Didn't quite cover my greyI like the color, but it didn't conquer my most stubborn gray around my hairline. I left it on the whole time. I Expected BetterI certainly dont mean to offend, but my honest opinion is that I've done an equivalent job with Color Silk $3.00 box of dye. Normally, I don't bother to follow the coloring instructions, because I've been dying my hair for eons. This time, I took extra special care to follow every instruction to the T. I timed roots then did my ends, and even had some leftover dye to mix with water and massage in in the shower. Sadly, my roots came out very dark, while the bulk of my hair is a brighter shade of red. They didnt blend well at all. My hair feels much drier and frizzy. Still not covering my rootsI have white and grey roots. This is the second time I have tried salon color and, even after adjusting color and following directions EXACTLY as written, the coverage is suboptimal. Has turned my hair to straw and my ends look like crapStopped coloring my hair because of OTC brands made my hair overly porous and look like straw. Salon dyes were better be cause they were custom but I did not want to send $120 in the salon every 6 weeks for my super long and thick hair. Esalon with their custom blends seemed to be the right fit to still get custom color and not cost an arm and a leg. First two shipments seemed not to destroy my hair like OTC color and I was happy. Since then, each consecutive dye seems to have made my hair progressively worse and it is awful now. It also seems like custom color does not realize that your roots my need refreshing more than annually when your hair falls more than halfway down your back. Orange, not beige :’( 😢My hair hasn’t been dyed in two years, and two years ago all I got was a few highlights which have grown out to my ends. So basically. All virgin hair. I was really hesitant to try out e-salon because dying my hair isn’t something I do all the time, it’s rare because I’m really trying to take care of my hair. But I digress, this summer with the quarantine from covid, I thought I’d do something to make myself happy. And since there are no hairdressers open due to the quarantine I tried e-salon, given its excellent reviews. My hair is naturally a medium blonde, veering on the dark blonde side in the winter, and gets quite light in the summer. All I wanted was to add some ashy/beige blonde to it so that it was lighter before the summer started. I had to wait a really long time for my order, but again, covid and I’m in canada, so I understand. Today I took the plunge. I followed the instructions, and I even rinsed with purple shampoo and conditioner after. But I so regret it now, as my hair is all orange. Brassy, coppery orange. If I could attach a picture I would. I’m so sad, because now I feel like I’m going to have to dye it again sooner than later because it looks so bad :( and the salons aren’t open yet, not to mention I don’t have the money right now to pay for a professional. Maybe if you want to go black or red esalon will work for you, but the colour that was chosen to be mixed with my 20volume developer didn’t have enough ash in it, so I’d think twice before lightening with e-salon. 1 of 1 people found this review helpful. Been over a week still no color, package is now in Kentucky.... Im in MD....So I ordered my color, its shipped and I even spent the extra 5$ to get it quicker... what a laugh, it isn't even in my state yet delivery a week from now... so much for fast track... After I get this im done and will go back to Madison Reed so cancel my account. Well its been a week, no color yet.... checked tracking and its still in another state... are you fucking kidding me..... Never again.. Madison Reed and Ulta send my color out in a day or 2 so Esalon you can kiss my ass and I will continue to warn people about your shitty practices...5$ to fast track and here it is a week later and nothing......
