New to esalonHeard about esalon from a friend and decided to give it a go! The process was easy and I got a response from a stylist pretty quick explaining the color I chose was a few shades darker than my current color and suggested that I try a color that was only one shade darker just in case I wanted to go lighter. I took the advice and am glad I did, not because I don't like dark hair but because I ended up loving the color they sent! Best color and mistake-proofI was recently complimented on my color, highlights and low lights. No one would believe that I didn't have low lights and hadn't highlighted my hair in months. Secondly, they were slow to believe I did it myself. My answer: Believe it! Do it yourself! It's easy! The color and directions are customized. The tools and products offered are professional and inexpensive. The color covers gray and lasts weeks/ months longer than store box brands. Couldn't get it outI hate dying my hair. I hate the damage over the counter stuff does and with my really long hair and not willing to pay salon prices. I color my hair maybe once every 5 years or so, but lately noticing a lot of grey starting to come in. I did my research and got very excited about esalon. My box arrived and I didn't delay. Well, I prepped, and followed the directions. Going good. Time to rinse. It wouldn't come out. It took 3 showers, completely running out of hot water each time, to get the gummy/waxy residue out. I used the shampoo/conditioner that came with, then the stuff I bought from esalon, ending finally in my Dove. I like the color, tho not much different from what I had. I just wish my hair didn't feel so gross. Feeling a bit disappointed. Update 10/01/17: My colorist added a bottle of Gaining Strength shampoo to my next order to use to help wash the residue from the dye out, instead of the shampoo that normally comes with. This helped immensely! I still had the gummy/waxy feel from my 2nd attempt with the dye, but 2 washes with the new shampoo and a good conditioner and it was all out. My hair color looks good (tho will need adjusted again because it's still not quite the color I want and with the season change, I want a deeper color for fall and winter instead of lighter for summer), and feels way better than before. 0 of 0 people found this review helpful.
