it my grays showed back up after 2 weeks. Doesn't cover gray well.I follow the instructions but find the color doesn't cover my roots for much more than 2 weeks. The first time I used it, the color lasted longer. Red headingThe color is lighter than the original but it is still too dark for my taste. Love the easiness of coloring my hair though. I prefer lighter colors than this reddish strawberry. Not what it used to beI give this product two stars because it used to work wonderfully for me when I started using it almost 3 years ago. It is a great color, but I have noticed that the color does not last like it used to. Within a week, my roots are already showing. And that is with using sulphate-free, color safe shampoo. It used to be there weeks before my roots started coming back, but it has consistently lasted me a week and I've had to use other root touch ups in the mean time. Last batch made me so itchy!I've used this product a number of times, but the last batch seemed different. It made my skin so itchy! I got a drop on my neck and that spot was particularly bad. Not For Touchups! :(The color turned out great, but I only used less than 1/4 of the product! :( I specified only for touchups around my face. There needs to be smaller vials of mixture maybe 4 vials per package. I had asked the question if I could save the unused product but quickly found out I could not! It started to bubble out and spill out all over. Very Disappointed. There needs to be a fix for this. I would like to have my money back since I did not get to use all of the product. Good results but not worth the effort...This is the third time I've used e-salon. The first two times I thought I must have done something wrong during application but now I've just realised the formula clearly doesn't agree with my hair. The application is easy, the colour is always nice but getting this out of my hair in the shower is truly awful. It clings to my hair so badly, it clumps into pieces under my finger nails and it takes 3-4 shampoos to get it off. Then once washed and dried it feels waxy in places afterwards. Too dark and horrible to wash outThe application process was easy enough, I enjoyed that it didn't have a strong smell and that it was pretty straight forward. That's kind of where the happiness ended. I applied the stain guard before colouring but I ended up with terrible stains around my hair line. The provided stain remover didn't do much to help. I appreciated that it was included but I'm not sure it actually helped. I usually use Vaseline as a guard and have no issues. The dye itself was miserable to get out. It was so thick, I was honestly scrapping it out of my hair and scalp on the few areas it got a little too rubbed in. Three shampoos later (including the provided shampoo which did smell lovely) and I finally feel like it's not caked in anymore. My hair feels disgusting the day after, not dry but very stringy and greasy. Almost matted. I did purchase and use the mask which probably helped. Add to all that, the color was supposed to be a dark brown, its black. It's one dimensional black. It looks terrible. I could've gone to a beauty supply store, spent $10 and had exactly what I wanted. Now... I have to pay to have my hair professionally lightened. Nice company,product not so muchI received the color and it was in a lovely box,with an additional free set so I can do my whole hair the first time around. The instructions were great, they provided two sets of gloves. The whole thing felt as pampered as an at home coloring could possibly get. I followed the instructions exactly. The issue was the actual product. The color left my hair feeling so dry, so bad, it was like chunks of straw. Even after using their conditioner I couldn't even get my fingers through it. I shampooed again, used tons of my own conditioner, and still. I ended up using a hair-mask which I left on for a few hours, and then it was somewhat manageable, but still didn't feel good. It took a few weeks for my hair to feel ok. I canceled the service, and it was easy to do,which is not always the case with companies that have you sign up for recurring orders. I like the website, the service seems to be good, and the box and instructions are actually great. I just wish the product was good for me,but it's the worse hair color I've ever used, and I've been coloring my own hair for years. I only go to a salon every 4-5th time I need to color. FrustratedI've used esalon before and loved it, but this time I got really dark coloring for my roots and lighter for the rest of my hair and I don't like how it turned out. PerformanceThe reason for coloring my hair is to cover the gray that is now appearing. I don't have tons of gray hair, but enough for me and those who know me well to notice. The color doesn't seem to "adhere" to those strands that are gray. This time when I colored I also left the color on for an additional 5 minutes of hoping to help this. Second, even when using products designed for colored hair, your color seems to start fading dramatically by the 4th or 5th wash. I'm not sure I will continue the product. Just not my colorOK you changed my color from light brown because it was leaving my hair a red color. Now it is darker brown and the red is darker. So, my hair is going from light brown to darker red and brown. What up?? Only will try to get this right one more time and that is it. This is ridiculous . Colour was weak and didn't last.I coloured my hair using a demi-permanent colour. The result was quite weak but I thought I'd give it a chance. Two washes later and you wouldn't know that my hair had been coloured - so disappointed. Waxy feelingThe color is usually pretty good. I keep asking for it to be more red and it turns out a bit more brown which I don't like. A Huge LetdownColor looks nothing like I expected. I was going for a golden brown and my hair turned out looking more like dark reddish brunette. The red is the most disappointing part as this is not what I wanted at all. I answered all questions and filled out my profile accordingly, even sent pictures, and the colorist did not even get close. To recap: not even close to the color I requested, it's already fading, and crappy gray coverage. Mine is already starting to come back through and it's been less than a week since I applied the color. Not what I wanted at all...This did nothing for my hair...I followed the instructions step by step, and I ended up with my roots pretty much brown/black and the rest of my hair a bit more lighter than what I had just with a reddish tint to it.So now I have to dye it a darker color to make it even all over. No better than box color and hard to get out of hairI'm no stranger to box color, and I was hoping this would be sort of a compromise between box color and salon color, but it was very much just your typical box color in a fancy box (and more than twice the price). The color came in a nice package with my name on the instructions saying it was specially formulated for me. But honestly, I couldn't help but feel like I paid $20 for box color with my name on it. There was nothing special about the process of application or the color itself. And it took FOREVER to wash out of my hair. I mean at least 20 minutes. I finally got it all out and washed/dryed my hair and I still feel like there's some in there! I like the idea of eSalon, and I reallllllly wanted to like this, but it's not worth the price. Unless you're brand new to box color and have no clue what color to get-- just go to the drugstore and pick it out yourself. Plus this product gives my hair a very odd texture which the other product didn't. The over packaging is also a bit much. what a disappointmentthe last shipment was complete disappointment. Salon has decided for me that roots will be enough, and sent only one colour, so I got brown instead of the red tone. I learned to mix both (root & ends) tones together to get the right tone, and now I have just brown. I can understand you do not want to send 2 bottles (though i assumed that was your offer), i am fine with that. but i find it unacceptable to decide for me what colour my hair should be, particularly because it is not what i was looking for. PassLet me start out by saying that I have gotten my hair bleached and dyed for many years, so I don't have a sensitive scalp. I even did the standard test patch on the inside of my arm to test for a reaction, that gave me no reaction. HOWEVER, when it put this on my scalp to do my roots... it burned. It didn't subside either, it got worse and worse. I could only stand it for 5 minutes before I had to wash this off my hair. It left my scalp riddled with chemical burns . Not happy with cream formulaThe color did not cover the gray as well. I was unable to color all of my roots...that is, I didn't have enough product. It was messy and hard to handle. Destroyed my hiarThis stuff literally destroyed my hair!!! UnpleasantUsed only once and wouldn't use again, very unpleasant texture and really difficult to wash out.. Colour was the same as a product that cost half the price. I had such high hopes!I tried this out and found it more difficult to use than a standard box of Clairol or L'Oréal from the store. The color my hair turned is probably the most disappointing part! They sent two separate colors and I don't understand why. I followed the directions exactly and now my hair is two different colors . I was hesitant seeing two formulas. Who would want uneven color? I like the idea of all of this, but the color needs to be easier than a box kit from the store! And the color needs to perform better for an average at home user. Hair color is nothing like last monthsMy roots are black and my ends are fire orange. The whole point of me wanting to go a copper color was so my hair would allover be lighter than previous colorings, so my regroth wouldnt be so obvious. Product review.Was much darker than i expected, Could not notice any gold in the color, just black. Gray coverage was good. I have been adding developer to shampoo every day & washing it to get it a tad lighter. I hope this is not an automatic thing and i am billed even if i do not re-order it. Very disappointed..The packaging was super cute, but that's where it ends. Washing the color kit made my hair sticky with a thick film and NOT washing out. It was a nightmare. It literally took me an hour to wash it out and I had to use dawn dish soap to get it all out. Light brown hair this turned it BLACK!!!So for a bit ,this was a great product ,the past 2 have turned my hair almost jet black yet said light brown . Now can't figure out how to get it back to the right color without a professional job . If you can't get it right empty it and start again. I would expect in the least a credit back for the 2 so I can pay to fix this mess. I may try the other company who said they would never have mixed or labeled it wrong. Not for meI had to dye my roots and my ends with two bottles I am used to using one bottle for everything. The color was too red. I did not get an even color in my hair, I have several light and darker colors. Everytime I wash my hair red dye is still coming out. I am used to dying my hair the color is off, way too red.
