Turned my hair orange TWICE in the last 6 monthsI have been a customer since 2016 dying my hair every 4 weeks. July 2024 I dyed my hair as usual and once dry I noticed my hair was orange wherever the dye was put in my hair. I called esalon & they apologized and shipped out a replacement box for free. I did notice that the dye had exploded out of the bottle in the garbage can where I had thrown it out and this never happens. Fast forward to Dec 2024, dye my hair and hair is orange again! I’m so upset as this is the second time and it is the holidays and I have events to attend and my hair is orange. I call esalon and ask them to please overnight the replacement box. I ask why this is happening and the colorist on the phone admits I’m not the first & that they've been having warehousing issues!!! Needless to say they said they would ship out express and they did not and I got it 10days later and spent the holidays with orange hair. The dye also again exploded out of the bottle in garbage can. Too light & didn’t cover graysI asked for the darkest brown with copper tones. My hair is now a light coppery brown color. Also, it didn’t cover up my grays. I followed the instructions exactly and I’m very disappointed in the results. Another problem was the smell. I’ve used a few different hair color services to try find the best one for me, and this one was the most chemical smelling. I’m still sneezing hours later. Fades quickly, can’t get more to refreshI absolutely loved this color when I first ordered it, so much so that when it began to fade I immediately ordered more. I only received my root color. I was shocked by this since I used esalon in the past and the kit typically refreshes the entire color. While it’s a great product, I feel like that was there was to save money at the customers expense. I don’t think any product designed to color my hair that requires me begging customer service to include enough product to complete the task is worth it. Colour and condition improvedHaving dyed my hair for over 20 years with box dyes where the colour never lasted longer than 2 weeks before seeing the regrowth and the condition of my hair getting worse, i decided to try the custom colour set. I've only used the custom colour set twice and the colour is lasting 4 to 5 weeks and the condition of my hair has vastly improved. I definitely wouldn't go back to using my old box hair dyes as paying the extra for the custom colour set is worth.the additional cost. Everyone gets a personal colourist who makes sure everything is OK and to give advice. Everything is delivered and I can change the number of weeks in which I want the next purchase or request to have it sooner all online. Great color since 2020Started using during COVID. Over the last 3 years, I have periodically made changes to my color just to switch it up a bit. This product is easy to apply. Perfect brownThe color is lovely with warm tone, it covers very well my greys and it's gentle to my hair and my scalp 😍 I struggled for a long time to find "my brown"( usually it was too light or too dark and it faded quickly) and now I feel likes myself.
