Color didnt match with my natural dark brown color and grays are not coveredI have a dark brown hair with few grays which is the reason i dye my roots mostly without full coverage. The amount of the product included in the set is more than i needed and i put everything in the color bottle into developer i had to use it all at once. I should have combined the color and developer outside of the developer’s bottle. But then i had select roots coverage only so I thought the amount would be customized for that too. I could definitely used it two times then could have been well worth assuming it actually worked. I ended up having a red hue in the roots and where i used rest of it randomly in my hair i have now dark red highlights without any coverage in grays. I added a note and pictures for my second order as I still want to give it a try and if it works better this time i will update my review and continue my subscription. Otherwise i will have to cancel it. Also i added the new root concealer like a powder one with my order which is completely useless for $18. It doesnt stick on the hair itself but the scalp only. I end up having a big dark mark in my scalp while grays are visible and looks so obvious. System doesnt allow me to submit a review for that item.. but wanted to mention about that here as i had high expectations based on its price. Overall the box the set comes in very appealing made me feel very special and the root concealer comes in a high end durable container with a mirror but both items in my order didnt meet with my expectations. If it worked i wouldnt care about its high end price too but if i will end up wasting my time and money without satisfying results then no reason for me to stay as the customer. Great coverage for grayI was hesitant at first, but was tired if spending $100+ for highlights and lowlights and still not great coverage for gray. First time I wasn’t sure how well I would apply. Custom Color SetUntil I retired I had my hair colored and highlighted at the salon. Once I retired I had a hard time justifying spending all that money. I also found I needed to have it done more frequently as the older I got the faster the grays were showing. I tried drug store color and for whatever reason whichever brand and whatever shade of blond (my natural color) i tried, within a week or two I always ended up with the same unfortunate shade of brassy reddish orange yuck. I was desperate when I read about eSalon. I was happy with my first custom color set. A definite improvement but still some of the dreadful brassy color. On the off chance it was avoidable I mentioned it to the colorist. Never again have I had to look at brassy reddish hair with disgust. My hair was blond again. I thought why not try a light set since my natural color is a darkish blond and I always enjoyed the highlights from the salon. I was a little nervous since I thought highlights were normally done by experts. The directions were very clear and the process was not complicated at all. I think my hair looks every bit as good as when I was paying hundreds of dollars for my color. I couldn’t be happier. So thank you to the wonderful colorist who banished the brass and to eSalon for allowing me an affordable way to maintain my retirement budget and love my hair at the same time. 0 of 0 people found this review helpful.
