Best hair colour I have tried13 March 2016: love my new hair colour. I got my first gray hair at the tender age of 19! So I started colouring my hair in my twenties. Believe me, in the last 18 years I have tried a lot of different products, companies and colours. This is the best I have tried yet! Over the just over a year that I have been using esalon, I started with one colour, but after a few months I felt that it was a little brassy, so wrote and explained this, and the stylist read it, looked at my photos and changed the colour slightly, changed the written instructions slightly and then it was perfect! I feel sure that as my hair, unfortunately, changes more and more to gray/white and as my skin tone changes with it, I can continue to find the right colour that suits me with the help from esalon. It's a bit on the expensive side, compared to supermarket hair dye, but compared to a hair salon, it's a rather good price! UPDATE: December 2021: I have now used e-salon for close to 7 years! With all my grey hair it is getting more and more difficult to do my hair in the back (I have thick hair!) and I sometimes have to ask my husband to help me, but I still manage to colour my hair by myself most of the time and for a lot less that if I asked my hairdresser to do it. So to look at it that way e-salon has saved me a lot of money over the almost 7 years and kept me looking great. The thing I love the most is that it is not a "flat" colour, but it keeps the natural high-lights (or in my case the greys...My own "naturally grown" high-lights) and give a natural looking nuanced colour. Many people are surprised when they find out that I colour my hair (I mean...I just turned 50, so...???) because it does not look flat as box colour normally do and some costly hairdresser colours too. It looks natural!!! Update November 2024: next month I have 10 years anniversary with eSalon! That should tell you all there is to tell, right? Love the colorI was nervous at first about getting the correct color. I talked to a colorist and felt much better about it. I used it yesterday and the color is rich and my hair is shiny and soft. I recently moved from California to Maryland. I used to pay my stylist $85 for color and cut. Here everything is separate. Cut is $79. With hair color it’s over $200 and the larger the amount the larger the tip too. The person who washes your hair also gets a small tip. ESalon is saving me a lot of money. My hair is orange like a clownI've been a redhead my whole life. Their color made my hair turn blonde, so I wanted to cancel, so they asked if they could send me a free color. I just used the free one, after bing charged for yet another, and I look like a clown, I specified natural light auburn. I look like Ronald McDonald. I'm livid. The color was also full of ammonia. Disappointing grey coverageThe set is nicely packaged, and the hair colour goes on easily enough, but this is my second attempt with eSalon to find a colour that will provide adequate grey coverage, and the colour is still leaving my roots with too much red.
