Lasting colorI really liked the color after I used the product. But I really wish it stayed that color a little longer. Dyed hair April 16 over 3 weeks ago. The color has faded to a white blonde again. Maybe I need to apply better. Used the brush method. May just part & work it all in like I used to with other products. Very happy with this DIY coloring systemThe reason I took away one star is because the gray started showing slightly about 3 or 4 days after I did the color with the esalon kit. Usually it doesn't start showing for a couple of weeks when I go to my regular hair colorist and then by week 3 I do them again. But it may be that the volume of peroxide they sent me wasn't strong enough. I wrote them today to ask about that. Otherwise, I love it. It's easy to do yourself. Great product- color is perfect.This is the second order I have made. The only reason I am giving it a four star instead of five, is that this time I did not receive the applicator brush and it was difficult to apply the color to the roots and then work it up the new growth without the brush. Turned my hair orangeWhat a disaster. I followed every instruction to the T and when I was done my roots were a gross rust/orange color. I’ve used many different at home hair colors, including Esalon preciously, in between salon visits and I have NEVER had my hair turn this color. Not what I wantedI ordered this color to make my hair lighter and even put that in the notes for my stylist. This color made my hair even darker which is exactly want I didn’t want. Do not recommend!Honest review from a woman that has been doing most of my own hair coloring at home since the age of 14. —> The package arrived very timely and in a pretty box set. A+ for presentation! However, I am NOT happy with the product at all! F for the remainder of the review! The color was supposed to be darkest brown, which is the color I have been using on my hair for a long time now. Prior to coloring, I had about 2-2 1/2 inches of growth, which you can still sort of see and my roots look like a slightly lighter shade of brown. Also, it did not cover all my gray. Gray coverage has never been an issue for me and I have used many brands of hair color over the years. I had a friend that does hair help me apply the product. Her response to the strong smell of the dye liquid should have been enough for me to change my mind when she said that this is dollar store quality and it was bad for my hair. The dye liquid had an extremely strong odor! My hair is pretty tough when it comes to color and I wanted to know what the end results were going to be, so I proceeded with the application. My ends, which my friend trimmed prior to coloring feel dry and rough as if she did nothing. This product did exactly what my friend said it would.
