Back to natural at lastReally impressed with the eSalon service. As much as I love my hairdresser, I have found the cost of having to have roots done every 6 weeks has become too much. I'd used a semi-permanent shop-bought dye part way through lockdown and have always resisted doing a permanent at home colour myself as find my hair ends up with too much red in it and/or can go far too dark. After filling in the online questionnaire and selecting my colour, eSalon contacted me to say they thought the shade I had chosen might be too warm so had toned it down. I did the colour last night and am really impressed. While I think it might still be slightly too warm, the result is the closest to my natural mid brunette that I have been in years (I went for a Medium Brown 20VOL with Pearl). The colour is really even throughout and all my greys (of which there were A LOT) have gone. Only reason it's not a 5* review is the smell of the 2nd bottle. Oh my days!! It was such a strong ammonia smell when I mixed it. It made my eyes water. Great at home optionStarted using esalon when Covid closed salons here. When salons opened back up, I kept doing esalon since it’s a much cheaper alternative & the color looks good. Custom color no goodCustom hair colour great price but that's all. My hair was orange instead of a lovely burandy red. A big bunch of hair also fell out.
