I liked everything about this...except my hairLet's start with the good. The eSalon website is easy to navigate and fun to use. The kit I received came lightning fast, which I found very impressive. My colorist contacted me twice and the process felt refreshingly personal. I went into the coloring process feeling hopeful that I could stretch out salon visits with the help of this product. I read so many rave reviews! Well, there's a reason why I've been faithful to my stylist for years, and clearly I needed a reminder. Reds are hard to get right, and despite following the directions meticulously, my hair looks absolutely awful. It is four different colors and none of them are cute. I'm embarrassed! The color was off quite a bitThe packaging was great, the application couldn't have been easier. I am not a novice at coloring and I thought I gave a pretty good explanation of the color I wanted. Same color as the salon...not the same resultsI was so excited to try e-salon and loved the in-depth and visual process of choosing a hair color. I felt my choosing my color would be pretty straight forward as I contacted my local salon stylist for specific color information, as I was unable to see her due to covid-19. I chose the same color (level 3)...darkest brown...almost looks black. I was so delighted when I got my box and loved the instructions and ease of preparation. I applied it as directed to my roots mainly as to cover up my growth, which is lighter than my desired color and rest of my hair. After washing and drying my hair, I was so disappointed to see that my roots had not seemed to change color and were still lighter than my desired color. ColorSo the first time I ordered, you chose a lighter color. It's not bad and I realize I had quite a bit of grey to cover. I like red.. Orange warm red. I'll send some pics of what I usually get from my salon. And in order for the red to last it's usually the higher priced dye. My Custom ColorMy “Custom Color” you prepared for me did Not take on my grey in front of my temples and ears. Your mix also burned my eyes. I use Schwarzkopf and it covers Wonderfully and does Not burn my eyes.
