Best "box" hair dye you can get.I've been using box hair dye off and on since high school, and that's all I knew. Fast forward 20 years later, I noticed the texture of my hair change as I sadly aged, and it increasing got drier and drier by the year. When I started to dye my hair again, my hair was no where near as resilient and started to more brittle. I wasn't willing to spend the $120 that my salon charges, so I decided to give eSalon a try to see if a "premium" at home dye was worth it. It came in a nice box, easy instructions, and being the pro that I am with box dyes, it was very easy to apply. The 1st box, they sent me 2 bottles of dye, which was more than enough to saturate my hair (just past my bra line). The following boxes they only send you 1 dye to redo your roots, which works fine since you aren't doing an all over hair color. Results: beautiful, saturated color that lasts, texture of your hair is softer, doesn't dry out as much as other dyes. Conditioner that comes with it creates this waxy residue on your hair for days (they said they are working on reformulation), so I usually finish it off my with color treated hair mask. Conclusion: I also tried Madison Reed and hoped to really like that one as well, but the results didn't come nearly as close to eSalon. MR color didn't last as long, and did not leave my hair as soft as it did with eSalon. Yes, it is more than 2x the cost of CVS hair dyes, but as hair ages, it is worth the extra to keep it looking shiny and healthy. 0 of 0 people found this review helpful. Did you? |

Did not cover greyI only have a few grey hairs but they are in my part line and at my temples. Maybe 5-8 on top and 3-4 at temples. My main reason for coloring my hair is to cover these. Not enough dye to cover the amount of hair and it washed out within 2 weeksTheir products are great and easy to use!! However for me I have extra thick hair!!! So they haven't sent enough color to cover the amount of hair I have. The dye also washed out within a few weeks of the color date.
