First time coloring my hairI wanted a complete change of color after years with natural dark brown hair and blond highlights. I thought it brightened my face but was ready to go darker for a while. The instructions were helpful but I pulled the color through to the ends for the last 10 minutes then rinsed instead of 30 minutes just on the roots suggested in the instructions. I don't remember saying I only wanted the roots done. I think it came out pretty even but I might need some tweaking with the color. Easier than I thought though. AmazingOh, I was so scared! A few days after opening my box. ( which was very nicely packed) I got to work. I was so nervous! The following day I saw two friends. I asked them how they liked my hair. They said “ what do you mean?” I think that is the very best compliment. My hair looked like it always did! to them. But.. all the grey was gone and it looked totally natural. Way to go E salon. Amazing color!After a goof-up (totally MY fault) getting my first shade right, my colorist, Freddie, gave me the closest color possible to my dream shade without needed to strip my current hair color. It was as simple as sending a message and a couple photos. The product is amazing, too! It doesn't stain your shower and rinsed from my hair more quickly and more completely than other brands I've tried. And the next time I showered, the water still ran clear, so no staining clothes or towels! It smells like regular drugstore hair color while you're putting it on and it has a lingering smell after you rinse and wash, but it's not terrible. And the smell is gone the next time you shampoo. I really love that I can get a salon-quality color AND talk to a real expert about things I want/don't want without having to go to a salon. When I reached out because I didn't like the first shade (which again was totally my fault for reading the chart wrong), my expert told me that the color I wanted was too light because I'd already dyed my hair and that the new color wouldn't lift the dye, just lay over it. But honestly, the shade I got the second time is MUCH better suited to my complexion and I LOVE it!! I've been dyeing my hair since I was 16 *cough 40 years cough* so I know my way around a box of dye. This by far has been the best home hair dyeing experience I've ever had.
