Pleasantly Surprised!A friend at work told me about trying this new hair color. I was retiring so I just thought it looks great on her but I’m growing out my gray. Fast forward about 5 years. I wasn’t happy with my gray so decided to try eSalon. I am absolutely an amateur at doing my own hair color, so I watched all the videos and then was ready to color my own hair. Whatever It TakesI originally picked a color (from a large shade selection, so you can surely find a shade you like), but that's not the shade that actually came out on my hair when I used the product. I love that I was able to explain what happened, send a picture of the outcome, and a personal color consultant changed the formula as necessary to provide the color result I wanted, and sent it to me at no charge! Store packages can't guarantee the color shade on the box because people's hair handle the chemicals differently. If what you see isn't what you get, oh well. I LOVE THE NEW FORMULAI got my regular root touch up and ends refresher. But you sent a note about it being a newer formula. It was much better! I loved the thickness of the dye. It was MUCH better! Also, it rinsed out MUCH better. Before if I didn’t take a long time rinsing out the dye, it would feel gummy or greasy in some spots. Thank you! For upgrading it. It’s fantastic! HighlightsI have very thin hair, as do most natural blonds, I followed the directions provided and ended up with all of my hair on the outside highlighted. I had explained to my 1st colorist my highly rated, as one of the best colorist in San Francisco always used a cap to pull my hair through. He moved to Hawaii😥. For some reason my colorists changed with esalon and the info was not passed on. My instructions were to use a brush, with 3 1" pieces highlighted on each side! That was a lot of my hair! I trusted they knew what they were doing with the instructions delivered. I have recieved another box of color and am afraid to use it. Great color, easy.The only thing I would have done differently is to leave the color on a full 30 minutes. I have a lot of gray and it wasn't quite long enough with the 15-20. But the color and feel are GREAT. 0 of 0 people found this review helpful. Did you? |

I don't knowI don't think I picked dark brown. But now my hair is brown, when before it was an awesome Violet. It looks like the color I got has Violet in it, but I don't think so.
