Lovely colourWhen I first went through the profile questions, I originally chose a dark brown colour as that is my natural hair colour, however, upon placing the order I received an email advising me that a medium brown had been selected for me as my current hair colour is light brown with blonde ombre ends and they believed a darker shade would appear too dark and unflattering. I received the shipment faster than expected and the colour is perfect. I'm so glad esalon chose to amend my choice to a more flattering shade, they were absolutely correct. Excellent experience!To say I was skeptical is an understatement. I have never dyed my hair before, but, there were more than a few gray hairs I wanted to get rid of (who wants to be gray in their early 30's?). I called around my local salons who all wanted $200+ to do any kind of coloring to my hair. At first, I was going to go the typical drugstore box dye. But, I happened to stumble across esalon when looking at different brands. It seemed way too good to be true. So I kept putting it off until I just finally bit the bullet and ordered it. Shipping was extremely fast. I opened the cute little box and found all of my supplies and the easiest directions I've ever seen! I did a strand test first since my scalp is very sensitive and I wanted to make sure my hair didn't turn a funky color. The strand test turned out to be exactly what I was looking for. So it was time to take the plunge. I did have someone help me since I have very very long thick hair. We were done super quick and after 30 minutes I rinsed out my hair. I got a little scared at first when the water was purple (I dyed my hair Dark Blonde (Copper Ash). But once the water ran clear I shampooed and conditioned my hair with the amazing packets that came with the kit. I REALLY loved the shampoo and conditioner, it smelled heavenly and made my hair silky. At this point, I was still afraid to look in the mirror. So I blow dried my hair and all I hear from my friend is "WOW!" My friend was a bigger skeptic than me but she LOVED it. So I ran to the mirror and it is incredible. It's not dull or bland and it doesn't look like I took a red marker to my head (I was very afraid that my hair would turn bright red). It has dimension and it looks like natural hair. First Haircolor ExperienceI was nervous about coloring my hair for the first time. My hair is straight, soft textured, and quite difficult to keep up in clips. In spite of my inexperience, the color turned out quite nice. Multi colorThis was supposed to make my hair a dark auburn. I followed directions to the T because I was afraid of this happening and sure enough I have roots that look black, some streaks of red and bright red ends. Not happy!
