Caused huge allergic reactionI have been using eSalon's hair dyes since lockdown and was originally very happy. The last couple of shipments of my custom colour have caused me to have an allergic reaction. Initially like contact dermatitis - itching, flaking and sore around my scalp and ears. This time, my forehead is completely swollen and I am in a lot of pain. Didn't cover the graysI followed the instructions exactly but was disappointed to see just as many grays in my part line as before my coloring. The good and bad ( not so good this time)Ok the good and bad: 💓💔I like the concept behind esalon. Their other products are wonderful. Like the tint rinse and shampoo and conditioner combos. Love the colorist team and how fast they answer any questions or concerns. The bad, the color doesn't seem to take with my grays. I'm 44 years old so I have some gray hair on the side. Hair feels and looks nice for a couple weeks but the color does not hold. It maybe just this color I'm trying as I've had good luck with others. So I'm not ready to toss in the towel yet. I REALLY wanted to like it...I really wanted to like this product. I raved about it on my social media before I even tried it. The kit is awesome, shipping was so fast. I literally received it the same week I ordered. I followed all directions to the T and I provided pictures and history as to how black hair dyes always seem to fade quickly to brown or have a red undertone. I selected blue black permanent and my hair came out light red brown at the top and slightly more black on the ends. I'm really confused because even the cheapest blue blacks have never done this. I thought I could message my colorist because that's what they claim. But I have yet to receive any response and I find it odd that I'm expected to rock this half red brown half black hair till my next color shipment where they'll revise the color. Demi is not DemiThe color sent to me was actually permanent. I specifically chose demi to use on virgin hair so that it wasn't permanent. I only purchased a few times and after using this for the last time about 7 months ago, I STILL have the stubborn color in my hair. When I finally scheduled an appointment with a colorist in a salon she told me that there was no way the color I used was demi permanent.
