Did not Like the color. When I submitted for correction, continues to get same.I only used the very first color set, no follow up as to whether or not I was satisfied with the color with confirmation before being billed and autoshipped proceeding deliveries. When I was able to log back in, I was hoping for a color correction as promised; I now have 3 boxes of color product I will never use because there was never an updated color sent as requested. Please remove me from future billings and shipments. Color too dark!Between my last set and this one, I requested that the color make up be changed. I received an email stating that the next one would be the new percentages. Unfortunately, I did not realize that this most recent set was still the old combo. Not the color shown in the sample photo.I love the idea of Esalon, but unfortunately the color of my hair now looks nothing like the sample photo. I chose the Natural Ash wanting to get rid of the brassiness. Now my whole head of hair is a brassy copper, not natural ash. I did buy the tint rinse and have used it. Medium brown came out really darkWas so excited to try this colour I was so careful to ensure to select the correct colour. My hair already was a medium brown with copper in it and I wanted an all over brown just. This colour came out almost black. Now I'm washing constantly trying to get it to fade with no luck so far. Got me started on quality hair dyes at homeThis was the company that introduced me to home hair dyes and for this I'm a forever fan. However, the reason for three stars is my color never turns out how I intend and they could improve customer services, I never feel like I know what's going on when I send in a request. Dark Blonde- First OrderMy order shipped quickly and was easy to apply. I received the color that I ordered; however, the result was too dark. I ordered the dark blonde, but my results look more like the dark blonde ash. My hair no longer matches my complexion, and I like to look as natural as possible. I realize there exists an element of trial and error to coloring your own hair. However, before ordering, I did upload a photo with notes, hoping to get some guidance. If I were to reorder a different shade, I would want to consult with someone first. Horrible change in the productHi—please cancel my subscription. You changed the product and split it into separate steps for roots and ends, which (1) turned a chore I hate into a chore I loathe, (2) now generates double the wasteful plastic bottles, and (3) ruined a great product and made it one that doesn’t work at all...if possible, I think I had more grays after the process. Hair colorI bought the suggested color which is a dark auburn based on what used to be my natural color. I enjoyed the packaging and personalized instruction but the color was off. Quality is goneI loved your products when I started with you, but each thing you have changed over the years has been in the wrong direction. The shampoo is no good the condition is worse. I was willing to go with gloves that were terrible but the product change you made on the color is the last straw. The product would not come out of the bottle and I had to shake it out in my all white bathroom. It was so thick and the bottle was so poor that I could get it out. Yes I did cut the tip off. For one year it was great, then for the last two orders not so muchIn the beginning it was great. A year later, two orders with problems and no offer to fix the issue. Not a successColor itself was okay, there was one color given to use on both roots and ends so the result seemed flat without the natural variation of lighter ends. Entire purpose of coloring hair was to cover grays, the were not covered at all and seem to stand out more against the flat coloring of surrounding hair. Order never deliveredI can’t comment on my color because it hasn’t arrived. It shipped on Dec 30 and is still in the US. Tracking shows it hasn’t moved in ten days. Once it arrives in Canada, Customs will add another ten days before it’s released. I understand shipping is delayed near the holidays, but this could take a month. My roots are already overdue. This order was free because my first order turned my hair brassy red. That’s nice, but doesn’t help me if I don’t have it. Can't tell a differenceI was pretty excited to get more of a violet tone to my hair, so I was extremely eager to try out the custom color for the violet tone (dark brown (intense pearl)). After following the process meticulously, I didn't notice a difference in color or tone whatsoever. I'm a little bummed. It looks exactly as my natural color that I started out with. I would have thought if nothing else it would have dyed my hair a little darker, but to no avail. Gray hair at templesI leave the color on temple area first and longer than the rest of my hair. My hair color is the correct one,however, I have distinct lighter areas around the temple. This does not blend. When I go for a pro color the gray is always covered and they do not even bother to leave the color on longer around the temples. Nicht die Farbe, die ich wollte...Ich hatte mir Mittelbraun Asch als Farbe bestellt, weil ich den Haselnuss-Stich eines "Haartönungs-Unfalls" wieder beheben wollte, der Ansatz war dunkelblond mit weißen Strähnchen nachgewachsen. Nach der (sehr intensiv riechenden) Färbung war dann leider der Ansatz haselnuss-stichig, dafür hatte der Rest einen schönen Aschton... mein Problem hatte sich also auf die 4 cm Ansatz verschoben. Horrible, fo not recommendDried my hair out. Made my hair feelike straw. Hair still felt like straw even after deep conditioning. Color didn't even last 10 days. Did not cover gray wellFirst time using this product. I was very meticulous in following the instruction as my gray overgrowth is driving me crazy. For some unknown readin my left side gray was not covered well! So disappointing! I wanted to make sure it got civered that i did not even use the color guard sent. Not great for covering graysI am so disappointed! I followed all the steps in ordering and directions in coloring to a T, but unfortunately my greys aren’t covered and the color didn’t adhere to my hair well AT ALL. It literally didn’t match any of my original hair or old color so it just added a new color to the mix. I don’t want a redo. No change despite wanting to go visibility lighterI selected a colour that was several shades lighter than my hair. The colourist called me and said the shade I picked was too light and she will mix me a golden brown shade. My off black hair isn’t a lighter golden brown at all. I can't get past the strong odorI'm 52 and have been coloring my hair for many years. This is the first time since the 80s that I used a product with such overwhelming fumes. Awful experience!I'll admit up front that I have absolutely no talent for coloring hair and haven't done it myself in over 25 yrs. Prior to that I used to use a box dye from the drugstore. It wasn't great, but it never turned out as awful as the eSalon color did. I specifically requested an ash color with NO warm tones. What I ended up with was a horrible red-brown that turned an equally ugly lighter orange color as I washed it daily over the next 2 weeks. At that point I gave up and made an appt with my hairstylist. It took 5 hours for her to get *most* of the red/orange tones out. She's been doing my hair for almost 15 yrs and knows that I always want my hair to be very ashy/cool, regardless of whether I'm blonde or brunette. Wrong color againMy hair feels healthy and has shine! But once again they got the color wrong. I wanted medium brown, specified not golden and went from a natural, ashy light brown to COPPPER!!!! They sent another set in an effort to correct it. Started off great! Still had red tones but definitely more brown. It's been a few weeks now and I'm slowly going back to this awful copper they turned it. Super disappointed in that and that the color fades so quickly. Definitely do not recommend for gray hairs. Color barely changedI have the darkest brown hair and wanted to make my hair color lighter to the medium brown. Unfortunately, after the following the instructions exactly as is, my hair color barely changed. It is only very slightly lighter than my original color and you can only see it in the light. People don't even know I dyed my hair. I am quite disappointed with the color result. boxed dye redI am canceling my subscription. I was very worried about dying my own hair so I made sure to follow the instructions TO THE LETTER. I ended up with nothing better than boxed dye red hair. Everytime the light hit my hair I had deep red roots just like I was back dying my hair in high school from drug store boxed dyes. New Manufacturer of E-salon color is Horrible!.Unfortunately the new manufacturing process of Esalon color is no longer the same, my October 2020 order for Demi-Permanent color was not the same color, nor smell (much stronger chemical), texture very different (thicker so thick it barely covered my roots for touch up correctly on my longer hair), product changed my color and it had more chemicals in it which does not do well on fine hair and it dried my hair follicle so bad it was frizzy/nappy. My mom is a retired cosmetologist and still knows about the beauty industry and she noticed it right away when she was applying to my hair. It was so dry n frizzy we did a deep moisturizing treatment 3 days after color to calm the hair follicle. I don't know why they decided to change manufacture but its horrible and the company needs to go back to the orginal manufacturer because this is a wonderful company n concept! I'd rather go to the salon!I ordered a dark copper color to cover my grey, my highlights and be somewhat of a decent match to same level of darkness as my natural hair color. My order was changed because the personal colorist thought it would be too dark for me. They sent me the light copper which, unfortunately, did not cover my highlights and is far more brown than my natural color. Washed out very quickThe colour was beautiful when it first went on, couldn't get it to rinse clear but not surprised as it was a red colour. After 1 wash my ends were pink and very faded, not sure if the end colour was a semi permanent instead or a permanent but it didn't last long. Strong chemical smell and not enough coverageI normally use another company but thought I’d try e-salon. My initial thought was great shipping Speed and good value. overall I am not satisfied with product. I had to run the fan in my bathroom and have the window open (freeze along the way since it’s winter and cold). I almost couldn’t finish applying color because my eyes burned sooo bad! The fumes were horrible and you would have thought I was applying it to my eyes! After all that, my color didn’t even match even though all I wanted was a dark brown. It’s more of a reddish brown so 1. You can see difference in roots and my normal color. 2. It did not cover my gray roots like other product have. 3. Not what I expectedI am very disappointed in my color. I ordered a dark "blonde" and what I got was an Auburn brown. When I colored my hair I wanted to cry from the results. Still grayUpdate: I am now leaving it on for much longer and it is working better. It still doesn't cover as great as I would like, but it doesn't wash out as fast as store brands. Dangerous!Do not use this if you have even mild sensitivities to ammonia. I've used many ammonia color products but this about knocked me out from the smell. About 6 hours after I colored my hair (and washed it out) my scalp was ON FIRE! I'm lucky I still have hair. The two-bottle system DID NOT work for me. I now have two tones of hair. Top and bottom. Photo is deceivingWith all the questions answered correctly, the exact color didn’t reflect on my hair unfortunately. I could’ve got the same results with box dye and saved some money. I don’t recommendThis was way too complicated a process that took more than double the time of my regular hair color routine, and my roots and ends came out different colors! The kit should include at least two more sets of gloves for how often you have to stop, set a timer, and then keep going. Very disappointed. Going back to my tried and true brand. Not "Custom Made"I wasn't happy at all with my recent hair color that i received. It was not the shade that I ordered and now I have red hair. I had originally ordered the light brown hair color which is also close to my natural hair color. I received the blonde color which defeated the purpose of why I was dying my hair since I was wanting to get rid of the blonde or at least cover it up. I don't understand the reasoning behind changing my chosen shade when it wasn't several shades away from where I was currently. I now have red hair which I really don't think would have been the end result if I had just received what I ordered in the first place. It also seemed like I had specified that i had gray in my hair which I have none and i specified that I did not have any as well. The hair color choice has no reasoning behind it and I definitely don't feel that it was anything close to "custom made" for me even though I answered all the questions correctly and truthfully.
