A Perfectly Matched Root Colour + Perfect Instructions!I had never dyed my hair by myself. So, during the Covid-19 pandemic, after 3 months of unattended grown roots, I finally had to give in and try to do it myself! So, I ordered various hair colours from different brands, but never got to using them as they didn't look right. Meantime, while searching on Youtube for instructional videos of how to colour one's own hair, I saw a video where the lady in it said that she was using eSalon products and described how they went about creating a colour that would match your hair colour. So, I answered a few simple questions on eSalon and sent them a Selfie asking for a colour for my roots. They very quickly created one and sent it to me. I must say that I was at first quite skeptical as to whether it would indeed match my hair colour. But to my great surprise it did so perfectly! Also, their instructions were super clear and easy to follow - that was just great! The productvi is easy to use.I prefer more dimension and variation of color I highlight my hair and I used 2 different products to create the highlights.. Loved itThe color arrived in a cute personalized box quickly. The directions were easy to follow. I also used YouTube to watch others do it. Two colors (roots and length). eSalon Turned My Stylist's Frown Upside DownI am an African American with dreadlocks. I ordered my custom color in April, a month into sheltering in place. Although it was promoted as a do it yourself, I honestly was afraid to try it on my own at home. Fast forward to #GeorgeFloyd weekend. I canceled my auto plan because I had not used the product yet and wasn't sure I ever would. But I still had a problem; I had not got my hair done since March. So I was desperate. Fortunately, my stylist started doing hair at home. She reluctantly allowed me to bring my custom color and gave me every caution and hesitation she could think of. Guess what? To her surprise, she turned out loving the outcome. My color turned out nice! She had absolutely no complaints. My stylist liked (1) the ease of application, (2) the color blend to my hair, and most importantly, (3) no ammonia odors. She loved it! As for me, it covered ALL my stubborn gray, so I like it too! She told me to use this product always going forward, no flip flopping. So, I guess I got to follow her orders. However, I don't like the auto order just yet. If I get on a routine, I may possible sign up again in the future. But for now, I'm taking my time to get comfortable eSalon. My advise is when ordering, tell eSalon EVERYTHING about your hair so they can match you the best! Thanks Mindy!!! You did that!!! Love My Hair!!!Color was great but would like additional silvery/grayish tone. Knowing you can work with a colorist and be given the possibility this happening makes the product worthwhile.
