Fumes too strong, but great results.The ammonia fumes are scary. I inhaled too much while rinsing in the sink (I can't use the shower). Also, this is a messy activity if you aren't good at doing your own hair - separating into 4 quarters, pinning, applying solution, unpinning, reapplying, repinning.... just too much pinning and unpinning while working with the wet hair color. My final pinning must have looked rediculous because I could barely get the hair stay up in the pins. However, after all was done, it did look great. Note I did not have a sticky, gunky film of residue like others mentioned. I did have hair dye spots still on my scalp that I had to scratch off, and hair dye got on my arms and face. I used a makeup removing cloth to clean it off my arms and face. Also, and very important, my instructions recommended I use leftover solution in my final rise, which nearly killed me with fumes in the sink. Don't do this. For the short time frame this leftover dye is in contact with your hair there wouldn't be a benefit, and not worth the horrid blast of fumes. Just rinse it out with water and then wash your hair. Because of the fumes, I'm debating on whether or not to do this again. I have to hold my breath while rinsing. :( 19 of 24 people found this review helpful. Did you? |

Ruined my hairI’ve used other at home color kits before and after using this one my hair was really dry. I also seemed to have lost a lot of hair. I have really thick hair and I brushed it prior but still had a lot come out while shampooing. And hair feels dry and brittle afterwards. Also the bottles the color was coming out of the part where you screw it on instead of the top. The whole process was horrible. 1 of 1 people found this review helpful. Did you? |

No help from stylistBad color on me. Two colors did not match. I ended up with rose colored roots and gray hair length. Very unhappy tried to leave message for stylist. I liked the ideaI chose Natural Dark Blonde, which is close to my natural color. I didn’t feel my colorist took into consideration the level I wanted mixed with the correct neutralizer or level to correct my warm ginger/orange/copper in my hair. My color had a small amount of blue but absolutely no green to counteract the orange. So my hair turned a medium auburn brown due to the underlying pigment not being neutralized. Hair color lifted too red - even though I specified in my notes that I lift red!So, I used the product last night. All went well. The shipping was great, box and contents nicely done. Instructions well written. But - and a BIG but - the color was too red! I wrote a very long and detailed note explaining that I lift red very easily and need an 'ash' type color. I got dark blonde - ash. Which was on the box. The color was too light and now I'm this brassy red color on my part. (I used it as a touch up to color the gray that was growing out.) I'm not happy and now stuck with this awful light brassy orange/red color. Ugghhhh! I even uploaded 3 different photos of me and my hair. Not happy!!! 0 of 0 people found this review helpful.
