Excellent service but colour hard to wash outI can't rate the customer service highly enough. I spent 35 mins on phone talking through my hair colour history and problems. They really listened to what I wanted. But I found the newer formula hard to wash out (I'd used this 3 years ago something has changed) I massaged colour at scalp before rinsing as per instructions but still had a waxy sticky residue on ends. I also found the smell of ammonia very strong. This could be because I've been using ammonia free colour previously. I was pleased with the colour initially but on my roots (brown with 10 percent grey at most) lifted and faded alot lighter after couple of weeks. Despite using a colour safe shampoo. Obviously all colour fades but this was a few shades lighter with grey looking like it just had a colour wash effect peaking through. I'm not sure if this is my hair as I've had trouble getting any colour to take on my regrowth , even salon colour due to perhaps HRT medication. 0 of 0 people found this review helpful. Did you? |

Light Gold BlondI tried eSalon because I wanted to see if the color would last longer than what I buy at the store and do myself. My goal was to stick to my regular hair color. What I ended up with was a dark beige color. It turned out darker than I have ever been. I didn't like the dry, spongy-feel of my hair that happened with this product. I had to use tons of conditioning spray to get the tangles out. The "good" news is; this color is going no-where. I have even been using harsher shampoos to try rinse it out. eSalon was fun to try even if my experience wasn't 100% great. I think it would be good for people with dark hair because, like I mentioned, the color has great staying power. Just ok. Color was not what I was hoping.I've tried drug store boxed red hair dyes before, and never liked how they always seemed too pink-toned and unnatural-looking. I guess red is just challenging! Because I found my color to be not much better than those. I asked for a coppery red with no pink tones for my dark reddish-blonde hair, and I got a dark auburn-type red, with some pink. The company offered to make a new formulation for me, but I don't think it's likely to work out. I think the coppery red of my dreams can really only happen if I'm willing to spend $100/month for salon color. I also thought the customer service could have been better. I was given the impression before buying that someone will contact you for a consult about your color order if you have questions. I received no contact, and when I emailed about it, got a snooty reply back. Horrible serviceI changed my formulation, spoke through email with a colorist and even submitted pics of what I wanted. They confirmed my colors would be changed. It came as the same color as was previously received. When I complained they offered to refomulate it for next time and wanted me to send pics again and go through the whole process again. Mean while I have a color I paid for, won't use and they wanted me to pay for another new color. No way!
