This experience was not goodI’ve colored my hair many times with esalon and loved it but for some reason this time has been the color from hell. My hair feels like a grease monkey that’s so sticky. I’ve washed my hair twice, once in the shower and after trying to blow dry the heavy mess, I washed it again in the sink. I wait for the water to run clear before putting condition in and why it feels like this, idk. I’ve never used the end shine color before that was given as a bonus, not sure if that’s the culprit!?! All I know is, I’m flying to Oregon tomorrow for my sons college graduation and my hair looks just awful!!! Not a happy camper right now. Too orangeHello, I claerly specified in my original order that I needed to stay away from orangish shines I too frequently get from hair colors. And the shade you prepared was no exception, it was faaaar too orange for my complexion. The Worst At Home ColorThis was my second time "trying" your at-home coloring, and it turned out absolutely horrible!!! The color came out way too dark, and left this horrendous sticky/waxy residue on my hair that took forever to come off. This is not what I paid 18 dollars for! I am demanding my money back!!! Sticky hairI really liked this color it was easy to apply but when it came to finding out the color it made my hair look and feel sticky and waxy. I've never used a hair color that made my hair feel this way. It took multiple washings to get the coating off my hair. Color was way too darkThe color was too dark and I would have to buy more product to get the color I wanted. I was told without buying that product I can't go lighter. I had my hair lightened by a professional and he said this is not true. Not the experience I’d hoped for.I was sent a preview of my color shortly after ordering and it was. NOT what I hoped for and I immediately reached out to try and change it. The first response I got was simply suggesting I do a strand test. No offer to halt production and discuss my concerns or even compassion for my situation considering this is my HAIR and not a pair of shoes. By the time customer service responded to my second request for help, the box had already been shipped. I was (and still am) frustrated because other reviews talked about how personal the process was, but it didn’t work that way for me. I tried the strand test but the color didn’t take, so I went for the full application. I had two bottles- 1 roots, 1 ends. What I wanted was to match my current deep red color (which I was VERY clear about and added a photo as suggested). What I ended up with was a muddy brown with limited gray coverage. I hope other people have a better experience than I did. Dreadful experienceIf I could give 0 stars, I would have. After all the advertisements I expecting a fantastic color. Didn't listen to my feedbackI let my colorist know that my gray wasn't being covered well to blend with the rest of my hair. Great Gray CoverageThis is the best gray coverage I have every seen. However, while the color looks great for about 2 weeks, week 3 it lifts to an ugly redish brown. My roots are the exact color that has been mixed for me, and I don't need to color every 3-4 weeks. The lift, or wash out, of color is just as bad as other store bought color. Kit is poorly put togetherI usually have no problems with my eSalon kits. This time, it was obviously not quality checked. There were two conditioners instead of shampoo and the lid of the color container is so tight I cannot get it off. I spent 10 minutes trying to unscrew it and finally gave up. No real colorist. just hypeDidn't review my photos or adjust my order...long story. Rip off. Now I spent $200 bucks on salon. And, yes, I did a strand test. But, my porous hair (in my original comments--) sucked it down in different places. There was ash in the color--I said I wanted to avoid ash...Green, black, dry and brittle hair. Get a box color. Difficult for vibrant red headsThe color you sent me is too blonde again. I don’t want blonde/orange roots - I just want the root color to look more like the vibrant red you sent me for my ends in my very first box. Also I have WAY too much hair for 1 bottle. The refresh bottle that I receive each month says it should refresh my roots and my ends, that’s a joke. The color on my ends fades so fast that getting one bottle every 4 weeks for just the roots is just not going to work for me. It was pretty goodIt is a little too light. Just a little. Otherwise it was easy to apply. Doesn't seem to be holding up as well as my salon colors do as the gray is showing through after just three weeks vs the five I generally get (due to hair growth). Bottle leakThis is the first time that there was a leak on the develop bottle and not working properly when I tried to use it and lost some cream/liquid already so didn’t have enough for my hair. Not amused.The hair color itself was mulifaceted and had a lot of depth and dimension. I didn't need the subscription to send me color so I cancelled it. I forgot to remove the card completely and sure enough they still charged my card $25.95. When I emailed them they promptly notified me that my money would be refunded. However, that was not the case. It has been nearly a week and the charge is still there...?!? Not to mention no actual human will answer when you call customer service. Waxy mess!This was my second time using this product. The first time I had no issues but the color did not color my gray areas enough so I decided on giving it a second shot when my next shipment came in. Following directions step by step, I noticed that when I went to rinse my hair, it felt like a clump of wax! I had to wash my hair 4 times to finally get my hair back to normal. Dries out your hairAfter 6 months of using, my hair has become very dry and brittle and at times impossible to rinse out. Less than underwhelmed......by the whole experience really. I had high hopes considering some of the other reviews. I'm 40 years old and have been colouring my grey hair for the past 20 years. Sometimes I do it myself and sometimes I go to the salon. The point is I'd say I'm a dab hand at getting the job done myself. The packaging is cute, but let's face it, you aren't going to be keeping that for too long. I followed the instructions to the letter. The process was SO messy. My vintage enamel bath tub now needs refinishing as it is so badly stained by the hair dye... that has never happened before when I have coloured my hair. My husband is furious to say the least! I'm now slightly irritated by the fact that my next package is on its way, without so much as a 'Hi, how did you get on' from my 'personal esalon stylist' following my trial. I won't be using the dye when it arrives which is a shame as it's a waste of money. Also there is no clear way or customer service contact to end my 'subscription'. Despite the claims, customer service does not appear to be high on the agenda here. All I can say is using Esalon has made me realise that going to the hairdresser to have your colour done is worth every penny. didn't work outMy natural color is a dark medium blond. Store box color blond turned it brassy light orange (it would be golden at best). I asked esalon for a color that would turn it light Ash blond. I followed instructions to a t. It turned out slightly darker (and a bit on the red side) of my natural color. Not what I wanted. Messed upI was going to cancel my subscription due to grey coverage not working well the past 6 months or so. Esalon offered to give me a free hair color to see if they could correct the problem. I trusted that my color would remain the same as it always has been, but instead of the semi-permanent , they'd simply be switching me to a permanent colorant.... But now my hair is even more messed up! First of all, the perminant dye smells horribly toxic and strong (like eyes almost bleeding, and I don't feel that's an exaggeration, I could hardly breath and had to close my eyes when ever I could during the process) Secondly, they changed my hair color to light brown instead of medium brown and it lightened my roots to an orange color! Color is Great, but hard to rinse outI love the color, it covers the gray well after my new instructions had me leave on longer. I’m doing roots only & works great with my existing color (from salon). The only downfall is that when it’s time to rinse out, the product gets very gummy and I have a very hard time getting it out (worse this time than previously). I rinsed for 5 minutes, gave up and added shampoo. Rinsed, conditioned & towel dried; only to discover weird gummy feeling still in my hair! Got more shampoo & tried again. Color irreversibly wrong and would not refundI ordered a color that was lighter than my natural hair. The colorist suggested a different shade that ended up being darker than my hair. Never get the same color twiceWhen I first started the color was really nice and gradually kept getting darker. I sent pictures and emails and by the 3 rd time decided if they can't mix the right ingredients together to produce the first results its not worth it. Also your hair really does dry out, the products are very disappointing for the price, better to go to the salon and get what you pay for! Wrong colorThe color was darker than my natural hair color and darker than I had wanted to go. When they suggested the personalized color, I thought it might be too dark but I went along with it as I had never used the product before and didn't what my color was. It did cover all my whites but I don't like how dark my hair is now. I don't know how to go lighter after going darker than what I am naturally. Residue left over after coloringHello. I tried these products four different times in hopes that the residue that is left over would not be in the next mixture. Sadly to say that I just colored my hair two weeks ago and it took three washing for the strange residue to be out of my hair and my GREY HAIR came back after three washings. I am done. Didn't lastMaybe my hair is growing too fast, but it seems like the grey came back after 2 weeks. Now, it's bad. I wash my hair every other day, with color safe product. For this next order, instead of a demi, can I get it in permanent? Also, I need to lighten up my hair, it's been died very dark brown, almost black with semi permanent from the store a few months ago. I see that the golden brown I'm getting from you is taking, but still see a huge split in between the 2. I never Have any luck .. and I tried this timeDid not change delivery date but somehow it got changed , and I got something I didn’t like the first time .. I canceled my order , can’t have your company sending me stuff when ever they want .. still don’t have the color right .. I’ll just go back to the hair store , stinks cause I got charged 2 on the early for I color I didn’t like or would use . The Developer was not sealed correctly and leaked all over my box w/accessoriesThis is my first box of the new design/product and the developer was not sealed properly. The seal while intact, the screw top was not and leaked all over my stuff. The box was a soggy mess and developer was everywhere. Not to mention I lost half of my developer. I normally rave about you guys but so far with the new product/design, very unhappy. And I requested twice before that my color be changed and I was sent the wrong color. You used to have great customer service and call anytime I had a color change (which has been maybe 3 times in 4 years) I've sent 2 messages and heard nothing. Need to fix the waxy residue!I have washed and scrubbed my hair SEVEN times since coloring it yesterday, I am unable to remove the wax residue on my hair. This should not be the case. New to esalonI just tried esalon for the first time. The first shipment did not arrive after a few weeks so I called and a new order was sent out right away. I have mixed feelings. First the pros. My hair is nice and soft and looks natural. The colour turned out different at the roots than the ends. I was hoping to achieve more of a blend but this didn't happen. My biggest concern was the product fumes were so strong that I had a reaction with my eyes. It didn't irritate my scalp, but I could hardly open my eyes. They were burning and tearing throughout the process and I had a headache the remainder of the day. This was disappointing as the product leaves your hair with lots of shine. Not sure if I will reorder due to the intense fumes and colour issue. Didn't likeColor is way too red. Not even a dark mahogany! Not even close. I stressed the love of a dark rich color. Didn't get it. I have hot roots. Very unhappy with color. Ok, so I received a new adjusted color. Now its way too brown. More mahogany is needed. At least my roots aren't a hot red! See 2 new photos. One shows hot red roots the 2nd dark brown hair. Instructions are wrong and confusingI keep receiving instructions to do a root color and I don’t need a root color . My gray is not shown at the roots but in peices all in my hair so I need a full color instructions . And I want to color my hair black .
