Gray Hair DillemaIt’s not covering my gray that well. The color washed out on the gray hairs after a couple of weeks. I had the same issue the last time. The actual color on my hair is perfect. Silverish BlackHi the product was a bit silverish black and way to dark for me. Its becoming noticeably darker on top when I cover the roots (from gray). I did not notice this the first time using it but now I can. I prefer a dark chocolate brown versus midnight black. I do not care for light brown shades but love dark dark brown. Grey coverage not completeI purchased a light brown ash to redo my light brown natural roots and cover grey. It stripped my hair a little, revealing brassy undertones, which worked against the neutral to ash brown look I was trying to achieve. Wrong colorI don’t know what happened but I colored my hair and it came out really ashy and dull. The box was different if that makes any difference. So far up until now everything has been great. I haven’t done anything to change my hair since I’ve been using you. So I don’t know if it got mixed up with someone else’s or what. Just letting you know so you can review it. Hot headedAfter receiving my remixed colour it took a while to get it done due to medical reasons. Too redI received my first kit and tried it. Too much red. So I let them know and they sent me one for free which was very nice! But the 2nd one was again too red. Beautiful color-- absolutely NO staying powerThis color was the dream-- at first. The shade was perfect, the application was easy, and it came in a timely manner. But after washing my hair only 3 times (with color-care shampoo), the color was mostly washed out. I canceled immediately. Long thick hairI described that I have long thick hair in my initial profile. There was not enough color product to pull color through the ends of my hair to blend for final few minutes of processing. I cancelled my account on Nov. 16th.Why did you charge me and send the shipment I cancelled. Not good. Now I am mad. The color has never been correct. Haircolor decent but Highlights awfulI've used the haircolor twice and it was good enough. I wasn't blown away by it. However, the Highlighting kit sent was ridiculous. First, the manner in which I am supposed to highlight is tedious. No cap or any way to keep highlighter from the rest of your hair. Just separate it in this oddly instructed ,hard to grasp way.And I am an intelligent person that can understand very intricate instructions on a many manner of subjects. Then when all was said and done the color was wrong all wrong.I'll just go back to my tried and true L'Oreal highlighter. Or an even better idea. To help avoid the issue of the hair color being hard to rinse out in the future, we recommend that you bring any leftover hair color in your bottle or bowl, fill it with water and mix it together. Then, after tilting your head back, pour this mixture onto any areas you applied color and deeply massage it for 2-3 minutes prior to rinsing. Excessive shedding since coloringMy hair has been falling out excessively since I’ve colored my hair with eSalon. I don’t dare use the product again for fear of losing all my hair. My hair is soo thin now. Luckily I had really thick hair so it doesn’t look poor. The product colored well. But I can’t ignore the fact that the day after coloring my hair, it started falling out and kept losing more for a month. MIXTURE SEEMED OFFMy last purchase did not seem to take very well. I just colored my hair on 11/22 and it is back to it's brassy, golden color rather than the chocolate brown it should be. The coverage in gray was not as well as previous coloring and I left the color on for 15 minutes longer than I typically do. Dried hair and barely any coverageI followed the instructions to a T, and once I washed it out and conditioned my hair, it was super dry. I got back in to condition it again and thankfully it helped a bit. I learned my coverage wasn't that strong and didn't cover all of my grey like I'm used to. Guaranteed to destroy your hairI cannot begin to describe how painful the chemical burns on my scalp were from this product. I am no rookie to at home or salon hair coloring but this takes the cake for bad hair experiences. I HAD long beautiful hair to the top of the small of my back. I was looking to get close to my natural dark brown and let it grow out as gracefully as I could. My roots are a completely different color than the rest and as I mentioned earlier...my scalp has chemical burns. My hair is destroyed. It was brittle and breaking immediately following using this product. I went to my stylist and begged to have my hair saved. It's now 6 inches shorter. Totally fried ends and damaged the entire way up. Now that my body is healing, I only have damaged hair and a peeling scalp to show for my super discount deal from eSalon. If you like your hair go to a real salon because sometimes the cheaper product is just a cheap product. UPDATE: eSalon emailed an intent to refund my purchase, much appreciated and extraordinarily timely, then replied to my review claiming an allergic reaction. Unfortunately, chemical burns are not the same as an allergic reaction or sensitivity. I'll leave things at that on this particular topic. Disappointing for the first time everI have been using your product for a long time and never had any reason to complain only praise for this amazing product. However my last order seemed to be a little sparse. The bottle shape has altered looks smaller but assuming the amount of product is the same...I did not have enough ...I usually have about a 50p size blob left to put through ends before rinsing off.This time I barely had enough to cover roots. My daughter applies my colour for me and noticed it too. Color didn't hold/coverDidn't have good gray coverage. I don't have a lot but immediately saw the ones I do come through after rinsing color off. After 2nd shampoo there was a lot of color loss. Roots Still Lighter Than EndsI like the custom color and the fact that someone is taking the time to mix it however I've tried this twice now and the roots still end up being lighter than the ends and rest of my hair. My grays start to come in rather quickly; I normally like a darker color to ensure the color takes well. The problem I keep having is that the color appears brassy or too warm up at the roots and it's lighter than the rest of the hair. I love bayalage but this was the reverse--twice. The first time I thought it was me and that perhaps I didn't leave it on long enough or perhaps I didn't choose a dark enough shade. The second time; even after some adjustment from the colorist and additional instructions- it was still brassy and light at the root. I could tell right out of the shower. This occurred even after I extended time leaving it on and pulled through a little bit of color to give it the "pop" per the instructions. Lastly, both times I noted that my hair felt almost plastic-like after rinsing; this was even after I used the conditioner so did not like that at all either as I got the impression it was making my hair brittle. Couldn't Rinse OutHi, I'm not sure if this is the normal result of this product but I tried to follow the instructions. But when it came to rinsing it out, my hair felt waxy and I had a difficult time trying to rinse it out. A waxy substance kept accumulating under my nails and it took a few days and several hair washes for my hair not to feel greasy. Although this is certainly not normal when using our products, our gel color is crafted from highly pigmented professional-grade dyes, which can feel heavy if not thoroughly washed out. Our color can occasionally require a bit more shampooing than other color, but not to worry, this can easily be fixed with another wash. If you still have this feeling, we then suggest using a color-care clarifying shampoo to remove any of the remaining residue from your hair, leaving it feeling fresh and squeaky clean. To help avoid this issue in the future, we recommend that you bring any leftover hair color in your bottle or bowl, fill it with water and mix it together. Then, after tilting your head back, pour this mixture onto any areas you applied color and deeply massage it for 2-3 minutes prior to rinsing. This will seriously help to loosen any residual color and prevent staining on your scalp. |
DamageI don't use hair color that uses anomia in the developer and this had it . My hair some what damaged before I colored with your brand and now it is really bad. So unhappy!I had such high hopes for this product. But instead I was so disappointed. The product left a terrible thick substance in my hair that took 5-6 washings to get out. And trying to cancel is a nightmare. The website keeps directing you to the same place with the same instructions that lead to know where. DisappointedI have been using this hair color program for months now. I just applied my latest hair color 2 weeks ago and already my gray is showing, even considering normal hair growth. Normally it doesnt show for 8 weeks or more. Plus, I think the instructions on this shipment were incorrect, as it stated, after the primary root application and timing, to apply, blend in and leave the leftover color on for only 2 to 3 minutes. Turned orange!I filled out everything, included a photo of my current hair color and even commented that my hair has a tendency to turn orange when going lighter. I chose icey blond and ended up with a lovely reddish orange hair!! A sore bought box for has never done this bad of a job! Completely different colour...I ordered Medium Blonde (Pearl Copper), which the colour chart showed as a light pearly blonde, but the colour I have ended up with is very orange. Bottle 1 of my custom blend, applied to the roots, was made up mostly of medium blonde, with notes of copper, blue violet and just a dash of red - this colour was okay, but still much warmer than expected. Bottle 2, applied to the roots was made mostly of the copper tone, which has given my hair a very contrasting orange in the lengths and tips- which is not what i wanted, especially as in my notes to the colourist I stressed that my hair picks up reds easily. Negatives: The solution itself was very pungent, and stung my eyes and nose immensely which is not something I would normally expect from colours nowadays. The positives: The instructions were clear, the shampoo and conditioner smelt great, the gloves were durable, and despite the strong smell, the solutions didn't sting my scalp. Matted HairMy color is pretty good but a little brassy by the scalp. I have washed my hair a few times now because it's grimey. It like the shampoo/conditioner doesn't want to come out. Poor colour matchUnfortunately my roots are now much lighter than the rest of my hair, I’m going to have to buy a colour remover and recolour! I got more even colour from my box dyes. Brown is not the new blondeLoved the service and packaging. The program is affordable and convient for those on the go. The color was rich and covered the grey very well. However having the roots as brown and rest of my hair blonde was not a good look. So I had to spend about 200% of the cost to have this corrected. Color is great but......The only thing i dont like is that once the color sits for its alloted time it feels like glue and wont rinse out unless you put shampoo in your hair. Do not recommend for light blonde to brown transitionsI have medium-dark brown hair that I recently went to the salon and spent $300 to get a blonde ombre/balayage. I pretty much regretted this choice the minute I walk out of the salon as I do not look good as a blonde and my hair almost immediately turned brassy. Not having another $300 to fix it I started searching the web to find DIY solutions. I doubled down on my blonde and used a box highlighter kit to try and touch up my hair. Another poor life choice. After this I decided I needed to go brown again. After seeing a bunch of good reviews of eSalon I decided to give it a try. Understanding that my hair would be a challenge. I ordered my color which would require a 2 step process to fill in the color lacking and then a demi-permanent dye. I was going for a dark/medium copper/gold brown. I got my box and was overly optimistic that this would fix my hair that I messed up. I followed the instructions and dyed a test strip of hair. This test strip turned 3-4 different shades and looked almost purple/pink. I emailed the company stating I did not feel comfortable dying my entire head this color. I did receive a prompt email back the next morning stating to pretty much stick with the plan and use what they sent me. Needless to say I cancelled any future orders and did not continue with dying my hair. Just OKI could definitely tell while it was on my head that this is more like salon strength hair dye, versus what you buy in a drugstore. The smell was stronger and it was very tingly. I felt like the 2 part process (dye roots, wait 15 min, dye rest of hair, wait 10 min) made it difficult to not accidentally overlap hair color. I ended up with sections near the front that got more dye than others, and as a result the front of my hair is much darker than the rest. I did not care for the shampoo and conditioner. The shampoo sample was small and didn't do a great job of washing out all the dye, and the conditioner sample was way too small. I had to condition my hair a second time with my own conditioner because there just wasn't enough in that little packet. I'm used to the tube of super thick, rich conditioner that you get when you buy a box of hair dye from the store and there's usually at least 4 uses in that one tube. Today (the day after I dyed my hair) my hair feels super dirty and greasy, almost like not all of the dye washed out of my hair, even though I spent a looooong time trying to rinse everything out in the shower. The color payoff is good, it's actually much stronger than I thought it would be, and it's true to the choices that I selected. Made my hair sticky, and un able to style or even brushMy hair is sticky after using esalon dye. There was a paste that was under all my finger nails as I tried to wash out the hair dye. It took an hour to get the hair dye out of my hair and it's not all gone. I'm not sure why this happened. I've dyed my hair at home many many times this has never happens before. Not quite rightThe stuff seems ok. But not enough better than what I usually use to warrant spending the extra money. And I really don't want an auto-ship. The color was not quite right, but I am sure they would adjust it for next time. But it's too expensive. Did not quite cover the roots of my hair, even though you leave it on the roots for 15 minutes before adding to the ends. It was okI thought the color I picked would have more auburn tones and lighten my hair more. It wasn’t a huge change from my natural color other than coloring my grays, which it didn’t cover all. The color rinsed out over the next several washes even though I followed directions as stated. DisappointingAmazing customer service and the packaging the dye comes in is great and included lots of additional things for your $$ (gloves, shampoo, etc.), and I didn't find the dye to be at all damaging or hard on my hair, but the shipping takes like a month and my hair didn't even take to the dye, it didn't do anything - I've been using Demi permanent for years to dye my dark blonde hair to dark brown and this is the first time it actually did not even dye my roots (I even left it in a few min longer than they suggested). Not the colour I wantedI wanted a golden and was sent brown. To top it off nothing was explained and I've just been sent more colour. So unknown to me is signed up to be send colour every 8weeks. Terrible color, way too darkI've heard a lot of great things about esalon, so I decided to try it for myself. I loved the ordering process and how smoothly everything went, however I chose the color medium brown golden copper for my already medium brown hair, and my hair is now DARK brown and has nothing even close to a golden copper hue. It looks terrible. At this point, I don't even know what to do with my hair. Hated itI have been dying my hair with boxed die from walmart for years!! I thought i would give this a try and it may be a little better for my hair. I was wrong!! My hair felt like i couldnt get the die out, it was so gressy and unbrushable. I thought well maybe it was a bad box and ill try it again. I did it the night before a wedding i was going to, lets j say i couldnt brush my hair or stlye it for days later because it made my hair so greasy! I hated it!! ColorThe color covers the gray nicely. I wish that the color was thicker and not so runny. That would make self application easier and less messy. There needs to be more conditioner included with purchase. I condition my hair twice, once with your product and once with mine. Absolutely RidiculousI ordered my first trial of this company and was so excited to try it. My first try at dying my hair came out awful. This color was WAY darker than what I asked for and looked nothing like the preview on the website. I followed the directions exactly and this formula dyed all of my roots and only SPOTS on the rest of my hair! I contacted the company and asked to go much lighter for my next color which they say they can't do, they can only go a bit lighter. I said ok to that only to find out that they will only be shipping enough of the adjusted color to color only my roots! Its like they didn't even listen to the problem. So they adjusted my color but I guess they expect me to walk around with splotches of color on the rest of my head? What an ordeal. I cant even wear my hair down because it looks so bad. I really didn't want to write a bad review, I was hoping they would fix the problem the first time but it doesn't look like it. I've emailed the company YET AGAIN and am waiting for a response. I'll update my review after I hear back from them and let everyone know if they have fixed this problem. Overall I have to say I'm just really disappointed in this company. I really wanted it to work out. *** UPDATE *** I received a bottle to color my hair all one color. It was still way too dark but it did fade after a while and I will be trying a lighter color for my next coloring. Customer service was nice when they helped me I was just disapointed that I ended up having to have such dark hair. Not that greatI tried it after seeing the ad, the color I got was not right I figured I wasn't getting anymore so I thought, a few mths later i got another box I used it and cancelled the account ,then I get a notice there going to send it again I told them I didn't want it and had cancelled my account, I was just looking at ad's on my phone and eSalon. Was there so I checked to see if my account was still active and it said my next shipment is coming in January. How do I stop this? Love the condition of my hair but colour leaves a lot to be desiredMy hair has never looked as glossy and healthy after dying it which is amazing but the dye hasn't covered my old hair colour aswell as I'd hoped. The colour is lovely and the instructions were so detailed and simple. Good idea but....When I colored my hair I followed the directions to a T! However, my hair is now a weird brassy brownish orange color on the roots, and dark brown on the ends. It really doesn’t look great. Before my hair was one tone so there wasn’t much of a variety of color for the dye to latch onto into different ways. I gave it a few weeks to see if it would wash out and blend together and it hasn’t. Also, I ordered a medium brown and it was nothing like the picture on the model. Maybe you could use different models with a choice of skin tone so we can have a better idea of how the color would look on our skin tone?
