Custom hair dyeI was so excited to try this product after seeing loads of positive reviews online! I have given this 1 star because 1. The inside packaging was ok 1. You can't give 0 star rating. I actually started choking when opening the small bottle of colour. It smells REALLY strong of chemicals! This product needs to come with a warning for asthmatics!! Secondly, the product is extremely runny so best to wrap a towel around your shoulders AND sit on a whole load of towels!! The products will run down your neck, shoulders and back whilst it's developing too! I had hoped the product would redeem itself once washed out and my hair blow dried buuuuut..........NO! It almost completely washed out of my hair leaving just some patches at the roots slightly tinged a gingery purple!!!! :O it didn't even properly cover my greys except for turning a few of them a proper bright ginger/strawberry blonde!! I would like to point out though that this was MY experience!! In tears at horrendous colorfor years i felt if you wanted red it had to come from a salon. After a year of pushing from my cousin, I tried your sight. I even spent money on shampoo, root color etc. My roots where exact color on my natural color. I was promised a red copper. This looks NOTHING like the promise. I am a dark, UGLY brunette. paid to get exact same color I hadWas supposed to see a change in my hair from my natural hair color and ended up with no result. Exact same hair color as my natural hair color. It's as if I did nothing to my hair..not sure if the colorist gave me a bad color or the colorist should have gone a shade lighter. I asked for Dark Ashe Blonde, no redI colored my hair as directed and now have brown hair with RED high lights. Almost auburn colored hair. I am extremely disappointed and will not order again and not use the extra that was sent. It burned my hair, and it will be a couple months before I can repair this. Waxy textureAlthough, I liked the color, after8 weeks it has a good coverage, but too much red highlights for being dark brown. The reason I am debating on using this again, is because of the waxy sticky texture upon rinsing and rinsing . Also many of reviews that I have read, talk about hair loss. Not good for RedI asked for a very intense red and I got brown with red undertones. It faded within 2 weeks and now I have to deal with brown hair for 8 weeks before I can dye it with better color again. There were too many steps the process took too long. Lovely color not enough coverageI liked the color that was made for me but when the coloring process was completed the goal of covering bad old color and grays did not come to fruition. I contacted esalon and was not given any other feedback or help. I was only told that they would make notes for my next color. Ruined my hair!I have to wear wigs due to a medical condition. I purchased a human hair wig, for $1400.00, and the esalon coloring system as the wig's color was too light. Halfway through the coloring process the solution turned purple! Not only did my new wig turn orange but the texture was ruined. I cannot wear it. Product was a disasterProcess involves two stages. The first stage went fine, though the product was a little runny and tended to drip down my neck and face. The second stage was a disaster. The smell of the product was so intense (ammonia-like, not sure what it was) that I was forced to abort the second stage and rinse my hair and flush my eyes and face for about five minutes. Not sure why. The second stage product was also so runny it slid off my hair and splashed around my bathroom, leaving a huge mess. Completely wrong colorI have long dark brown/black hair . With Grey roots. Explained in initial order that it was quite awhile since I colored my hair. I was very disappointed in the color result. Grey roots are red and the rest of my hair is dull brown. Did not have enough colorant for my thick full hair. Had better results with miss Clairol darkest brown. Too darkLove the concept of having bespoke hair colour delivered regularly. However the colour I received was very dark. I was expecting a warm medium brown but the colour was a dark brown, because the roots were so much darker than my hair I had to work the colour through the rest of my hair. not as good as my 1st oneThis is my 3rd colour, 1st one great, 2nd one didn't cover my grey, this one was better than the 2nd but not as good as the 1st. Love the color, hate the odorThe color turned out beautiful and my hair feels great. I would give it 5 stars for color and feel, But the odor while coloring your hair is almost unbearable. I had my window open and the fan on and I could hardly breathe. It was even worse when you get in the shower to rinse and close the shower curtain. It also stains your skin and the sink and shower. The cloth to clean up with did not take it off either. I guess that's why it covers your hair so well. Will wait to see how well the color stays on my hair before deciding if I'll buy it again. Not sure what to think of service OR colorOK, 1st off this was extremely easy to apply. Thought this was a monthly service. Although, I DID leave a message for my colorist saying I haven't used the product yet. So maybe that's why I never was shipped another bottle, idk. I even left one saying that I did NOT like it.the color I received was quit dark. I do not see how this color I received is the color that was described. I have read this on several other reviews. Color was more a "dark dark brown w/dark red tint" (I do not consider it a dark blonde), AND it did not take well on the roots around my face. I can't decide if I want to continue with the service. On my first order I purchased everything, which can’t believe how small the shampoo & conditioner is or the color enhancing tx. With my long hair these small bottles don’t last 10wks. HorribleThis was the worst product I have used to date (including box color from the store). The 2 separate colors did exactly that, left the top of my head 1 color and the length a different color. I knew it didn't sound right, but stupidly followed the instructions anyway. Nice idea, difficulty getting right color, and 100% color happines guaranteed noI love the concept, but I have tried to get the right color 4 times without success. My natural hair tends to go orange or red when colored and I have wanted to get a natural neutral brown for my roots, to cover some gray areas, and always get a color that shines red or orange in the light. The first replacement was sent without a charge, but I have been charged for orders 3 and 4, and have not yet been successful at reaching the desired color. I have been told by a rep over the phone that I should go to a hair salon because they cannot achieve the color I want. Love the color but ...I love the color that I originally get from this product but it doesn't last long. I'm about 85% grey so it's hard for my hair to retain any color products. After washing my hair a few times it felt better but the colour looks the same as my natural hair colour (I ordered medium copper golden and my hair is light brown) and it is not even slightly redder, it is just duller. Copper results, want dark ash root cover.Tried this product for 18 months. It has easy to follow directions, it doesn't smell terrible, it looks shiny and covers the gray just the way I would like. BUT. It has literally turned my hair red. copper. orange. When the roots grow out...they are not red. Multiple color adjustments and Color Enhancing Treatment did not make much difference. I wake up the next morning to an email saying my order is being processed. Sneaky tactic to just charge someone if they have an order in their cart. Colorist changed my colorI am very disappointed. My root color was correct and used as directed. The color for my roots was not correct and when I asked they just told me I must have not followed the instructions. I read the instructions as I have been for the last 20 years I have been coloring my hair. When I looked at the formula they did for the roots and the ends I see they changed the formula for the ends without even stating it in the instructions. I am very discouraged. I loved the colors they sent prior, they looked natural. I hope my furture orders are correct. This next time I will definitely check the color formulas before I apply them. Strawberry BlondeI was looking forward to using this service. However, I paid for one product the color wasn't what it was expected to be. I was sent a free product and another free product. I sent pictures and was asked to contact them. I did, and was told they couldn't get my color. I'd have to go to a colorist and have it adjusted before they could assist any further. Please cancel orderI like the color but not the process results. While putting it on everything it touches is stained. And for at least two weeks after it stains my hands and nails. color washed out around front of my face and sides after 2nd shampoosorry but I tried your product and it works the same way when I buy in the department store, not your fault. I must have gray hair that cannot hold color! Was just wishing your product would really work for me. Not the right colorAfter receiving my first color, I asked for one that was lighter with more copper. The second color was perfect. But for some reason this last color was the same as the first color! That makes no sense. Nice colorI really do like the color that resulted from using esalon products, however, the application in itself is rather messy and tedious. I did not like having to color my roots first, wait 25 minutes, then put more color on the rest of my hair, leave on for 5 minutes, then put more color on once I'm in the shower. I have long hair, so it was MESSY. Also my hair was extremely dry afterwards. I used the enclosed conditioner and shampoo, which was not even close to being enough for my long hair. Also, I did the pre testing beforehand as stated in the usage booklet, with no issues. However, once I actually colored my entire head, it began to burn horribly when I started to wash it out in the shower. I don't know if a reaction occurred when the color combined with water, but it was awful. Leaves hair greasySecond time using this product and after 3 shampoos in the same day, during washing out color, my hair still felt greasy and nasty. I've followed my instructions and even used my own shampoo after using the kind provided. Love the color, just not the feel after. Really wrong for meColour awful. I have the dark blonde hair (strawberry blondish in the light) and wanted to cover the few greys and make the highlights which had half grown out less noticeable. I asked for my hair to be my natural colour and sent photos. I ended up with ugly medium brown mahogany hair far too dark for my skin tone and blue eyes and no where near my natural colour which they could see from the 5 inch growth on my photos. Awful. CAN NOT RECOMMEND AT THIS TIME.I reviewed my color for you through the order. I expressed that my hair had a strong red hue to it in the "grow out" area after the treatment. I received an email offering corrective product. I agreed to that. Then I received another email which was a duplicate of the original about a week later. I agreed again and stated in the email that this was my second response. I indicated in my original review that my previous stylist had used Volume 30 to lift my color and it still took some time.
