Not For Me But I Still Think It’s Worth TryingThe customer service is truly fantastic. I really wanted to love my color results but I didn’t. I don’t fault the company—I have brown hair with full highlights and just wanted to go back to my natural brown. At the salon, it’s a long process to fill in highlights and can take a few color applications. That being said, the color that was made for me was very nice but didn’t do what I wanted. The lighter highlights ended up red (and that is a color I avoid like the plague). I called customer service and they were really wonderful. They were knowledgeable, very nice, and helpful. I also did love the packaging and my color arrived quickly after placing the order. Loved the coverage , color too DarkI was very excited to try this hair color. It covered my gray hairs beautifully like at the salon and who wouldn't love that it was so easy to do. .However the Dark Brown I ordered was way to dark on me looks almost black. Dissapointed in colorI have always done my hair blonde and I think I had that down pretty well. I decided to switch to a copper red color recently and I am learning all over again. The first few times I did it, my roots processed much quicker than the rest of my hair causing bright red roots and much faded for the rest of my hair. So I started processing the lengths of my hair and then adding it to the roots in the last couple minutes to avoid the “hot roots”. This was the perfect solution but I still hadn’t found the perfect color so I decided to try e-salon. When the stylist gave me a call, she gave me instructions to process the roots first and for longest, and then the roots. When I explained my hot roots, she assured me that wouldn’t be the case with the e-salon color and told me I had to do the roots first (and for longer) and then the ends. She also helped me choose a color. I told her I wanted a pretty fall copper red color (warm but not too bright). The color I was sent was fairly dull, not a warm/bright copper color. I did love the packaging and presentation and have wanted to try the color revive (I think that’s the name?) but I am wary after this experience. I have since used another brand with better luck. I also noticed that the e-salon color was very difficult to rinse out and left a sticky film on my hair. 1 of 2 people found this review helpful. Did you? |

Left with a thick sticky residue on my hairI have used the eSalon color multiple times now but this last batch was completely different from anything I’ve experienced before. I had trouble rinsing out the dye, had to wash my hair 3 times before I felt my hair was rinsed thoroughly and didn’t feel a build up on my scalp. When I went to brush my hair it felt like there was a sticky residue remaining. The following day I shampooed twice more. It took about 2 weeks before my hair felt normal. The color was also off. My color is the most vibrant red that is available to me but this batch was more brown than red. DisappointedI would love to permanently dye my hair auburn in the future, but i wanted to see if it suited me first by using a semi-permanent colour, and i couldn't find any home dye kits which were the colour i wanted, so i was over the moon when i found eSalon because it does custom colour suited to your specific hair. I found the perfect colour and ordered 'light brown (red copper)' in demi-permanent (as i've said i don't want to commit to permanent yet). I had high hopes for this especially as i filled out details on my hair type etc, but when i died it it looked nothing like the colour shown on the website. I know it says that permanent is best and recommended for vibrant colours, but i would have thought that it at least looked more auburn than it did! My hair came out with a slight tint instead and some bits didn't seem to dye well at all looking blonde still. It has now been about 5 months since i've died my hair and whilst most of the colour has gone, my hair still doesn't look as blonde as it did before i died it, even though i would've expected all the colour to have gone now considering it was demi-permanent - although i understand that may just be wishfull thinking and your hair may not go back to it's natural colour after dyeing it. Colour fades & ends BrittleI have been using esalon hair colour since January, I have to say that all of the colours have been lovely when first applied and last for a couple of washes. I wash my hair with colour care shampoo twice a week but after two weeks the hair colour has almost washed out and my hair is brittle. I use Demi-Permanent hair colour as I don't want my hair ruined but this seams to be doing just that, I may cancel my future hair colours as I am very worried about the condition of my hair now. 0 of 0 people found this review helpful. WAXY RESIDUE!!!! Hair falling out!I've been coloring my hair in salons and at home for years - but I've never had an experience like this. I have fine Caucasian hair, and followed the directions carefully - including the "vigorous massage" at the end. When it came time to rinse the color out, it was like my hair was coated in honey or wax. When all was said and done, I spent an hour trying to get the color out, lost a lot of hair, and am exhausted from the process. This was my third time using the product.The produce it self is great, all the added items in the box makes it a user friendly product.
