Not made for meI mean, of course this dolor pack was made for me, but my hair didn't like it at all. Applying was easy, the colour tone and Gray coverage was great right after, but then... my hair got very dry, brittle and frizzy, it feels like some old fuzzy broom now, no matter what repair balm or treatment I apply, I cannot leave it open, as I look like some weird witch. I have to keep it in a ponytail now, to be able to go among people. So unfortunately, I cannot recommend it at all. Not for really thick hairThe color is fine, trying to get the color out is a whole different story. I've used the demi-permanent and it washed out easily. I've used the permanent color twice and both times I've had the same issue. It takes 6 - 8 washes to get the color out of my hair and scalp. I have tried putting it in sections and washing one section at a time. I get in the shower and wash some of the surface color (slimy goo) off, then start adding shampoo, wash it out, then repeat 5 more times. There is not enough shampoo provided for even half of the washings. Inevitably I have to wash it again that same day because of a spot that I have missed. I'm sure the color works great for someone with thinner hair than I have and can actually wash it out but I have super thick hair which I have mentioned to my colorist each time they have called. The positive is that the color is SOOO easy to put on when using the bottle and just rubbing the color with a gloved hand. Plus with my really thick hair, I use every drop, but only able to get a thin layer on the remaining hair. It is great coverage for the gray hair. There are a lot of wins for esalon and the concept is great, but getting the color to wash out is enough to cancel my subscription. 0 of 0 people found this review helpful. Did you? |

Still feels gummyI tried esalon before and had a problem with the product leaving my hair feeling gummy for over a week and looking awful. The color is terrific but the feel is terrible! I thought I would retry when I had heard it went through a change but I have the same problem. I used the shampoo and conditioner it came with and still my hair felt like I had been slimed. It’s sad because it is my favorite color, that I just can’t get with other box color, but the feel just is not good and I have to plan on not going out for at least a week after a coloring.😞 0 of 0 people found this review helpful. didn't workWhile I love the idea of customisation of colour and the colourist was really nice, I tried twice and both times the colour turned to orange on my hair, although I had mentioned that this usually happens with dies. The texture of the die is gel-like and incredibly difficult to wash out, and my hair looked very dry after the colouring, when with other brands the conditioner makes it look glossy. Ugh! Mousey hair!Unfortunately, I didn’t get what I first ordered, which was a light ash blonde. Instead I got sent a medium ash, it now looks like my original mousy colour that I’ve been dyeing for years to get rid of it! I did get an apology and a refund, which is good of them! DisappointedThere was plenty of product to do my long hair which was great however I am disappointed with the fading of the colour after 3washes Have redone my hair with usual shop bought dye after 10 days not happy I expected more from this for the price 0 of 0 people found this review helpful.
