Lovely colour, but far too harsh.First impressions: I loved the box, loved that everything came so neatly and carefully packed. I also appreciate the personal touches on the products and the name of the hair dye specialist that produced my colour. The box came with 2 x developer mix, 2 x colour mix, 2 × pairs latex gloves, 1 x stain guard gel, 1 x shampoo sachet, 1 x conditioner sachet, 1 x stain removal wipe, and 1 x dye brush. The developer mix and the colour were both incredibly strong. My eyes were watering and it caused slightly more of a tingle to my scalp than usual, but nothing to worry about as it faded quickly. The mixture was a little runny for application so had to use both, especially since I have long hair! The instructions were clear and concise to follow, and any questions I might have had were answered in the little pack. The stain guard and stain removal wipe are an excellent inclusion, they both worked brilliantly so I dont have any untoward marks on the tops of my ear or the side of my face! The dye washed out really easily which was nice, and I like the watered-down dye mix beig massaged into the scalp. Made it feel like more of a salon experience, and it's amazing you included two pairs of gloves so that I wouldnt have to keep the gloves on for ages. I also appreciate that the gloves were latex - they were stronger and more form-fitting than many of the cheap plastic, so they held up well. The shampoo and conditioner smelled incredible, and made my hair feel lovely but because I have such long hair there wasnt much to go around. Finally, the colour is incredible, it brings out the copper tones in my hair and makes my natural red hair look even more vibrant. Ways to improve are few but significant. The string chemical smell is an issue for me, as well as the lack of shampoo/conditioner. Maybe a "long hair" option for 50p extra, so you get extra sachets and not just the one? Overall, 3/5. Not the colour I was asking forI was really looking forward to trying esalon as my usual colour is now discontinued. I've been gradually lightening up my hair over the past four years or so as I didn't want to ruin it with using too much bleach in one go. I selected "light brown copper" as my desired result as the colour didn't seem too far off what I had, and provided a recent picture as well where my hair looked slightly lighter than reality. I was expecting a slight change but still within my style. Oh how wrong was I. Few years of effort undone within 30 minute sof colour development as now I'm back to dark brown. Not sure I want to try a different formula as I've just lost a lot of trust. Two stars instead of one as the colour comes in a decent amount, is easy to apply, and hair quality after washing out is quite good - it's just the actual _colour_ that is a major letdown despite the long personised ordering process. 0 of 0 people found this review helpful. Horribly damaged hair after coloring with this kitI am an avid at-home dyer. I have been dying my hair with various products at home for over 15 years. I thought a professional blend suitable for my hair type would be wonderful. I have curly hair and it tends to be a tad on the dryer side in winter months. I prepped my hair with a few hair masks in the weeks prior to dying and followed the instructions to the letter. While attempting to wash the dye from my hair, it felt like each strand was covered in wax and while the roots and very ends were able to be detangled, the mid section of my hair was a rat's nest. I proceeded to utilize the conditioner sent with the kit, but it did NOTHING. I followed up with a hair mask, intense repairing conditioner, and a leave in conditioner, but it still feels like there is wax covering my hair and it is extremely tangled. Pieces continue to fall out (after the huge amount that fell down the drain during the rinse out process). I am worried I may lose even more and end up with a huge, frizzy, ball of horrid hair. 7 of 7 people found this review helpful. Did you? |

Sadly disappointed...please readThis is the second time in the last month I've used your products. Both times I stated I have red undertones in my natural dish water blonde color. I also have some greys, not a lot, but they are there. The 2nd color which was free, the color was supposed to be adjusted to address my initial concerns, which was grey coverage and NO RED tint, but this time my hair is even more redder than the first time and still no grey coverage. The color I was sent was a medium blonde and my hair color is normally a light ash blonde when I dye it. I asked both my daughter and husband for their honest opinions and they both said this color ages me. I'm 51 years old. I don't need to fast forward my age, I'm trying to rewind it. After 2 attemps and neither time the colors I was sent didn't address either of my initial concerns, I'm going back to Rite aid to get my light ash blonde hair dye. Also, the conditioner is horrible that you include in the package. I actually had a really hard time combing my hair after I got out of the shower. Normally I love the conditioner in hair dye kits and my hair always feels healthier after I dye it, but not with this product. I also had really bad static in my hair and I never have that. The packaging is wonderful and the way it's presented, but maybe spend more time addressing your customer's color concerns and less time worrying about the cute packaging. 0 of 0 people found this review helpful. ConcernedI haven't actually used the dye yet but after reading reviews I was concerned about what I read. It seems the company automatically adds you onto a repeat order set up. I checked and indeed they have. I also found that they had automatically saved my credit card details, which they had not got my permission for. Nice color, straw-like hairI liked the color and all of the tips that were available for me to apply the color correctly. In fact, your customer service is top-notch. What I didn't like was how frizzy and straw-like my hair felt after coloring. Since my hair is naturally curly and coarse, I need something that makes my hair feel more soft and conditioned after coloring. The color itself was just a tad light. It colored the gray roots, but didn't match the rest of my hair (This has happened before when using other hair color products.), so I still have roots, they're just light brown. Charged for something I never orderedCustom hair color—sounds good right? And (for a very short time) I could get my first color for $10. When will I ever learn? Box came . Color inside. Ok.
