BrilliantI’ve not been able to get to a salon for about 16 months due to pregnancy, covid lockdowns and then a new baby in tow. I used to go every 2 months so as you can imagine my hair felt terrible grey roots, faded ends and over dyed patchy sections in between. I saw Esalon on Instagram and thought ‘why not’. Quick questionnaire later and with my colour selected I then got a message from one of the colourists telling me it was too dark for my skin tone. I always seem to pick a colour too dark and feel disappointed after so was delighted they intervened. I watched the how to videos carefully, followed the instructions to the letter sectioning my hair into 4 sections and carefully working through each one. I’ve got long hair which is dark at the roots and the ends have really become quite bleached in the sun (accidentally so) so I used the root touch up and then the ends refresher and did precisely what they told me to in the instructions and hey presto, perfect salon colour. I’ve used box colours for years when I couldn’t get to a salon and they aren’t great in my experience and definitely cannot compete with a professional colourist, but for a bit more money I think this colour looks as good as, possibly better than the salon because you get the professional colourist in the price and they assess your hair. I also didn’t have to find a babysitter and sit in a salon chair for 2-3 hours fretting about the cost. I don’t think I’ll go back. Matched my salon color exactlyAdd me to the list who are shocked that an online service could deliver an exact match to the color I spent WAY too much money on at the salon. I need to cover grey roots, and the product did a great job of that...my technique not so much, ha. They caution you against coloring roots over previously colored hair to avoid "striping", but I believe that led me to underestimate how far out my grey roots really went, and I ended up with a very faint grey line about half an inch away from my scalp. User error; but the coverage where I had enough product was flawless. I was impressed and do plan to try again. Did not workThis is only my third shipment but the color did not work. I followed the directions just like before. It worked the other two times and looked okay but this one was a fail. I am not sure if it’s worth the price of almost $30 (with shipping) for color that is hit or miss. 1 of 1 people found this review helpful. Did you? |
