Not what I was looking for, Highly disappointedFirst things first, I have colored my own hair dozens of time is the past so I am confident in my ability to make sure every thing is fully saturated. I have natural red hair which in and of itself is difficult to color, so I chose to go much darker than my natural color. The color I attempted to achieve was supposed to be dark brown and have violet highlights in the sunlight. I got the dark brown, mostly! There are some areas where there is no difference from before I dyed. The most noticeable is on the top and the front. I am absolutely certain I fully saturated that area as it is the easiest part to reach. I have also noticed there is still a lot of red throughout the length. I am getting used to the color differences and I will admit that the red coming through doesn't look absolutely terrible. Now as far as the violet color, totally absent! There is absolutely no violet or purple in my color at all. I first noticed the absence of violet the day I colored and I figured it is a new color and it may take a couple days to really be able to see it. Well 3 days and 3 washings later I still have no violet, but I do have a head chuck full of dark brown (almost black) and auburn hair. 0 of 0 people found this review helpful. Did you? |

The fading is for realI really hoped that esalon would have worked out for me. I have metastatic breast cancer and because of the pandemic this was such a convenient way to get hair dye. The color was great but only for about a week. At first I thought that maybe it was because it was virgin hair (this was my first dye job post chemo), but after 3 kits the color still faded despite me using their tint rinse and color safe shampoo. I’d dye it and have the most beautiful chestnut brown hair and after a few washes I looked like Donald Trump. Horrible. Blah. Such a bummer. So I’m back to going to Sally’s and mixing my own color. Wrong colourThe colour and process were fine, but I got almost black vs the labelled colour of med ash. Worst smell I have ever had with hair color, almost sent me to the hospital.Not only was the color not as pictured, but the smell was so bad it almost sent me to the hospital. I have MCS disorder and have never used a hair color that was this bad. My skin was burning, I couldn't breathe, the fumes burned my eyes. I was in a well ventilated place and even went outside, it didn't help. I canceld my second shipment, it magically shipped anyway and I canceled a second time after the second box shipped. Wrong colour again.I have now tried eSalon three times and every time there’s been a problem with the colour not covering my greys, fading or red tones which I absolutely do not want. I thought I’d be third time lucky but no, my hair was so red and way darker than it should have been. I’m pretty upset with really bad hair and scabs all through my scalp.
