HR Generalist

To support our growing business, eSalon is seeking a commonsense HR Generalist to work closely with the of VP Human Resources to provide support in the following functional areas: recruitment, benefits administration, leaves of absence, workers comp. training, on-boarding, policy implementation, employment law compliance, record keeping, and administration. This is an individual contributor who will ideally have experience within a manufacturing environment experience working with both non-exempt and exempt employee populations.

Responsibilities

Manage leaves of absence, reasonable accommodation, and workers comp.
Provide guidance and support at all employees with policy interpretation and implementation, benefits questions, etc.
Provide administrative support to VP HR, including but not limited to proper documentation and records maintenance, drafting new employee paperwork, onboarding, etc.
Assist in talent acquisition and recruitment processes by drafting job descriptions, posting, and monitoring open requisitions.
Manage and conduct the new hire orientation and exit interview process.
Work with benefits broker to administer benefits including conducting open enrollment. Drive wellness program initiatives.
Escalate employee relations issues as necessary.
Coordinate training on new and existing programs, e.g. workplace harassment, performance management, management development training, etc.
Assist with and / or investigate employee complaints, disputes and accidents. Escalate as necessary.
Work with the Office Team to run culture initiatives and team-building.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

3+ years of heavy human resources administration including administering workers comp. claims and leaves of absence with proper application of all other state and federal leave laws.
Experience working with non-exempt and exempt employee populations.
Solid understanding and implementation of employment regulations and laws including but not limited to FLSA, CFRA, FMLA, PFL, PDL, ADA, etc.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, resourceful, and flexible.
Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work autonomously and in a team.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Self-starter with a strong sense of urgency, prioritization, and follow-through.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Full proficiency with Microsoft Suite, Gmail and Google Docs.
SHRM-CP/SCP and/or SPHR/PHR Certification are a plus.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
