Looks better than Sally's Ion colors or box colorThis is my first time trying eSalon and I'm definitely going to continue. I liked my color, but because I was starting with balayage/shadow roots, the color didn't take evenly and I had to use my second bottle to do touch ups the next day and I'm still not sure it's totally even, but I'm hoping that some washes will even it out. I did mention the balayage/shadow root in my message with my order but still received the same color for roots/ends, although I'm not sure that's relevant. Overall, I'm happy with the service because it came quickly and I appreciate certain colors being blocked out so that you can't choose them (I like drastic changes and sometimes need to be stopped!) and I felt like the color was way more multidemensional/natural looking than any store-bought demi I've ever tried. 0 of 0 people found this review helpful. After one use (will update)I have curly/wavy thick hair that always gets butchered at the hair dressers so I have been cutting my own hair for the past year. I have been looking for an alternative to dye since then because, unfortunately, I have also had a steady uphill battle with grey hair since I was 16 (thanks dad). The packaging is delightful. It comes with everything needed (my first box had one for my roots, and one for my ends since I had coloured hair previously). It seems very thoughtfully laid out, and even comes with a little sticker to pin up your instructions. I especially loved the little extra tips it included. The only thing I would do differently next time is the application. Like I mentioned before, I have thicker hair, so I probably should have listened to my gut and divided my hair into smaller sections, but that is on me. The coverage was still great, but I did miss a few small sections underneath, so I think it is important to remember to tweak things as you get around that learning curve. As I was working the excess colour out of my hair, the product did feel strange. It almost felt greasy and gooey (not quite the right description, but the closest I could put into words). I was a little worried the first minute or so in the shower, but once I finished with the shampoo that sensation was gone. Plus as I finished with the conditioner it was feeling great! My only comparison for at home dye is the boxed stuff, which always leaves my hair feeling stripped, so I guess I am just not used to it feel hydrated with dye! Once I finished with the process I used the enclosed stain remover (very effective), and then towel dried my hair with a microfiber cloth, allowed it to air dry, and finished with a quick trim. I was more impressed with the finished product then any time I have left the salon and actually had someone ask where I had got it done! So far I am incredibly happy with the results, but will test it out a few more times to confirm it lives up to this first use. 0 of 0 people found this review helpful. Did you? |
