Unresponsive customer serviceLove the idea of custom color, in fact this is my second purchase from this company. The first time everything went fine, but the color wasn't quite what I wanted. No biggie. I expected to need to have to ask them to tweak the formula to get just the right custom color I pictured in my head. My color consultant emailed back n forth with me. They formulated a new color. Applied easily, initial color was pretty, but the within days it turned a purple-red. I had only washed it twice and followed all directions exactly during application. After emailing my consultant I was told that it turned purple-red because my hair is brown with copper tones and I requested a brown dye with copper tones. They suggested I color it ash brown to avoid turning purple-red. When I sent a msg back asking more questions and stating I really didn't want ash brown hair, they never answered back. It's literally been weeks since they just stopped responding to me. Really disappointed. Not what I expectedThey advertise this product as a full coverage, long lasting hair color.Better than the average color. For the price I can do much better with coverage going to the local beauty supply. Plus is they do get pretty close to your natural color. Not at all what I asked forI adjusted my color and asked for the reddest of reds. My hair is mouse brown. I have had good luck with previous colors but it's always just a hair off (no pun intended). The more I have tried to adjust, the less my desired color is. At this point I would go nearly black just to make it simple, but that's not even an option. I may try some of the other services elsewhere because it's been a constant struggle to get it right. Beyond that, the products are good. Not a bad productEsalon, is not a bad product, and it takes out the time to go to the store. Where it falls short is that the coverage for me holds up to about the same time as any of the clairol, and ion colors I used in the past. DisappointedThe 1st two orders were great! The color was good, shipping was on time. The instructions were clear except what to do with the additional product. Then I received my 3rd order, did exactly as the 1st two times, but when I went to rinse it out it turned into a very thick waxy feeling substance. I washed and scrubbed twice with no luck getting the goo out of my hair. I was stressed and was on the verge of being late for work. I call Customer Care and explain the situation, she said that doesn't happen often, but it does happen. She instructed me to go buy some clarifying shampoo. When I asked why this happened, she said possibly adding too much or not enough water to hair to work it into a lather before rinsing out completely. I ended up shampooing 6 times before getting the gunk out of my hair! I ultimately decided to give it one more try. This time was nearly identical to the last.
