Too darkIt is leaving my hair a darker brown than the red I was wanting. cover grey rootsI have an ombre style hair color... my natural color is medium brown with 40% grey at roots. I color just the roots and then color natural fades to golden color from previous highlights(2 yrs ago). Wrong color! Very Dull...no shine at allI want to give this a good review, but I can't. It's one star for being inexpensive, nice packaging, great instructions, but this was a waste of my time. My hair came out the exact same color...and it was alot of work for no change in color. My hair felt horrible afterward. I used the two bottles sent for the first time, (one for roots & one for the rest of my hair), gloves, conditioner, and followed the instructions to a tee. I sent a picture of my before hair, explained what I wanted. One of the Copper options for dark hair. I'm disappointed. I'm not really wanting to change the color, even though it's nice that eSalon will work with you. My hair just felt horrible afterward and wasn't shiny at all! Cancelled My ColorThis is only my second time using esalon to color my hair and I am now cancelling my auto renewal because my skin really broke out after using the most recent batch they sent me. Not what it soldThis hair product was not at all what I wanted, or expected. It was not easy for one person to use. The color distribution was difficult because the product was much more runny than I'd anticipated. Even with the greatest of care, dye dripped onto the cape, and subsequently ran down until it reached the floor. The color did not look how I wanted when I finished. DisappointingMy hair is naturally dark brown. I ordered a copper hair colour. I spoke to an esalon representative and sent a photo through as requested. The lady recommended opting for brown/copper to ensuere that the colour looks natural and is suitable for my current hair colour (i.e since the hair is dark there is no point hoping for a intense copper). Well... the colour has arrived... and now my hair is completely black! Not even a hue of copper or brown for that matter... I hate it, much prefereed the natural brown look i had before. Not Crazy About ItThe color matched perfectly, it really did . But after applying it, rinsing, using the enclosed shampoo and conditioner ( so many things in the box! 🙂), my hair was limp and lifeless. After a few days, I washed my hair again , hoping that it was, perhaps , the shampoo.... but my hair has remained completely flat and limp. Unfortunately, the color is already leaving the gray areas of my hair. I was really hoping this would be the answer to spending 85.00 every few months to color my hair. Not for me at allI've tried twice with this product. The first time the colour was brassy, so it was adjusted by e-salon. Tried again, very carefully, brushed it on, followed instructions to the letter. It looks patchy as though it's 'taken' in some areas and not others. As for the colour - it looks like cheap drugstore burgandy. See photo. I hate it. Two days later I've checked the colour I ordered as I changed it after the first application which was a bit brassy but a better colour. I asked for the brassiness to be toned down and the colour I ordered was a golden brown. So I'm even more surprised that the colour on my head is so dark and what my Mancunian friends call 'Bus-stop-Burgandy,' that cold almost purply shade that shouts: 'I used a box of cheap colourant!' And no I didn't leave it on too long and I applied it with great care. Grrrr. I am now going to the hairdresser and will have to spend a fortune to fix this disaster. So upset. I was sent a color with the wrong undertoneAfter turning my hair orange and giving me hot roots last month I carefully detailed in a series of emails how I wanted my hair to look the following month. I was sent exactly the undertone I asked not to receive and my color was horribly unflattering. ConfusedThe color came out way to dark.....it covered the roots and in most places it turned out even.....but way darker than the color should have turned out. Didn't coverI ordered the lightest blonde and it didn't even look like I colored my hair at all. I have pastel colored highlights in my hair and the dye didn't cover them they are still the same color. After applying the dye to my hair and good thing I ordered extra shampoo and conditioner because I had to wash my hair 4 times to get all the dye out of my hair. I have very thick hair & I clicked the icon when I was asked what type of hair I have, so that "extra" bottle of shampoo and conditioner was gone after I washed the dye out of my hair. Gray comes back within days.I still end up with slightly colored gray hair. The gray returns in less than a week. I'm having to use more product for longer time and it burns. Way too dark and plain block colourSorry guys won't be using this product again. It's way too dark for me as an older woman, (inspite of specific instruction to avoid washing out my skin tones). Also it's just come out as a plain block colour, no subtleties and no better than my usual brand. I do like the fact that there are no red tones though. Not impressed.My first order was nice... but the color on ends faded in a week. So I gave this another try. Not impressed. It wouldn't let me redo my quiz.... only adjust the color. The colorist seemed to get what I was asking for. But the color what not what I wanted. The tone was close but not close enough. Plus the ends they say only leave on 5 minutes! The last time I did this the color faded in a week! Plus that's just not long enough. I'm not impressed. Color is ok... but I feel like I wasted my time. This is just not what I wanted. Not sure if I would give this a 3 time. It's nice they take the guess work out... just not sure if worth the money. I feel if your unsure of color... may be better to go to a real stylist. like color but ends still an issueI've been disappointed that even thought this color is nice... my ends have yet again continued to fade back into a light reddish orange after this color that was a full color kit has faded. The reddish orange ends has become something that's hard to keep away ever since I started the red mahogany earlier last year. Two different colorsSO i've used eSalon a few different times. When I called after receiving the new color and having the two colors be VERY different I was told it was to help match my roots and my ends because they take color on very different. I followed the instructions and after it was finished and washed 2 times my roots and ends are VERY different colors. I'm not happy with these last shipment at all. I remember the last time I colored my hair it came in one bottle and I used it all over and it worked perfect. Good Product not the right ColorMy hair has significantly lightened since I began using Esalon. It is almost all white and grey now. The color you sent is just too dark. Even after asking a couple of times to have it lighter, it is still too dark. Wasn't what I asked forI wanted red, and requested an adjustment to my color before, to make it more red and less brown. The color was never adjusted to my liking, and as far as I can tell the two shipments after were the exact same color I requested to be fixed. I wanted red and got chestnut instead. Damaged my hairI've colored my hair with L'Oréal Preference for nearly 20 yrs with no issues. I tried eSalon for better gray coverage, which I did get. However, it fried my hair. I wash my hair once a week and only use heat a couple times a month. I have always babied my hair and am terrified at what has happened. Not impressedThe presentation and everything looked nice. But if you don't read the directions you wouldn't know that the 2 bottles you receive are 2 different mixes for your hair. Talk about confusing. Then... after applying the root color I mixed the 2nd bottle and the color was not what I wanted. Terrible Grey CoverageYour color does not cover grey. I actually get better color and grey coverage from a drug store bought kit. I let you replace the color and it only slightly improved. Adding more Ash tones to my color.I believe the only way to get more toward Ash is to make a jump in that direction rather than little bumps in that direction. I don't know where my next shipment will end up colorwise but would like to see much more ash and cream. I love the product though. Not Salon qualityI followed the step by step instructions and just like with store bought hair color, my roots and ends are about 4 shades different. It does not look anything like the color I picked out and the red washed out literally after the first wash (which I waited 3 days to wash for that very worry). Not impressed at all. NOT GOOD ON MY GRAYI loved the finished color as it was so closely matched to my natural color. I'm horribly disappointed with the lackluster life for coverage on my gray. Though i don't have a lot of gray, It is most prominent at my hairline around my temples and forehead. DripsI have very course grey and this product did not cover my roots. I do like the extras in the box eg.2 pairs of gloves,shampoo and conditioner,stain remover. My overall color is medium brown and this particular custom design made my hair too brassy and dry.I am aware that can be altered through trial and error but I do not feel it is worth the time.The overall consistency is very runny and the color dripped down my neck. My hair is BRIGHT ORANGE! So uglyI followed the directions completely. This is NOT dark blonde with "pearl copper". My hair is a hideous bright orange red. It looks NOTHING like the picture on the website. I was expecting dark blonde with some red undertones. Either the colorist screwed up this 'custom color' or it's false advertising. My hair feels like straw and the ends are breaking off. I have to go to a salon now to fix this. I will never buy this again... I've had better color from a box at the drug store compared to this. Plus the smell is horrible. My eye were watering the entire time and I had to open four windows to get the smell out. I'm so angry that I'm going to have to bleach my hair to get this color out. If I knew it would be this orangy red, I never would have bought it. Not meColor was just not right for me. I figured the experts would let me Know it before hand. The product was great except gray Coverage Was not as long as expected. I forgot this was an automatic Ordering system SO I got charged and sent a duplicate order. color doesn't work for me...Sorry to say I cut off my auto shipment and want to cancel my subscription to esalon. The red color fades too fast but this time my color was more glow in the dark pink.
