I asked for a plum and got even more redI asked for my hair color to be adjusted to a more purple/plum hue instead of a red/burgandy. My first hair color was perfect to my natural color. I couldn't have been happier, if that was what I was looking for! When I received my color the 2nd time and saw the changes from the original, there was more red (by the percentages) I even called esalon to inquire about what the color numbers meant and the percentages. I explained that I wanted a more purple tone than red. The person I spoke with reassured me that red and blue make purple and it would come out like a plum/eggplant color instead of red (altho the color diagram did not reflect that). BAD REACTIONOf course the pretty package comes, directions on top and I was eager to start. I NEVER had a reaction to the color at my high end salon before but as I put the first solution on my roots, my hair started to BURN like FIRE!! I didn't want to waste the $...but my scalp was burning red and after only 6 minutes a root application I had to rinse it out..... not only did the coloring product come out but so did A TON OF MY HAIR! My scalp was still burning 6 hours later lying in bed and today as it sits in a ponytail. MY SCALP STILL BURNS!!! Not the right colour and hasn't covered greyI asked for an ash light grey - what I get was quite a reddish-brown. I quite like the colour, but I wanted it as natural as possible- and my natural colour is not at all red. The grey hasn't taken the colour either - at all. Great packaging.. and great suppliesReally loved the box and the TWO sets of gloves... the samples of shampoo and conditioner were very good! The color did not cover the grays for as long as I wanted. It faded. I had also pushed out my order a week. I am trying at the recommended four weeks now. Not so sure...Over time, this hair color has both bleached my hair & dried it out terribly. It feels like the diameter of the hair follicles are also wearing away... Need something less harsh & more color-depositing, not bleaching! 0 of 0 people found this review helpful. Did you? |

there was no purpleI wanted a color that was dark as my nature color is dark, but I was wanting to picking up the purple/ violet as I had lighten my hair so right now when I went back to my darker color would be the perfect time to do that. it did not do that it just went dark 0 of 0 people found this review helpful.
