Too dark and some residue?I order a dark brown and it was almost black. But a very nice dark brown color, I just can’t pull off such dark hair with such pale skin. Also a section of my ends had some kind of waxy residue left on it that I had to wash 3 times and rinse with acv to finally get out. Horrified at my dark locks.Under the recommendation from my friend, I was interested to try Esalon out but am horrified that I have gone from a warm rose gold to a flat dark brown, with uneven tones. Although delivery was speedy from the USA to England. I cannot say that will be recommending Esalon to my friends & family. I now have an appoint with a colourist to see if she can salvage my colour. God only knows how much this will cost to put straight. As for Esalon’s “100% guarantee or its on us”, I can’t see how to complain & judging by all the negative reviews online, I will have to put this down to a hard & expensive lesson as I should have done more research prior to ordering from Esalon. No gray coverageJust like the store bought or salon color....this one did not cover the gray but just made it brassy looking...I did explain this problem up front before ordering, and followed the instructions to the letter....but the result was just as disappointing as the rest 1 of 1 people found this review helpful. Still not the color I am afterThis is the 2nd time I am trying to get my hair to a medium blond. My instructions are to color my roots with the 1st bottle for 30 min., and then use the 2nd bottle on the length for 10 min. The roots are darker, it’s been over a week, and the root color is starting to lighten up a little, so it’s not as noticeable, but I wasn’t very happy. Pros and consIt’s definitely cheaper than a salon, but I usually buy box dye from the store and color my hair myself. This treatment left my hair in hard clumps while coloring. I figured no problem that it will just wash out. Nope! Even while washing, my hair still stayed in clumps. I had to wash and conditioner it twice just to break up the clumps. My hair is definitely not soft anymore. Maybe after a few more washes it will be okay. I had reddish brown colored hair prior to treatment, and I was trying to aim for a medium brown. I got a reddish medium brown. It’s not bad, but I was hoping to get rid of the red, but maybe I would have had to strip it first. My hair holds red really well. They sent me two bottles, but I only needed one bottle. My hair is long but fine. I will use the second bottle later and decide then if I will repurchase. 0 of 0 people found this review helpful. Waxy mess!I wish I had read the reviews before ordering. My hair was a waxy mess even with following the instructions exactly. I couldn’t get a comb through easily, couldn’t blow dry my hair and it kept leaving the waxy residue on my hands. I seriously had to wash my hair 8 times to get the gunk out. Color was completely offAfter follow the directions and application process and letting my hair dry naturally, I looked at my newly dyed hair and was very disappointed. The grays in the front of my hair did not take the dye, the color was darker than the original color of my hair and it looks very flat. When washing it with the shampoo, I lost a fist-full of hair.
